According to this episode of Ashleigh Banfield says her source indicated the following about LD.
About 11:20 in to video.

1. Range Rover still part of investigation
2. Yes, guy driving was connected to the vehicle, possibly using for illegal activities. It is unknown if he owned the vehicle.
3. LE plane had been following him for quite some time before the raid. LD had been at his mother’s and they determined that would be a good time to stop him at the Culver’s.
4. Phones were seized. Still have. Will take weeks to process.
5. Why him? In order to get warrant they had: cell phone data, criminal background including illegal trafficking, physical description and they had a specific tip.

There was a video posted today where a former police captain and educator talked about LDs hand being really swollen or injured looking when he was detained and prior to be handcuffed. I thought it was interesting in light of the way PC seemed to be favoring one side as if injured.
