Given everything published thus far in MSM, I don't believe the suspect's motives or political beliefs are mysterious or convoluted. A manifesto, a hitlist, a pile of protest locations to hit, multiple videos of sermons. How explicit does he have to be?

Yes, this seems like a tragic, horrific, but not entirely unpredictable extension of a political ideology that dehumanizes those they disagree with as "the enemy" and other pseudo-military approaches to politics. The timing/day chosen is clearly not a coincidence either.

No human should face assassination for merely being a public servant in a multiparty republic, but I fear that's the direction we're heading unless things change significantly - and quickly - in the US's political rhetoric.

If he's in and out of jobs, he's also in and out of access to health care. Its hard for anyone to know someone is mentally ill if they don't interact with the health care system. Cradle to grave health care coverage goes a long way towards helping identify and treat people with mental health problems.

His mental health issues have probably gone undiagnosed or not properly treated.

Why do you assume he has mental health issues? There are nasty evil people who kill and many of them are not mentally ill-- he was apparently strongly anti abortion and he targeted pro choice people--among others---that does not point to mental illness to me--i consider him a cold blooded cunning evil killer

In response to question from a reporter about whether or not Boelter may have attempted to target another lawmaker, BCA says “there are other individuals that may have been targeted”
