Tammy Faye

Did you send her money?

How do you know that she did not regret her past misdeeds? Most of us do.
My parents were lifetime members of the Heritage thing. I was too young to send money.

Oh, I don't know if she regretted her misdeeds, or if she even admitted to specific misdeeds. I have been googling. I did come across a book that JimBakker wrote, "I was wrong". Never read more than the reviews though.

Was she still married to 2nd husband? Interesting that there is a statement from Jim Bakker regarding her death, but nothing about 2nd husband Messner.

Yes, I believe she is still married to him. He is currently battling prostate cancer.

I do not think it is for us to judge or misjudge Tammy Faye. God only knew who she trully was, as he does with all of us. He knew her weaknesses, and why she had them....why she wore all the makeup and why she did some things that we see is/was wrong. He knew her heart-

I went to a funeral one time and Pastor X said about the deceased-"I visited her right before she died, and she said she was saved. I think she probably was". I found this to be one of the most disgusting things I ever heard at a funeral. All he had to do was say "She told me she was saved." Period. The end of the story was between her and God.
The end of every story is between the person and God.

May God bless all of you-may Tammy Faye receive what she justly deserves now that she is gone.

nanandjim, The interview aired this past Thursday night, I saw it. Last night I tuned in to LKL and thought they were repeating Thursdays program then I noted at the bottom of the screen that Tammy has died.

Saturday program first half hour was repeat of Thursday, last 30 minutes had cuts from other interviews with Tammy, her two children and Jim.

------
PSU fan, The American courts dealt with deciding who needed to go to prison.

Some sleuther can dig up more facts from that case.

God will be her judge, not me. The people loved Tammy and Jim, and gave from their hearts, the Bakers did a lot of good things with the money as well.

I guess they could have lived in a hovel, but. I loved seeing her on interviews, surfed past the 700 club once or twice. I prefer being with my God alone, rather than in crowded arenas. But an ocasional trip to a crowded arena tends to ground me and strengthen my faith. In the long run people usually just end up being people. The good, the bad and the ugly.

I wish my post were perfect, but it is me.

.
I think that you couldn't help but like Tammy Faye. She was bubbly and unpretentious, at least, the few times that I saw her speak. :) Jim may have kept a lot of things away from Tammy Faye. I'm sure that she couldn't have known of his sordid affair with his secretary, Jessica. Whatever happened to her anyway?? I think that she sued and got cosmetic surgery with part of her settlement, didn't she?? Once again, I'm off on a tangent... ;)

I would have enjoyed the LKL show with the cuts for all of her interviews. I bet even LK enjoyed having her on his show. I don't particularly like him.

I feel certain that Tammy Faye is in heaven. She certainly seemed to have a heart of gold.

ETA: I think that one of the links said that she did a 2000 documentary explaining what happened in the PTL fiasco. I think that would interesting to watch because I really don't know the particulars.

We're all sinners. Its up to God to decide, but something tells me that she'll be forgiven and a place in Heaven was waiting for her. She was truly one of a kind!

Hmmm...That's quite a review. It sounds like the book is not steeped in reality and is full of denial. ;)

yes, it sure does, lol.....

I have a few nice pieces of jewelry. Am I now responsible for starving children?
Good comeback boyz, that is true.

It is sad what happened with Heritage ect...However I dont think Jim and Tammy were only to blame. I really dont think Tammy thought or knew anything was wrong. Alot of people live rich and their spouses are crooked and they don't know.

Amen, Jeana. She suffered through hell here on earth during her last years ~ especially in the horrible way cancer ravaged her body. May she be at peace now in God's loving arms. ;)

It is horrible, a terrible way to go. I am glad she is at peace now, poor thing.

When I saw her on Larry King the other night, I couldn't believe she was actually able to sit there, talk to Larry and be in such good humor. What an inspiration and a testimony to her faith in God. :)

I couldn't believe it, but I think the make up she had on weighed more than she did!!! LOL I love that she didn't let her illness stop her from sitting there and having it put on her though!!! I don't think we would have recognized her without it though! I didn't see the Larry King show, but I caught a few minutes of it when they aired it on one of those "entertainment" shows. I hope I'm able to face my last few hours with as much dignity and humor as she did.
