Yes, because Grindenwald is high up in the Alps, very high and dangerous mountains. Nothing strange about that, unfortunately.
What exactly is suspicious in a tragic death of a young man who went into the mountains while drunk (two promiles in his blood, that's really high level) and fell 100 meters down?
Junger Engländer war alkoholisiert
This lady also fell down. Tragic, but not strange, nor suspicious in Swiss Alps.

Another unfortunate fall.
Erneut Unglück in Grindelwald (Kanton Bern): Vermisste Wanderin tot geborgen - Il Giornale del Ticino
And yes, yet another unfortunate fall from the height.
Let me repeat, Grindenwald is in Swiss Alps, or, more precise, the Bernese Alps range. The highest point of elevation is 4,274 metres (14,022 ft), that's nearly as high as the highest peak of Rocky Mountains. It's a difficult terrain, so accidents do happen and people going missing is not a strange thing in any mountains, let alone that high ones. There is no madman killing people under Eiger, seriously.
