Susan Atkins wants out of jail to die...

She may not be at "home" but she also isn't in prision.
She is in a comfy hospital bed with as many pillows as she wants, pain meds she can pump as needed and she can order whatever foods she desires. (if she has any appetite left)
Yes, she is dying, but not in a jail cell...a hospital room, probably a private one too.

Thanks chicoliving.

Los Angeles County District Attorney Steve Cooley said that's where she ought to remain. In a letter to the parole board, Cooley said the nature of Atkins' crimes alone should rule out any release.

He noted that after Atkins stabbed Tate, she tasted her blood and used it to write the word "Pig" on the victim's door.
Los Angeles County prosecutor Patrick Sequeira said the board made the right decision based on the crime Atkins committed. He said he informed Debra Tate and two other family members of the victims.

"They are both relieved and pleased with the decision," Sequeira said. "It obviously doesn't take away the pain for them."

Its good to see that cooler heads prevailed.

I think this was a good and just decision. She was not in need of any further mercy. She is receiving the appropriate care. Having her request for compassionate release denied should bring home to her the fact that she is being punished for the rest of her life for her crimes. She will die imprisoned, as she should be.

I am thankful for this decision - I am sure it would be painful for the relatives of her victims to stomach any kind of compassionate release.

imho

I say release her and then release the dogs. hehehe Let's see if she can outrun them with lung cancer!

Seriously, I am glad to see they did the right thing in this case. She doesn't deserve anything.

Thank you for the link, chicoliving!

Good!
She had no compassion for Sharon Tate. She is a convicted death row inmate. And that is where she should stay, IMO.

I have compassion for anyone with a terminal illness, but getting out of prison will not slow it's progression or keep her from dying from it. Inmates cannot and should not be let out of prison due to their illnesses.

Sorry to seem harsh, but I honestly believe what I have written.

And one leg! I have no compassion for this chick. Her well deserved sentence was LIFE. Let it be.

Your reply made me laugh. I agree. She deserves as much compassion as she gave her victims...which of course...was NONE. Sounds like her death is going to be slow and painful. Poetic justice.

I know that song...I LOVE the Wizard Of Oz!!!

Ding Dong! The Witch is dead. Which old Witch? The Wicked Witch!
Ding Dong! The Wicked Witch is dead.
Wake up - sleepy head, rub your eyes, get out of bed.
Wake up, the Wicked Witch is dead. She's gone where the goblins go,
Below - below - below. Yo-ho, let's open up and sing and ring the bells out.
Ding Dong' the merry-oh, sing it high, sing it low.
Let them know
The Wicked Witch is dead!

How sad.

You all know I am pretty much heartless when it comes to murderers (and others) but I just have great pity for the "Manson women". If the name Manson was not used before her name she would be out.

No flame here. lol
She basically is out pixies.
She is not on death row right now. She is in a comfy hospital bed with really good drugs that all she has to do is push a small button and she is more or less pain free.
One leg was amputated and the other is paralyzed so she isn't going far.
Where she is now is where she will die.

I'm not flaming you but I am confused. Why do you feel pity for the Manson women?

Pixie..you KNOW that I lubs ya...but this person LICKED and tasted her victim's blood, then wrote with it on the wall! I DOUBT when that is revealed at ANY parole hearing for ANY person, that they would let them go. She deserves to die in a lot less humane way than she is being allowed to die. Tate had NO PAIN KILLER to help her pain as SHE died. Sorry, I think this person deserves a LOT WORSE life than she has lived. That poor baby didn't even get his life. :( The reason that "MANSON" stirs such controversy is because it was soooo horrific.

Hell freezes over as pixies and I share a similar opinion. LOL!

The article stated that they were taking a motion to the Court to release her regardless of what the other entities in the compassionate release process recommend. Still - this is such a political hot potato, I can't imagine any judge in the world going out on that limb.

I remember reading Helter Skelter as soon as it was published and being horrified by the crimes these freaks committed. Even so, I can't help having compassion for this woman. I'm a sucker that way.

  • #459
Thanks for the news chico. I'm very happy with this decision. She needs to remain in prison until she takes her last breath, even if she is in a prison hospital.

This woman is a monster. I believe she was before she met Manson and his grooming of her just perpetuated that part of her.

She didn't just kill, she butchered. She tasted the blood of one of her victims. If you read Helter Skelter, you know she also performed an act of molestation on her infant son.

She's a sick, sick, monster who should not have one moment of freedom.
