I still don't understand why he's stayed so close to home. Anyone else would have left the state days ago. I'm hoping that he doesn't have more targets in the area.

Not so much targets as desperation. Will eventually break in some home to steal a car to leave the state. Danger to the home owner. Leaving successfully will require another "helper" to drive him far away and set up with some gang acquaintance there to assimilate.
Harsh statement, but at the rate his cronies are being arrested (assuming they all are ganged up) LE will have arrested nearly all the criminal element in Jackson.

Oh for sure. And it wouldn't surprise me if more people have helped than have been arrested. These guys do tend to hang out where their support systems are. Crazy to stay though. Can't go on much longer, and there's a massive danger that this ends very badly.

Since it looks like he's laying low during the day (where?) and on the move at night, I hope that LE is using thermal imagery or something to try to track him.
It's really scary that he looks so nonchalant in those videos. He doesn't appear to be stressed or scared at all, and that's terrifying.
The whole community is in danger.
He has nothing to lose.

People do all kinds of things you don't expect or makes sense. There was the couple who were headed to her induction of their baby and stopped to do a dealon the way. The killer was a 17 yo who was helped by his father after he murdered them. Happened in Texas (if I am recalling correctly). They were murdered over a drug deal.

I am not sure that we will ever really know exactly why they were killed even if they take this monster alive. Whatever was going on , the killer was methodical and planned. These people went to this site without thinking it was going to get them killed but probably had been there before. JMHO.

He has several serious pending charges, and I do think those likely play a role in these murders somehow, especially since his next hearing was scheduled for this month.

He has at least one prior conviction for retaliation after the act, so that indicates he has a history of going after someone who either testified against him, turned him in, informed on him, or in some other way helped nail him for his crimes.

Yeah, it is nothing to do with gangs. Watch any figure skating event and you'll see dozens of young people from all over the world doing it in the kiss and cry while they're waiting for their scores.

It's especially popular in Japan.

The retaliation after the act charges were for threatening the victim and all of the jurors who convicted him of theft (of $44 from a Circle K). (source)

I also believe these murders were probably in some way related to his other pending charges. (I really don't think the Vice Lords ordered him to wipe out this family... it puts way too much attention and scrutiny on them, and to what end?) JMO.

wouldn't be surprised at all if one of the four arrests is the person who took the baby to safety. I can see a scenario where drug deal went wrong, he realises he has 4 dead, rings someone in a panic about the baby. They come and take the baby and gives him supplies and time.

Gang Signs?
Exactly, these former ‘gang’ signs are now used by preteens and teens all over the place.
It has become as a popular as saying ‘cheese’ to smile for the camera.
They are clueless those signs once had meaning, or may still have meaning, for gangs.

Can a local please describe the area? I know Jackson is a city but surrounding areas might be sparsely populated - how thick are the woods. I’ve seen people mention poison ivy, very hot (humid?) - are there snakes or dangerous animals? Do kids hunt there, could he have survival youth experience?

I’m trying to understand how someone who has spent so many years in prison, is managing to survive with I don’t know how many LE aggressively looking, all the tech LE has plus canine search teams & not to mention the community - even people outside the US are looking!!! How is he evading capture? He’s in areas with ring cameras!
