SUSPECT IN CUSTODY MN - 2 Minnesota lawmakers and their spouses were shot by someone impersonating a police officer, JUNE 13,2025

  • #501
It seems his wife (with three other people in the car) was stopped for a few hours by LE yesterday. There were guns, cash, & passports in the vehicle according to reports. I believe reports said she was not detained at this point. Now, reports coming out in the last hour or so are saying "breaking news" which includes that his wife has now been arrested. I wonder where she was taken into custody? Was it near where she was yesterday (heading north)? Or was it at the family home? Somewhere else?

When the news started breaking about finding his car & hat, I was wondering if his wife was driving one direction to be a decoy for him heading a different direction. And it's almost like he left the hat as a joke or "calling card", a kind of "catch me if you can" to LE. (If he even left it. I wonder if he passed it off to someone who was aiding/abetting who then placed it there as another decoy.) IMO.
The Star-Tribune reported that the wife (and occupants, which the Star-Tribune describes as two young women and a young man) were stopped near a convenience store off Hwy. 169 in Onamia between 10:30 and 11 a.m. on Saturday and that occupants of the vehicle left with officers from MN Bureau of Criminal Apprehension. However, later in the article they note that a MN Dept. of Public Safety spokesman told them Sunday morning that the wife was not in custody.

Keep checking in on this case, desperately hoping he has been apprehended.

Any locals on here? What are the challenges of searching for a fugitive in this particular area?

KARE is the station that reported (twice) that she had been arrested this morning.
Very strange - I wonder if it was actually JB that the reporter spoke to on the phone?
IMO.
Who knows? He seemed fairly confident that she was not in custody. She's not listed in custody at this time and that was per CNNs update (and my own tells down the rabbit home).

If two young women and a young man were traveling with VB's wife when they were stopped in Onamia, then they very well could be three of their children. They have four daughters and a son, ages unknown.

Maybe their reporting was wrong and she called in to set the record straight. Imo

"Praetorianism means excessive or abusive political influence of the armed forces in a country. The word comes from the Roman Praetorian Guard, who became increasingly influential in the appointment of Roman emperors."

I'm surprised he's still unaccounted for. Usually these end with quick apprehension, suicide, or suicide by cop.

The biggest challenge IMO us that he had the headstart. He might already be out of the area.

The area is dotted with small towns, farms, newly planted fields, wooded areas here and there, lots of back roads, county roads in and out.

Where he is, whether he has a vehicle or is on foot. Even as they do their searches, they're getting new information and adjusting.

KARE11 just said Mrs. is not in custody.

I'm always amazed at how little planning these killers do when it comes to escape...assuming they want to. This guy either had some plans to evade capture, or he's real desperate right now.

It's hard to speculate, however, KARE11 is reporting there is huge police presence at his home in Greeen Isle. That area on 301st and 25 is a little over 8 miles away from there.

I'd say he's in desperate mode....or, he's done a good job of planting evidence to lead LE off his trail.

Prediction: he will get caught trying to steal a hat or bug spray.

VB has obviously been able to get "police" vehicles, weapons, uniforms, etc. because of his company. Additionally, he has had access to various cars (that I guess his company or his family owns). His wife was stopped with guns, money, & passports. I wonder if he &/or she have burner phones? If so, how many? How often is he switching phones? Does he have allies (maybe amongst anti-abortionists since that seems to be a possible motive) who are helping him? I think he planned for a lot of contingencies & is using various methods/equipment/etc. that he set-up ahead of time in order to evade LE & avoid capture.

MOO.

They just said that's old footage. They don't want to broadcast locations live, to protect LE.

Guessing there is LE all over Sibley County, some at the home, some south of there. Toward Jordan.

IMO he's either on the move, outside the county, with a significant lead, or he's hidden himself in a structure somewhere.

I doubt he intends to be caught alive.

Also, someone might have picked him up, in which case he is gone from the area.
Might have a had a back up plan with someone if things went sideways.

There was discussion on KARE11 relative to the "manifesto". They described it more in terms of a list of names. From what I gather, the names on the list are somewhat confusing in terms of they may not necessarily fit with common perception in terms of this guys motives, other than it appears he was indeed pro life.

MOO He killed the Democrat who was speaker of the house. Pretty clear politics, maybe a bit hodge podgey in addition to his clear assassination intentions.
It was a very misleading description in the beginning.

On the website for a company called Praetorian Guard Security Services, LLC, Boelter described himself as part of the "leadership team."

NPR found no record of the firm having clients or providing any services. A call to the company's phone number connected to what appears to be a private phone line, not a business. The address listed in incorporation papers appeared to be that of a law firm specializing in divorce litigation.

Boelter himself appears to have no history working in law enforcement, the military or private security.

VB seems to have previous links to the military, Lebanon, Gaza, DRC and Walz to name a few.

Tin foil hat at the ready but is it possible VB also has links to the US security community? CIA and the like......?

That said, from what I have read here and elsewhere, VB seems both organised and prepared and the exact opposite (unless that is a ruse).

Getting a fishy smell from this whole affair
I'm getting the same scent here. His LinkedIn employment list is longer than a CVS receipt and most of it makes no sense.
Per his LinkedIn, he was a GM at 7/11 in Minneapolis from 4/16 to 11/21
Per Indeed, the average annual salary for a GM at 7/11 is under $53,000. (If he had a higher-level mgt position, he'd be at HQ in Texas, not at a store in Minneapolis.)
Also per his LinkedIn, he is currently (from 12/21 to present) the CEO of Red Lion Group in the DRC. which doesn't have a current website. The US travel advisory is currently at 4 since 1/25, and before that at 3 since 2018. I can't find any record of when he traveled to do work for this company with a dead website. And how does one go from 7/11 GM to CEO?
