SUSPECT IN CUSTODY TN - 4 people found deceased, related to an infant abandoned in car seat in someone's yard (Dyer County, TN) 29 July 2025

I have never heard KS is in jail? Surely this would be all over the media?
It was states many times in social media early on, but many many people stated that this was not so

Do you have a MSM link about KS being currently in jail? Or a link to the jail or prison where she’s being housed?

It was states many times in social media early on, but many many people stated that this was not so

I cannot find solid info either way. Some say she's in jail for her involvement with Austin Drummond, other's say she was fired or forced to resign over it. I also read that she was officially fired for not attending work, because the prison would not admit to the actual reason.
I suspect this case has far more complexities than the general public are ever likely to learn.

Bringing this post forward from a few pages back. About Kaitlyn Speed:

Post in thread 'SUSPECT IN CUSTODY TN - 4 people found deceased, related to an infant abandoned in car seat in someone's yard (Dyer County, TN) 29 July 2025' SUSPECT IN CUSTODY TN - 4 people found deceased, related to an infant abandoned in car seat in someone's yard (Dyer County, TN) 29 July 2025

FOX13 previously reported that a family member confirmed that Drummond was in a relationship with Kaitlyn Speed, the sister of Cortney Rose, one of the Lake County murder victims. Photos posted to Drummond's Facebook page after his release show the two on top of the Memphis Pyramid.

Throughout the week long manhunt, law enforcement did not name Speed as an accomplice and has provided no information on her location.

Kaitlyn is possibly under protective custody in an undisclosed location. She might know too much about the drug dealing etc.

Here is some clarity on Powell's involvement with Drummond. As I read the article, Powell's arrest stems from an incident on June 19. Details in the article. It sounded to me like Drummond was the "boss" of this situation and Powell was assisting to deliver items via drone. That's why Powell's in jail. Not because of involvement in the murders.

I missed this.

Authorities said Drummond spent part of his time on the run hiding in a vacant pool house in Jackson, FOX13 Memphis reported. A caretaker who encountered Drummond there said he was confronted at gunpoint, according to police.

"I hit the ground, scrambled, and took off running," the caretaker told FOX13. "He took off running. He ran toward me at first, which really made me take off. I spooked him."

The article said that "a family member" of Drummond's girlfriend was the target. Is there any link to that information? Which one of the 4 was the target? I have not read anything about a motive yet.

it says "Police said on Tuesday that it was the family members of Drummond's girlfriend who had been targeted."

Family members not family member.

It is just describing the relationship between the killer and victims.

Another thing that I think keeps getting confused is people thinking he was sentenced to 13 years for robbing the store. He wasn't. The additional years to his original sentence were for threatening to go after jurors.

"After a jury convicted Drummond of one count of aggravated robbery, he threatened to go after jurors during a parole hearing. He pleaded guilty in February 2015 to 13 counts of retaliation for past action, according to AP."

I am not seeing where this shows the victims were caught up in drugs. Granted, this whole things is such a mess and they may have been. But I see page 1 in these documents is the girl they arrested for accessory. Pages 2 and 3 appear to be the incident with Drummond and Powell back in June when they were pulled over for attempting to make a delivery to the prison. As I interpret it - again, my opinion only - they have not yet directly tied Powell to the murders/this case yet, but they moved forward with those charges so they could lock him up. They might tie him to it before it is over, but to my knowledge the Dyer Co. Sheriff’s Office and TBI have still only announced the 3 people in connection to the case at this point.

The rest of the pages are the murder charges and I see nothing about drugs. I certainly may be missing it but I don’t see anything to indicate the victims were caught up in drugs in these documents. It certainly may come out to be the case in the trial. I just can’t wrap my head around why they (the 4 victims) would have 3 vehicles there for that purpose. It’s just all so terribly sad, whatever happened.
I looked up the father of Cortney's two kids who were killed, and he is in prison for theft, not drug charges. I was working on the assumption that they were killed to avenge something he was doing. He may have gotten involved in drugs in prison, so if you have other information, please post it.

This group is especially difficult for me. So many different last names. Adrianna and Braydon both have the last name Williams. The obit lists paternal grandparents who have the last name Williams yet their father is listed as Brandon Keith Long. On his prison record, Williams shows as an alias. I'm at a loss as to why Williams would be an alias for him yet be his parents' and children's legal names.

I have had to adjust my thinking about what goes on in prison. Naive person that I am, never in my wildest dreams did I realize that drugs and other contraband got delivered to prisoners via drone.

I also saw in Drummond's parole file that he joined the Vice Lords while in prison. He's been out less than a year so, I'm guessing he went to prison, had nothing better to do, so joined the gang and started taking orders for contraband while incarcerated, and the VLs delivered them via drone. Then he gets out and begins making deliveries via drone himself, as evidenced by the June incident where he fled and threw stuff out the window rather than be pulled over.

I'm trying to figure out what Long could possibly have done in or out of prison that would cause Drummond to kill his girlfriend's mother, sister and children. The prison holds mostly drug offenders, with a limited number of violent offenders. Drummond said he spent at least part of his sentence in Maximum Custody, in his cell 23 hours a day. That makes me wonder how they cold have spend much time together.

RBBM.
We cannot sleuth family members unless they are involved in the crime.

My office will seek justice with the death penalty in the case against Austin Drummond for the murders of James Wilson (21), Adrianna Williams (20), Braydon Williams (15), and Cortney Rose (38).

This heinous crime in Tiptonville has also left a 7-month-old infant girl without her parents, her uncle and grandmother.

TIPTONVILLE, Tenn. (AP) — Three people charged with helping a Tennessee man accused of fatally shooting four people are suspected of providing him with shelter, phones and rides as he evaded authorities after the killings, a prosecutor said Thursday.

"During the court appearance, the judge denied a request from Drummond to remove a protection order so he could speak with his girlfriend, a relative of the family members killed."

This will sound silly but asking to have a protection order removed so you can speak to the person whose Mother, sister, BIL and nephew you are accused of murdering is not only downright bizarre, it's in poor taste.

Could be an intimidation tactic?

Not the person’s mother, but her sister, and the sister’s son, daughter and daughter’s boyfriend.
