I am always in favour of bail hearings and prelims taking place early so we get proper judicial oversight.

The accused should have this hearing and the evidence examined to see if there is enough evidence to hold him, and ultimately proceed to trial.

I get that can be frustrating but it is important.

Sounds like his attorney has asked for a hearing to determine whether there's (still) probable cause to (continue to) hold him in custody.

That's a pretty damning probable cause affidavit -- I don't think he's going anywhere.

Yeah something tells me old boy isn't going to be successful in his attempts at an early release here.

Not sure what you mean, but yes, hoping SS body is found soon.
I didn’t listen to the video, but, I did read the article. Perhaps I misunderstood what it was saying, but, it said that once BS is indicted, then they only have 90 days to go to trial?

There are pictures of an eclipse party on Suzanne's FB page. Anyone know if that's their property where it was held?
That’s not the property on Highland. We have property within a mile, that's not what the river looks like.

The 90 days is the right to a speedy trial.

In most cases like a murder trial, the defense needs more time to prepare for trial and will then waive their right to a speedy trial.

"If they are able to get an examining trial and a magistrate's able to look at the evidence saying, 'Hey! This is pretty weak. You know? There's not enough really here to hold him,' Then it could result in a bond reduction .. or in his immediate release," LaHood said. "Which would, in my estimation, be what they're trying to go for."

"If the state doesn't get him indicted, which is with the grand jury a little bit different process and they have 90 days to do that from the date that he was arrested and charged," LaHood started. "Then he gets another shot at getting to go home, possibly."

Let’s hope not, would be a terrible precedent to set. Do a stellar job killing your wife, then hiding her body- you’re home free. No body, no case.
This is my fear. I've seen other cases where they just let the guy go free because there is no "tangible evidence" without a body/blood, etc.

Additionally, Gilmore submitted a lengthy request for discovery. ...

While the exact evidence and who the state and defense will call to testify in the case will remain a mystery until a trial, should one occur, a copy of the request for discovery offers some insight into what evidence the prosecutors might have. Among a long list, Gilmore is asking for copies of written or recorded statements from Brad Simpson or any witnesses, medical records of all involved -- sealed or otherwise -- and lab tests, surveillance footage and 911 or jail calls.

Are the police searching the property do you know? What does the rockcliff reservoir look like right now?

I live in SA. I don’t know what the reservoir looks like lately. It’s been a while since I’ve been to our place but that last time, about a year ago, our huge stock tank was almost dry and the river was very low. We haven’t had rain since then so I can imagine the reservoir and the adjacent lakes are pretty low as well.
To my knowledge no one has searched properties near his including ours.

So the blue tarp wasn't in the truck when he dropped the daughter off at school. It showed up at the Whattaburger in Boerne a little over an hour later.

Who knows what he needed that Kendall County dump site for bc a previous post makes it look like a recycling site,
Your first statement above is correct and matches the murder arrest affidavit. The explanation for how this happened is more complex and is NOT in that affidavit. In my opinion, it is almost certainly due to him picking up the blue tarp (again) at around 9 am in the shopping area, along S Main St that was searched extensively by police earlier in this investigation. Here, it appears that police know BS twice visited that parking lot.

The first visit was around midnight on Sunday, 10/6, where "midnight" is defined as the end of day (as it normally is). In that first visit, BS seemingly dropped off the blue tarp with the large bulky item wrapped and secured in it. In this case, that was about a 30-min drive from near the wooded/brushy area, so the round-trip time was about 1 hour, as observed by his neighbor and reported in the murder arrest affidavit.

The second visit was about 9 hours later at about 9 am, 10/7. In that second visit, BS seemingly picked up the blue tarp with the large bulky item wrapped and secured in it (from where he left it 9 hours before). Here, a good guess is in one of the two large green Waste Management dumpsters in the mobile home park adjacent to that parking lot. But there are other good guesses like that small green Waste Management dumpster by the Alamo Hospice or under the many trees north of that parking lot that separate it from private property. Police must know exactly where that was with business surveillance cameras and the black box from the truck. From there, I'd guess he drove his black truck north on S Main St, west on W Bandera Rd (which turns into State HWY 46 W), and turned left (in the left turn lane) into the Home Depot / Whataburger parking lot. That drive took about 5 min.

Regarding the Kendall County Solid Waste Site, he just discarded of the 3 white trash bags there according to the affidavit, probably in a blue Republic Services dumpster on the north end of the site. The south end of this site is for recycling. The north end of this site is for regular trash. Here, I'd guess he used the north end. He may have used this trip to decide if it was a good place to leave "the large bulky item wrapped and secured in a blue tarp". My guess is that he decided it wasn't a good place for that. Instead, my guess is he decided to gas up, buy water (to use with the Quikrete), and head about 30-min-drive further west, near the ranch, to do that critical disposal.

No, in my opinion, I think he hid her body somewhere in the house (or the pump house) overnight (while researching what to do with her body). I think that the purpose of the 12:33 am trip to HEB was to throw her phone in the dumpster there (so that it would ping there- so he could say that she lost her phone there). Then, later that morning, he took his daughter to school, went and picked up her body wrapped in the blue tarp and then headed straight to the whataburger (that’s where the tarp is seen for the first time -according to the arrest affidavit-) and Home Depot.
Who know what he needed that Kendall County dump site for bc a previous post makes it look like a recycling site,

What are the ages of the other three children? Are all four children Brad's? Do any of the other 3 live at home with Suzanne?

That is all just speculation, right? Because, personally, I think he went home after dropping his daughter off at kindergarten to put her body in the truck. The hour that he spent when his truck was gone was to retrieve her body from the woods and to clean up the scene of the struggle, then tossed her phone in the H-E-B dumpster where he said that she “lost it”.

Been following this thread for awhile as a guest. I’m in unique position as not only living full time in Bandera County but also was an acquaintance of BS with no contact in the last 10 years.
Let me dispel the notion that BS due to his title related to a well services, that he was an expert in the field. It is my opinion that BS was given the job as a favor and basically was a glorified sales person. No technical knowledge or official training/certifications. That business located in south Texas has had its door shut for years now.
From my memory of him, BS was an avid fisherman/outdoorsmen, fresh water included. Bandera County is dry right now, however, there are spring/well fed small watering holes that hold fish and water year round. In fact I live very close to one that never goes dry and is 20ft deep. BS was a personable and likable amongst male peers. I don’t know for a fact, but he might have established local relationships with land owners to fish some of these water holes and given gate codes to access at his discretion. It’s not that uncommon. Given that most big water around this county is surrounded by private land, access can be difficult with only a few public access points and obtaining private landowner permission the only way in.
Makes sense that Suzanne told her banker looks towards the water if I go missing because BS enjoyed the fishing hobby. Just something to think about.

Imfine, being local can you confirm a large search party in Bandera checking the river today?

I’m south of the town of Bandera on 16 so about 20 miles from his Highland address. My wife monitors Bandera scanner and a Bandera scanner online forum and no mention of large scale search in the county, and that group is on top of most the LE doings in the county.

Well that’s disappointing

In regards to the Rivers out here, most of the easily accessible section either have no water or very little(and the water is very clear if not deep). Not enough to sink a body. The only sections that are going to have deep water are the privately dammed up sections with no public access. There is a city park in the town of Bandera that is deep at the damn but it’s right off of Main Street and completely visible by traffic and pedestrians. Very unlikely. Most plausible if BS used water too hide Suzanne is through private access to a deep damned section. Not to mention, we had 3-4in of rain in the past 3 weeks which likely erased tire tracks or boot prints in the caliche roads not commonly traveled.
