Personally, I would not be in a "reflective" mood, if I was accused of the things Judge BK is being accused of.
I would be furious. Add to that, my family and my good name being attacked and I would be scorched earth.
Then having to sit in front of the world, being grilled by the senate about these accusations and my high school drinking?
Pizzed off to the maximum comes to my mind.
"Reflective?" When you and your family are under attack???
Not me.
I am surprised he held it together as well as he did.
Last, but, not least. These people were baiting him from what I watched.
He wisely chose to focus on the charges by Dr. Ford, and ignore the baits.
Smart man. IMO
I've never heard of anyone falsely accused of a serious crime to be "reflective" about it. Why would they be? My husband was appalled at the repetitive questions about high school and college drinking. Once graduated the partying usually stops and the hard work launching a career begins. Clearly, they couldn't come up with anything more recent or relevant. JMO

A person on MSNBC says "We're wondering if FBI means 'Fake Background Investigation.' "
Some of the reporters on there say that they obtained some b/g info that the FBI either did not get, or did not report during the first investigation.

23 page transcript of Senate Judiciary Committee, September 26, interview with Kavanaugh. Troubling details from "Jane Doe"

https://www.judiciary.senate.gov/imo/media/doc/09.26.18 BMK Interview Transcript (Redacted).pdf

.... We plan to discuss two allegations today. The first allegation
comes from Ms. Julie Swetnick, a woman represented by
Michael Avenatti. The second is from someone who goes by
"Jane Doe." She submitted a letter to a senator's office
last week. Judge Kavanaugh, you previously answered a few
questions about Ms. Swetnick's allegations when her
attorney, Mr. Avenatti, made some general statements on
Twitter. Now that we have Ms. Swetnick's declaration, we
would like to follow up with a few additional questions.

I think of all of the times the Obamas were attacked with ugly names or effigies of him hanging from trees.

Or of the gilling and constant villifying that Hillary has endured. They remained with grace, dignity and decorum.

beep beep a new one has called fbi to tell them stuff - they wont call - that indiv retained an attorney to get fbi contact them

PS how it works is msnbc Rachel and Lawrence get the reporters that actually write the stories for the legacy news outlets on air - so you get more info on the breaking news!

starting the think we may end up with a suicide more and more--moo

Swetnick's sworn statement says, "I am aware of other witnesses that can attest to the truthfulness of each of these statements." I wonder if the FBI is talking to her or those witnesses? Especially since she wasn't "included" in the primary list of witnesses the FBI was allowed to interview?

Agree. And I think we'd hear from others on gang rape. There's a level of aggression in that. And intent. And I do not believe that is BK.

He could have thought about how he would respond. Perhaps he did. What I saw was him responding like an angry snob and I'm not impressed. But I guess some people are okay with a Supreme Court Justice behaving like BK did during the hearing. I find him immature, lacking self control, and embarrassing.

If he were reflective, he could have shown patience for the process, calm demeanor, confidence in his innocence, maturity. It's possible to be firm and strong without lashing out and yelling.

In fact, strong people are often calm when confronted. It's a sign of leadership and wisdom, imo, to remain calm, especially in conflict.

Lashing out when angry is a sign on immaturity, imo.

But....we'll disagree. I'm totally okay with that.

This sounds realistically cynical, though, imho. Yes, it's speculation, but it's also an entirely plausible scenario. Unfortunately.
I think he feels that giving up is the same as admitting guilt

he has got to be doing a lot of back channel stuff with the bar association and a lawyer

Wow. I must have missed the story of the rape in a car. Seems to be a pattern with two guys and a hand over the mouth of the victim. What a disgrace. IMO

Well, he certainly isn't doing himself any favors by hanging around, imo.
