SUSPECT IN CUSTODY TN - 4 people found deceased, related to an infant abandoned in car seat in someone's yard (Dyer County, TN) 29 July 2025

  • #741
Another thing that is puzzling is that the victims appear to have been shot around 7am, but after this AD took the baby, met up with another gang member, dumped the F150 in a ravine, picked up a rental car, and then returned to the murder scene around 1pm in time to be spotted by the park ranger. Still with the baby, apparently.

Returning to the scene where you shot four people (hours afterwards) is either brave or stupid, and I'm leaning toward the latter.

After all this, he dumped the baby on someone's lawn and went to spend some quality time with his parents and then his girlfriend (who's family he'd just shot). I wonder what they talked about?

So many questions.

For starters, if the victims were involved in dropping contraband into the prison (LE says family told LE they were), was this a "regular time" for the drops? I think it is. Otherwise, I'm not sure they all would have shown up for such an early meet-up.

Is there a prison guard shift change at this time?

Who was on the other end of the drop-off, expecting the delivery? Are prisoners out in the yard so early? I wouldn't think so, but maybe a special prisoner who gets "alone time." Regardless, someone who works there had to expect the delivery. And they would then make sure the delivery was moved to the proper recipient or recipients. If prisoners are in the yard, employees are turning a blind eye to an obvious drug drop and prisoners know it. This is a bigger case than it appears on the surface.

When did KS know what AD did to her family? I can't imagine finding out he did this to my family and came over afterwards to spend time with me. What could she possibly want to say to AD that she asked for the court's permission to contact him? I'm glad her request was denied, but if she's going to be called as a witness, I don't think she should be allowed to speak to his family either.

I am so sad a 15-year-old kid was a part of this, in whatever way, and was ultimately executed. That is as cold-blooded as it gets.

This entire case is disturbing on so many levels.

I finally watched the preliminary hearing and took some notes.

NOTES
- AD asked Giovante's girlfriend to reserve a rental car for him the night before the murders
- Giovante girlfriend Michelle reserved a silver Nissan Rogue from the Enterprise in Jackson, TN on 7/28/2025 and picked it up on the morning of 7/29/2025
- Brayden purchased the burner phone ending in 7426 and camo tarps at the Walmart in Dyersburg on the evening of 7/28/2025
- Brayden was known to drive the black Charger and his mom was known to drive the white Traverse
- Brayden and Cortney (and I assume AD) are the first to arrive at the crime scene shortly after 6:30 AM
- Adrianna, Matthew, and the baby arrive roughly 20 minutes later
- Brayden and Cortney were found together under a tarp in a wooded area nearing the parking area at the end of Carrington Drive and Adrianna and Matthew were found together under a tarp on the opposite side of the gravel road in the woods (roughly 60 feet apart from each other)
- all 4 victims died from gunshot wounds
- Cortney was shot in the head at least once, Brayden was shot in the back of the head, Adrianna was shot in the head, and Matthew was shot 11 times in multiple places
- multiple shell casings were found around the vehicles
- none of the victims were active on their phones after 7:01 am (Adrianna received a call from the burner phone at that time)
- the burner phone was activated and used at the crime scene for the first time
- the burner phone and one of the victim's phones (I'm assuming Matthew or Adrianna's) traveled to the Bikini Bottoms area after they left the crime scene
- search parties located a paper copy of Matthew's driver's license on the first day of searching and his truck was found in a ravine the following day
- the burner phone then traveled to the Clarion Hotel in Jackson before stopping at the Cherry Grove Apartments (where his girlfriend --and Cortney's sister-- lives) before heading back to Dyersburg
- the Clarion was a place AD frequently resided and often used to organize criminal activity
- he picked up his Audi at the Clarion and dropped it off at the apartments; he also obtained cleaning brushes from the apartment
- he then traveled back to the crime scene before dropping the baby off in the yard
- Giovante's girlfriend Michelle told LE that Tanaka Brown met AD in Bikini Bottoms and gave him a ride back to Jackson and helped him push Matthew's truck in the ravine
- Brown also stopped at Walmart in Jackson to buy gloves, bleach, and trash bags at AD's request during the 3-way call
- Brown picked up AD and the baby from Bikini Bottoms and drove them to the Clarion to pick up AD's Audi. He followed them to the Cherry Grove Apartments to drop the Audi off and then drove them back to Brown's to retrieve the rented Rogue
- multiple caliber casings were found in the area because the area is often used for target practice
- a family member told LE the victims were at the location to introduce contraband to the correctional facility
- no contraband was found at the scene

**MY NOTE -- I hope LE isn't relying on the sole word of AD's girlfriend (if she's "the family member" who said the victims were there to introduce contraband to the jail). In fact, it seems very weird to me that his girlfriend wasn't a part of this contraband operation if that's truly why her family was there.**

Thank you! This is great work and so beneficial to see a timeline. I wonder who helped AD with the baby from 7am until 2:30 pm? That's 7 ½ hours-she would have needed to be fed at the very least. I am really interested in what AD's GF did that day.

My opinion is it was Matt’s mum or dad that was the family member that told them about the drops. It was after all Matt’s mum that went looking for them and found their cars at the location.

That makes sense. Jackson's not a big population center (70K people) but still a lot of area to cover (around 60 sq miles not including rural areas outside of town) without any idea of where someone is. It's pretty revealing that they knew to look there.

I'm very interested that AD's travels that day took him back to KD apartment, and even more so that KS wants to talk to him. I'm assuming it's not so she can tell him what a monster he is. It appears she is no genius either.

One other things I'm curious about is whether the members of the family who announced how wonderful AD had been to them are the same family members who knew these folks were all delivering contraband to the prison. I am starting to get a similar vibe to what we see on TV when a young person is arrested for murder and their family talks about what a good boy they are.

The information to look there apparently came from one of Matt's friends so I am not in anyway insinuating that his Mum or Dad knew about the drops (I don't know either way but don't want it to seem that way if its not true). IMO Matt's mum was desperate to find him and maybe reached out to the friends she knew how to contact and that is what lead her to that spot.

The family member that put that gushing post up about AD was just doing damage control IMO. She deleted it pretty quickly and it also contained false information about KS and AD relationship. I honestly think maybe she and her husband were completely in the dark about these activities and is why so many of her posts were posted and then deleted not long after. Possibly after she found out a bit more of the truth. MOO

COMPREHENSIVE TIMELINE of 7/29/2025

6:27 AM - the black Dodge Charger is seen on video at the fire station on HWY 78 heading north toward the crime scene with the white Chevy Traverse following behind it

BRIEF SYNOPSIS OF TESTIMONY

OFFICER COREY HUSSY - PARK RANGER
- noticed 3 vehicles (black Dodge Charger, white Chevy Traverse, silver Nissan Rogue with CA tag) parked on the left side of Carrington Road sometime after 1 PM
- the cars were found roughly one mile from the correctional facility in Lake County
- the trunk of the Charger was open the first time he passed the vehicles but was closed when he drove back by
- the Nissan Rogue was also gone on his return trip (roughly 3 minutes later)
- he didn't see anyone inside or outside any of the vehicles

DEPUTY HUNTER BRADY - LAKE COUNTY SHERIFF'S DEPT
8 PM - family member called 911 after they located the vehicles
- he responded to Carrington Rd with two other officers
- located the black Charger and white Traverse and noticed blood on the passenger side of the Traverse
- noticed a shoe with blood on it behind the vehicle (on the trail side), walked into the woods, and discovered two bodies covered with a camo tarp
- Brayden was found laying on his back under his mother Cortney
- multiple shell casings were located around the vehicles
- a Dyer Counter deputy located another shoe on the opposite side of the road and observed pools of blood
- Matthew and Adrianna were located under the same type of camo tarp in the woods on the opposite side of the road
- the bodies were roughly 60 feet apart

DETECTIVE BRANDON WHEELER
- was working to ID a vehicle of interest (the silver Nissan Rogue with CA tag)
- accessed tag readers from multiple counties and obtained 4 images dated 7/29/2025
11:32 am - rear view
12:39 pm - rear view driving north in Dyersburg at the intersection of Lake Rd and Radio Rd (between Loves and Cracker Barrel)
2:15 pm - rear view driving south in Dyersburg at the intersection of Lake Rd and Radio Rd
4:16 pm - front view image taken from tag reader in Jackson, TN; the driver was visible and looked like AD; the vehicle also appeared much dirtier in this image

FBI SPECIAL AGENT SCOTT LAWSON
- conducted the cell phone analysis and video review
- analyzed the incoming and outgoing calls from the victim's phone logs
- the victims arrived at the crime scene at various times
- looked for phone numbers that communicated with the victims right before the video sightings
- found a number that had never communicated with the victims before
- Rogue was rented in Jackson on AD's behalf the day before and picked up the morning of the homicides
- vehicle was rented by Giovante's girlfriend Michelle
- believes evidence was disposed of in Bikini Bottoms

TBI SPECIAL AGENT JUSTIN TUBBS
- Dodge Charger is known to be driven by Brayden
- Chevy Traverse is known to be driven by Cortney
- Tiptonville FD had video of vehicles arriving at the scene and video of Matthew's truck leaving the scene about 30 minutes later
- at the end of the gravel Carrington Rd is an area used as a parking lot (which is where vehicles were found) and behind that is the wooded area
- lead agent on the case

Brilliant post that does a ton of work and tests the limits of the possible in terms of what can actually be known about these senseless murders.

Still seems to me that these must be retaliatory in nature, since the motive seems on brand for AD, given the apparent chaos of his thinking.

The how seems to be emerging. The why will remain mostly mysterious, to me at least, since no version of it is likely to make sense to me.

Seems clear also that something needs to be done to close the contraband business flourishing at this prison, esp given its alleged connections to these murders and other crimes linked to it.

Is it possible that AD and anyone who collaborated with him believed this crime would go undetected? Was AD intending to further dispatch of the vehicles and bodies to the point it could be perceived everyone has 'disappeared' and he'd been left holding the baby?

I'm so confused!

The poor baby was completely alone in the small hours (and I assume cold) for at least 35 minutes prior the 911 call. Was the baby supposed to be collected by someone else? Had she been left there as a temporary measure and then AD or associate was intending to collect her again?

Is it possible this entire crime is about trying to kidnap and / or traffick or sell a baby?
Or that AD wanted to 'start a family' with his GF and acquire a baby?

If the whole point of the crime was to steal a large drug (or cash or some other high value contraband) drop that was due to be droned in or out of prison this seems a wholly reckless and insane way of going about things and since four people are murdered in cold blood then why wouldn't the baby have been killed too?

BBM

I wonder if those posts were set up by detectives?

OR whether the family members were publicly declaring allegiance in the hope of also not being slaughtered by AD or any gang related associates he may have?

She was left alone in the middle of the afternoon (on a very hot day) but whoever dropped her off beeped the horn and pointed alerting people to her being there

Oh, I thanks for clarification, I mistakenly thought she was placed in the small hours overnight.

From todays bond hearings for all those that are charged with accessory after the fact (except Tanaka Brown who has a separate hearing I think on Friday)

Giovante Thomas & Michelle Ovelis (boyfriend & girlfriend)

28 July @ 7.44pm
- MO hires AD a car after he shows up at their apartment while GT is at work and asks her to. He gives her $600 for the car hire and tells her to keep whatever is left. She ends up with about $150.

29 July @ approx 7am - AD calls GT from the burner phone purchased by Brayden the night before the murders and asks him to link Tanaka Brown in on a 3 way call. On that call AD asks TB to come and pick him up and be quick.

What is interesting to me here is that the other 15 calls that were placed from AD to GT in the space of an hour that morning (I think between 9-10am if I remember correctly) were not raised at all at the hearing this morning.

Apparently GT and AD went to high school together but that's their only connection, not recently (makes absolutely no sense).

GT was aware MO had rented a car for AD according to the state however GT says he was not aware.

29 July approx 8.40pm the car is returned to MO's place (I think by Tanaka Brown). TB then drives the car to GT's work with MO following in her own car. TB then removes the gas can and cleaning supplies from the car and dumps them in dumpster at GT's work.

It was also said here though that AD had gone to GT's work and asked him to wipe the car down before returning it. - Im a little confused about this part because then they said the above re MO and TB and that didn't include AD.

30 July - the car is driven back to where it was hired from by TB with MO following in her car.

31 July - LE searched their apartment looking for AD. During this search they found weed and charged MO with possession and intent to sell.

GT's bond was set at $250K and MO's bond was set at $100K

Dearrah Sanders & Eric Wise (boyfriend & girlfriend)

31st July
- they were with her cousin, AD called her cousin and asked them to purchase 2 burner phones for him. DS and EW are seen on camera purchasing these phones and a duffle bag at Walmart. They purchased a total of 23 items that day at various times.

One of these burner phones was used to call Kaitlyn on August 3rd. As soon as Kaitlyn heard his voice she hung the phone up. He then text her but they didn't say in Court what that text said. Kaitlyn immediately reported this contact to LE.

On that day they also picked AD up and took him back to their apartment. He stayed at their apartment until 2/3 August (at one point they said the 2nd and then said 3rd so im not sure which of the two is accurate). DS was not staying at the apartment while AD was there (not sure about EW). DS said she only knew Austin as "Chris". She purchased him clothing and food while he was staying there.

She is currently 6months pregnant and is being monitored for renal failure.

Eric Wise was the only defendant to appear without a lawyer.

DS's bond was set at $150K and EW's bond was set at $250K (EW is currently on probation for Aggravated Domestic Assault)

What's important to note is all of these parties (except Eric Wise) told LE everything as soon as they were arrested.

All of these defendants have multiple young children.

We also learned in this hearing that LE spotted Drummond on 30 July and he managed to get away (I think there had been some talk of that earlier on but that was confirmed by the state today). They gave an address where he was but I don't know who's address that was.

Next court date for these four is November 3rd.

Thank you for all this. I'm happy to know that most of them told LE everything. That makes things a lot simpler. It makes me so sad that Brayden unknowingly bought the tarps that would be his family's shroud.

So very interesting that KS hung up on AD. Would love to know why she hung up. 🤔 Was it a signal that it was done? Was she mad at him over something? And why does she want to speak with him now? Are they partners in something, or does she want to spit in his face? Can't wait to find out.
