As much as anything else, I don't find it credible that gang rape was a routine & announced feature of parties K attended.

I believe it's possible Judge's ex-GF told the truth about JUDGE once pairing up with another guy & raping a girl too drunk to give consent, but she didn't say K was the other guy. No matter that it seems K was a mean & sloppy drunk who crossed the line more than once-and in an unforgivably big way with Ford, no, I don't believe he is a serial rapist.

Agree. And I think we'd hear from others on gang rape. There's a level of aggression in that. And intent. And I do not believe that is BK.

I think this all out frat boy party culture of spiking young women's drinks at college, perhaps high school and having sex is not thought of as rape by the young men. That they believe it is consensual... She's there to party, looks the part, and might even act the part before she passes out.

The women who aren't expecting to pass out are left broken in many cases consumed with shame and guilt.

It really is a terrible culture.. Some call it a rite of passage, bacchanalia. And it's a group culture. Think of spring break on the weekends... Imo.

So this accepted party behavior is blown out of the water when someone like Professor Ford calls her experience sexual assault.

I do believe that's why BK was so shocked and everyone clammed up.

According to the quote linked above, one of the participants wasn't going to say anything about the drunkenness and belligerency until he saw BK denying it last week. I guess the hypocrisy got to him, imo.

The link and quote are upthread.

My question is this particular incident should have been found in past FBI investigations, since there was a police report filed - and especially during the course of a security clearance check. JMO

I don't know. None of that was mentioned. Was that in her sworn statement? tia

Someone’s testimony and Kavanaugh’s calendar, iirc? Now that I’m in front of a laptop, I’ll see if I can find it again.

Thanks for that info. The New York Times used to not allow their text to be copied and pasted. It was a drag to have to retype the quotes, but it seems that has changed as I copied and pasted from NYT tonight.

I added an ETA to say that you can get the same articles at bloombergquint.com and they can be linked. I don't know what the "quint" means or why it works from there, and I am sure I will forget the next time we wonder what happened

Yes, we'll have the same conversation at some point in the future. :) See you then and there!

as the world is crashing in on him last night was the first time i pondered if he might kill himself

I've worried about this since last Thursday.

He is an entitled man, no doubt.

At this point, we have no evidence that he did anything to Dr. Ford.

An accusation from 36 years ago surfaces, without any corroboration. Your life-long belief in the rule of law is deeply shaken.

Your spouse and your children are suffering. Part of the reason your spouse is suffering is because he is suffering. Your ten and thirteen year old daughters know things you did not want them to know at their age. His parents, at vulnerable ages, are also suffering. Again, part of it is because he is suffering. Everyone who loves him is suffering.

His belief system has been thrown to Pluto.

Whether you hate him or not, I believe people should be able to see his pain.

Yes, yes. I'm hunkered down with -- yes, you guessed it -- MSNBC (you bet your boofie I am). Our boy Brett is still on the top fold of the news. they're talkin' 'bout the boundaries that have been put/boundaries removed -- DJT says no boundaries -- oh, hell I don't know what he really meant.
Yale drinking. Chad Ludington's (the Yalie now NCSU history professor who notified the FBI that he would like to speak with them) statements about BK's starting a fight in a bar, ending with one-of-them-not-brett in jail.
It's still "He passed out"/"I've never seen him pass out" on the screen. And the party stuff. Swetnick. Kerry Bercham.
I'm getting dizzy.

Ocean, I hope I am misreading your post. I don't usually resp0nd to things like this, but it is bothering me.
1) When someone spikes a drink, it would be rare for anyone else to see it being done.
2)"conveniently" these two people died??/ I found that quite an insensitive statement .... surely you don't mean it the way it came across? I am sure she didn't plan for the two people she may have told to have died.

JMO ... apology if I misunderstood
I thought that when someone spikes the punch at a party it's because everyone wants an alcoholic beverage and it's known to all who attend.

Maybe she selected two dead people to be the ones she told so that no one can ask them now. JMO

Brett has a VERY serious problem if the FBI is allowed to review the emails relating to Ramirez.

He swore under oath that the first he heard of R's allegations was when the New Yorker broke her story.

Whoops. The emails allegedly document that Brett himself contacted friends in JULY to try to get them to refute the allegations.
Any lawyers on the thread? Would the alleged texts/email about Ramirez be witness tampering? Does it go that far?

IDK.

I have, and I don't.

I agree with you.

I was assaulted as a young teen. Many years later, after a particularly heinous crime, I realized a particular person was very likely my rapist. I wanted to go to the prison and confront him. My DH made it clear he didn't think it was a good idea. After 43 years, he sometimes know me better than myself.

No apology necessary .
I am not sure you misunderstood. I was posting about the Swetnick interview when it came on.

She had said prior to this interview that he and Mark spiked the punch as if she actually saw it when it happened. That was in her prior statement per the interviewer Ms. Snow (sorry I don't know Ms. Snows first name. This was the first I have watched msnbc in at least 6 years)

But today her story changed and even the interviewer brought that out. She more or less is assuming he was involved. She didn't put him any room where any rapes supposedly occurred.

And somehow according to her teen boys laughing at a party somehow shows guilt. I think she used that and wanted to copycat Dr Ford's testimony.

I truly did find her interview bizarre. Even Ms. Snow broughtout the inconsistencies and telling her no one has come foward to support any of her claims.

That was all I was doing. Telling what she now says and how Ms Snow said the facts in her interview had
changed since her prior statement.

I've never had any trouble with the NYTimes nor WaPo when I copied their articles -- I do subscribe to both of them, but I can't see where that would make a difference.

Why would Dr. Ford want to say hello to mark judge of all people when he and Brett had her hemmed up in room trying to sexually assault her per her testimony?

It seems she would make sure to avoid him even turning around and leaving the store so she wouldn't come in contact with him?

iirc, wasn't her friend dating him or Kavanaugh or something like that? It's out there somewhere — can't get to the link right now.

I don't know. None of that was mentioned. Was that in her sworn statement? tia

Someone’s testimony and Kavanaugh’s calendar, iirc? Now that I’m in front of a laptop, I’ll see if I can find it again.

Found it. Glad I refreshed my memory. Blasey Ford was dating Squi, according to a schoolmate of Kavanaugh and Judge's. "Squi" is Chris Garrett, part of the documented close circle of friends with Judge, et. al.; he is frequently named in Kavanaugh's calendar.

TK, a schoolmate of Judge's and Kavanaugh's, said it in an interview.

Details in Kavanaugh’s 1982 calendar entry could be scrutinized in FBI investigation

Ford also testified Thursday that she had “socialized” around that time with another boy who Kavanaugh said was present at the July 1 gathering, Chris Garrett, referred to on the calendar as “Squi.”

Garrett did not respond to requests for comment.

[TK — edit mine, Etc], a 1983 graduate of Georgetown Prep who was close friends with Kavanaugh, said in an interview Tuesday that he knew Ford, who he said was dating Garrett at the time.

Kane said Ford was not close with their group and remembered her only as “very young-looking.”

_____

Blasey Ford testified that she saw him working at a grocery store while she was shopping. Judge's past comments about his history backs that he was likely working there. So, to my interpretation, the exchange was probably brief but memorable, imo.

Seems like their social circles intertwined to some degree.

Christine Blasey Ford describes encountering Mark Judge at a supermarket weeks after the alleged assault: 'He looked a little bit ill'

Responding to a question from Sen. Dick Durbin of Illinois, Ford recounted seeing Judge at a Safeway grocery store in suburban Maryland "six to eight weeks" after the alleged assault.

"Mark Judge looked like he was working there and arranging the shopping carts," she said. "I said hello to him, and his face was white and very uncomfortable saying hello back. And we had previously been friendly at the times that we saw each other over the previous two years."

She continued: "I wouldn't characterize him as not friendly — he was just nervous and not really wanting to
speak with me. And he looked a little bit ill."

Harvard Law School has sent out this email tonight:

"Today, Judge Kavanaugh indicated that he can no longer commit to teaching his course in January Term 2019, so the course will not be offered.

Sent on behalf of the Law School’s Curriculum Committee"

Harvard Says Kavanaugh Won’t Be Teaching His 2019 Supreme Court Class | HuffPost
Hmm... I wonder if that was really his choice and if so is he leaving because he thinks he will be stepping into a new position or is he giving up altogether.IMO

for stuff like this background starts with criminal

juvie criminal is sealed

for this nomination only reps only gave 10 percent of the normal stuff for every other sc nomination

the mitch mr mcgoo guy told white house not to nominate him he has too big a paper trail and we need to get someone in right away

they did not listen and chose to just not give the public 90 percent

white house understandably needed the best one that in his past rulings said you cant subpoena a sitting president you cant indict a sitting president a sitting president can pardon the pillbourh doe boy if so desired the sitting president cant not be criminally charged until out of office

those were his rulings for years

that is why this was important

they are not idiots
Well most are not

they know much is gonna have to go through the SC

so they need the one that would rule that way

this has nothing to do with roe (a problem) health insurance (a problem)

bottom line needs to protect his kids and needs a judge in SC that will do that

this guy will as evidenced by his Hillary rant the other day

trust me all the folks facing prison don't care about roe our healthcare the environment they need someone in the sc that will protect the gang

that is ALL this about

what is stunning is they are missing a huge thing

that is why Mueller started tossing everything off to the states

white house cant pardon any state charges

so they are all messed up no matter what

how they don't know that simple law is just bizarre
