Wasn't the shoe size of the perp an unusual size, 9eee??? Perhaps one of the regular posters has the info.

Incorrect. Jared has always stated it was a center consule automatic. Its in the report. You were mistaken.

Agreed this is huge. I had no idea until today this pervert was conclusively linked to the Cold Springs case. I am sick there is a SOL i place.

Can anyone tell which part of the car the pic in the lower left corner is from? I can't seem to orientate myself on that pic...where in the car is that?!?

Also, I mentioned this in the other thread....but notice the transmission shifter is in the middle, and didn't Jared say that it was up on the steering wheel??? Weird

That's incorrect. I've been saying that for years.

Then I apologize, I missed it. But aside from the cars being blue, is there any other evidence they were the same? I just want to be clear on what lines could be drawn between DR's sighting of the small blue car and the one used in abducting Jared besides the color.

Dan saw the car for maybe 5 seconds. Being a 4 door, blue compact is pretty good rememberance from his vantage point upstairs. There was also the report of the 2 other boys being chased in St Joe before the abduction in a blue car as well.

It's been rumored for years that the boys were groped, and now we have confirmation. I read the whole document as well - so disturbing. And yet SO FRUSTRATING that they've known about this guy from the very beginning and never had enough to make him a public POI

The document stated that he lived with his father at the time of the abduction. It's probably stating the obvious, but I hope LE did some digging at the father's place of residence.

Apologies, was trying to reply to the above. He was living with his mother at the time of the abduction. Immediately after the abduction he moved out of his mother's home and into his father's basement (around 15 Nov).

Is there a statute of limitations on kidnapping? He did kidnap Jared. Maybe they can charge him with kidnapping in Jared's case.

No, statute has expired. That is the quandry.

Wow I had no idea up until now this guy was positively linked to the Cold Springs abduction. It sickens me they cannot charge him due to a SOL. If they just now linked him they should be able to charge him.

That is the frustrating part. Based on common sense it is kind of obvious, but without DNA or anything else, "consistent" prints won't get you anywhere. They tried to pin the Jared abduction on him once already and he walked. They weren't about to pin the JEW abduction on him without something strong, regardless of how sure they were.

Ok lets see if i have this all correct .so we have jacob wetterling abduction and then there was records of another child like a week later in the same area...so from the 2 abduction the police got DNA . and it was a match for the 2nd child.and now since they allways believed the 2 were related crimes. that they are suggesting this guy must of did the JW kidnapping also...it that whats going on here if not and u have time to lay this out for me i would appreciate it very much.

9 months before the JEW abduction another victim was abducted and released. The attacker left DNA on his clothes. At the time the technology required to match that DNA to any living person didn't exist. It was only available about a year ago (for this particular kind of test). So, 9 months later JEW was abducted with a very similar sounding attacker, so much so that LE used the composite from the first kidnapping as the composite for the JEW kidnapping. Well, JEW was never released. That was October 1989 and here we are today. So, pretty darn obvious this guy abducted the first boy. And if you know the history of this case, you should be pretty convinced that whoever abducted the first boy abducted JEW also.

Nine months before Jacob was abducted, another boy was abducted and raped. That boy was set free. DNA evidence taken from a sleeve of the shirt that he wore has been identified as belonging to Heinrich.

*After* the abduction he moved in with his father and another 17 year-old. At the time of the abduction he was living with his mother, so both houses should be searched. My own take is that the bulk of the evidence will be found in Richmond, not in a house.
