Not a US resident so my appreciation of Minnesotan geography may be lacking but Onamia appears to be off the beaten track. Is the assumption that Mrs VB (and ?family) were heading to Canada? If so, where would they be most likely to cross?

In print, I've only seen her mentioned as being detained briefly and let go. But on this video, KARE says she was arrested.

I like in Minnesota and travel to Canada every summer. I’m betting she would go to the crossing in Grand Portage. We’ve crossed there many times and I can assure you, the border patrol agents don’t mess around. They would be waiting for them.

Onamia is like one of countless small towns dotting Minnesota, but it's very much in line with Green Isle toward International Falls.

It's seems possible to me that she left home beforw she knew there were murders and a manhunt. He may have sent her a text similar to what he sent his roommates, directing her to ... whatever he directed her to. Maybe all she knew was he'd "done something bad" -- which could be all kinds of things that don't involve shooting people to death. It's possible she helped him access another car without knowingly aiding and abetting. Reserving judgment until we learn more.

SIBLEY COUNTY, Minn. — The possible belongings of Vance Boelter, the suspect in the fatal shooting of MN Rep. Melissa Hortman and her husband Mark, appear to have been located by law enforcement.

What appears to be Boelter's cowboy hat and a vehicle of interest were found along the roadside in Sibley County, according to the Minnesota State Patrol.

Sounds like a location where he switched vehicles to get out of town. Might have met his wife there as it would be a familiar area to both of them. She must have dropped him off somewhere, then headed towards Canada, where LE intercepted her. He was probably heading a different direction.

Maybe he got another vehicle, burner phone, etc. I assume US Marshals are on the job doing a lot of data analysis.

ETA: Green Isle in Sibley is the locale of their farm, where they lived for several years. LE was searching the farm yesterday. Not sure if they still own it.

I believe reports said she was not detained at this point. Now, reports coming out in the last hour or so are saying "breaking news" which includes that his wife has now been arrested. I wonder where she was taken into custody? Was it near where she was yesterday (heading north)? Or was it at the family home? Somewhere else?

When the news started breaking about finding his car & hat, I was wondering if his wife was driving one direction to be a decoy for him heading a different direction. And it's almost like he left the hat as a joke or "calling card", a kind of "catch me if you can" to LE. (If he even left it. VB seems to have previous links to the military, Lebanon, Gaza, DRC and Walz to name a few.

Tin foil hat at the ready but is it possible VB also has links to the US security community? CIA and the like......?

That said, from what I have read here and elsewhere, VB seems both organised and prepared and the exact opposite (unless that is a ruse).

I'm currently watching Kare 11 News live stream. The reporter just connected that he called and spoke to her and that she was detained and released. She hung up right away. Nothing else was said. I'm looking for a decent link so for now only my opinion.

One more question, do you think the three people with her were their children? If so, how sad.

All of the reporting that I have seen so far states that she was traveling with "three relatives." So people are assuming that she was traveling with three of her children, possibly adult children, or near-adult children, we just don't know.

KARE is the station that reported (twice) that she had been arrested this morning.
Very strange - I wonder if it was actually JB that the reporter spoke to on the phone?
