Owners of Swiss disaster bar were booed upon arriving at the public prosecutor's office this morning.

Jacques and Jessica Moretti were called monsters and murderers. ‘You killed my son. You killed my brother. Where is my son?’ they shouted. ‘How can you eat and sleep?’

The two were visibly shaken by the confrontation. ‘We are just working people,’ the man tried to defend himself. ‘If we have to pay, we will pay.’

This morning was the fourth time that the two reported to the prosecutors in Sion to make a statement about the fire. Yesterday and today, lawyers representing the victims were also allowed to ask questions. There are more than fifty of them, representing over 130 parties.

Yesterday, there was an ‘emotional conversation’ between the Moretti couple and the mother of two of the injured. The meeting with Leila Micheloud was arranged ad hoc on the sidelines of the interrogations. ‘It was important for these people to be able to see each other, talk and exchange thoughts about what happened,’ said her solicitor, who did not elaborate on the content.

The Morettis' solicitor hoped that the conversation would contribute to the healing process. ‘It was important for both parties to be able to distance themselves from the resentment for a moment.’

The couple's interrogation is currently ongoing, with previous sessions lasting more than 10 hours.

Twenty-five burn victims are being treated in Swiss hospitals. Nine are in a rehabilitation clinic.

Thirty-nine victims are still being treated abroad, including 18 Swiss nationals.

The victims of the New Year's Eve fire in Crans-Montana, who were admitted to Milan's Niguarda Hospital are all out of danger. Those who were in intensive care have been transferred to the burns unit. In addition, a 55-year-old woman with dual Swiss and Italian citizenship was discharged from hospital on Monday.

another incident yesterday in the same region - 2026 is a tough year so far in Valais :(

Explosion at carnival parade in Switzerland: eleven injured

Le Châble is located in the canton of Valais, the same canton where the tragedy in Crans-Montana took place a month and a half ago.

Eleven people were injured on Saturday by an explosion on a float during the traditional carnival parade in Le Châble in southwestern Switzerland. One person was seriously injured. The incident occurred around 3 p.m.

The injured were treated at the scene and then taken to various hospitals in the region. Emergency services responded en masse. Three helicopters, four ambulances, and an emergency doctor arrived at the scene.

Broadcaster RTS reports that municipalities in the region had tightened regulations on fire safety standards in public buildings. According to the broadcaster, safety inspections will now almost certainly be extended to carnival floats.
