Thread for discussing the actions of the suspect in the recovered video from the front door. Where he m ight have come from, reasons for what was done, might there be more than one.

I'm not positive there was a second (or third etc.) perp, but i lean toward more than 1.

first, if it's true something had already happened inside when we see lantana man on the porch, and he's preparing an exit via the front door, then it seems likely either someone was with her, or she was incapacitated.

second, if this is a burglary /robbery gone wrong (which i give high odds to), and that some items were taken along with NG, it all seems like a lot of work for one guy.

those are both IF's, though. nothing that points clearly to multiple perps.

I also lean toward more than 1 as well. The backpack sorta makes me lean towards burglary in general, but this clearly was not ever going to be a smash & grab. Early on I believe, IIRC, there was mention of a back door & it possibly being left open & I wonder if entry was actually made back there by a second perp while Backpack Guy was up front with the lantana, preparing the exit route. Obviously this is just me spitballing but there's something about this entire situation that makes me think there was more than one perp. MOO

It looks to me like at .25 in the video linked, the foliage is picked up and inspected and then it's like he hears or sees something and looks off for a second (could be answering someone or just looking), then turns back to the alcove.


I hate this link because they have their logo over half of the video it seems, but you can stop and drag and see almost frame by frame on it.

What if I look at this backwards? This wasn't BEFORE the break in but AFTER. Coming back to make sure everything looked OK (trying the security door knob to make sure it locked behind him), only then noticing the ring camera because his hands were full on the way out the first time. Covered the camera while he removed the gun and used it to smash the camera (didn't want the camera seeing the gun). Nothing to be done if he was seen leaving the premises on the camera, but disabling it would allow him to drive away without any chance of his car being on camera at all if he approached in a vehicle from one direction, but needed to leave another direction. Yep, it's crazy, but it could be possible I think.

ETA: Nope, I take it back. I now recall that there was at least one blood drop over the foliage pieces, so that lets this being before out.
