Found Deceased Susan Lane-Fournier aka "Phoenix" missing since 11/21/24 - vehicle found on Salmon River Road *Arrest*

no protection orders in Oregon? Or is it just too easy for your crazy soon-to-be Ex to hunt you down and shoot you dead no matter how many pieces of paper you have? guess he threatened her before if she was in fear.
Moo..
I think they were still sharing place. And unless there is violence it is hard to get restraining order because of fear of maybe. Restraining orders kinda work. But if he had no known history of violence, it would be hard to get one. The people who hurt children or pets to hurt their partner are not strong people. I do not think jail will be a pleasant place for him.....moo

He wasn’t living there but he was allowed to work on the property during business hours. MOO

Phoenix, 61, grew up in Vallejo, Calif., and attended University of the Pacific. She had two sons, Jesse and Dakota "Kota" Lane, before meeting her late husband, Fred. Fred died unexpectedly in a car accident after they’d moved to Kansas.
Phoenix later met Michel Fournier and they moved to Oregon and married.
According to Jesse Lane, it was after the tragedy of losing Fred that she renamed herself Phoenix to symbolize how she was rising from the ashes of misfortune.

“I was there when the police showed up and told her there’s been an accident, your husband is dead from a car accident,” Jesse Lane shared with those gathered on Dec. 2. “I remember her scream; I remember her collapsing on the ground. I remember it shaking her to her core. I remember her now being a single mom, trying to take care of two kids. And that’s when she renamed herself: Phoenix.”

I guess if her dogs were divorcing him I might think that was part of the reason....... But they weren't and I don't......
He knew those dogs were her world though - it could’ve been his cruel & sadistic way of getting back at her.

She took them to work with her as she feared for their safety - so there had been a threat made towards them previously.

Phoenix grew up in the Bay just like much of my family. Looks like she was also a Lord of the Rings fan judging by the pups' names. ♥
It makes me so desperately sad and angry that not only was this strong, vibrant woman stolen from the world this way but that she was afraid for her life for weeks and months leading up to her death. I wish something had been done to protect Phoenix before this heartless scum did what he did. He hunted and killed her like an animal. He deserves to suffer.

What a beautiful article about Phoenix. And what a tragic loss for the community. She was clearly loved.

By all accounts she was a tremendously talented artist and beloved community member.
Some of her art can be seen here on the FB page dedicated to finding Susan. There's a Solstice Sound Bath scheduled for 12/22 at the Hoodland Bazaar where Phoenix worked.

Court records obtained by the Oregonian/OregonLive show that Susan Lane-Fournier filed to divorce her husband of 12 years on Nov. 7, about two weeks before she and her two dogs went missing. Court documents cite “irreconcilable differences” as the reason for the divorce, but the divorce case was still open at the time of her disappearance.

I found this article that has a little more information about the husband's whereabouts on the day of Susan's death...

Fournier said he last saw his wife at home about 9 a.m. and that her truck was home that day. He denied driving it.

However, according to the affidavit, investigators found surveillance video that showed Fournier driving his wife’s truck that day in Gresham and Portland; the affidavit says Lane-Fournier’s dogs were with Fournier in the truck.

Police tracked Lane-Fournier’s last phone signal to an area near the Columbia River, where her phone was later recovered, the affidavit says. Surveillance video showed the truck was in the area around that time.

Authorities have said little about the circumstances surrounding Lane-Fournier’s death; an indictment alleges Fournier used a gun to kill his wife. The Multnomah County Sheriff’s Office subsequently found the woman’s dead dogs; investigators have not revealed how they died.

On Jan. 27, Clackamas County Circuit Court Judge Cody Weston presided over a hearing called by Fournier’s court-appointed defense, Shannon Kmetic. Kmetic alleged that by responding to a request by Fournier and visiting him in jail where they conducted an interview without counsel present, two Clackamas County Sheriff’s Office detectives violated her client’s sixth amendment right to counsel
