Based on the BC and KS transcripts, they seem to be targeting MS, JB and maybe others.

Specifically the doctoring of the TES document and a possible violation of the court's order of the sealed autopsy photos.

Just my opinion.

ITA. I'm thinking Mort showed people the autopsy photos and he's on JJ's tape talking about it or possibly even showing him. Big no-no on SO many levels. Wonder what cindy would think of that. Well, she might not care, since it wasn't Caylee's remains, right? Duh.

after re-reading the emails that LB sent to JB, (thanks for re-posting them, Thinktank), I'm not buying that those are the only emails/conversations that happened between the 2 of them. It sounds to me like they had been talking more, based on things she says in her emails to him. This is JMO, of course, but I wouldn't be surprised one little bit if JB just deleted a ton of stuff and left her swinging in the breeze when the chit hit the fan, so to speak.

ETA: especially the email from january 13,2009. LB says "I spoke to Tessa last night and at first she was okay with the idea of coming forward, but today she is kinda recanting..." etc. Doesn't this sound like LB and JB had previously been talking about LB coming forward with others and discussing other searchers, etc?

Aside from the obvious, that this defense is not to be trusted, it seems unbelievable ANY defense team PI involved in pre-trial prep would be given this kind of sensitive material.

Whatever happened to Special Masters or whatever. It just seems crazy to me, but then I've missed the discussion here about it so I'm sure heads were exploding.

During crime scene picture discussion (he is sitting behind defense table), Mort goes forward to whisper to Andrea for a few seconds, whereupon she jumps up and tells the judge that " one thing you could do, is, perhaps, you might want to have one member of the team, uh, or, or 2 members of the team, just agree to be sort of guardians of the photographs, and make sure that we show them, and retrieve them, and put them in a secure place"

Then Baez confers with Andrea for a few seconds, and says "Actually judge, I don't think that that would work because of the amount of travel, we have people out of state, it's not like we have people in state"

Judge want them personally delivered, how many copies out there, originals to be returned to Baez, and a sworn statement that no copies were made.

I have done some preliminary research into this man and find that his webhost is in Orlando....odd since he is in Chicago. I find it odd because his webhost appears to be rather small time, does transcription on the side, and has an interest in sports cars. Why does the "sports / exotic" cars theme seem to run so heavily through this defense team and trickle down to the reward money?

I am also curious why Mort chose not to press charges against JJ regarding the illegal taping of the interview. Is it possible that a particular interview tactic or agenda would have been evident thus causing damage to the defense?

The person in common between Atty Sims and Laura is MORT S. who interviewed Joe J.. Mort S. was the guardian of the autopsy photos also.

These questions about anyone seeing autopsy photos, are very interesting in light of the fact that law enforcement, who is asking the questions in the Atty Sims interview, HAVE listened to Joe J's illegally recorded tape of Joe's interview with Mort Smith in Atty Sim's office.

Was Joe J ever asked, in any of his LE interviews, if Joe was shown autopsy photos?

My thought is this. If there was ANY advantage to the defense/Mort bringing charges it would have been done in a heartbeat IMO. The damage would've been greater (by far) than any advantage.

If Mort had pressed charges against JJ for illegally recorded tape, it would have, for sure, been sealed and NOBODY could ever listen to it, or use it as evidence. The Defense, and Mort, wanted the tape used as evidence because at that time Joe J was saying he did not believe Caylee's body was there. (he realized he was mistaken later).

Oh, I agree completely. I don't think they are going to spend time prosecuting LB. She wouldn't even be an issue if the defense had done their due diligence. I think they are trying to find out if any member of the defense team is culpable here.

The Medical Examiner's photos are more than just the autopsy photos. They are all the photos that were taken by the investigator at the scene. These photos are probably very similar to the ones that LE took. IF Mort was showing photos from the ME's office, they were probably the ones that showed the area and exactly where the skull was and how it was originally found, to see if he could get them to say that they had been in that exact area. Showing searchers the photos of the skeletal examination would serve no purpose, but showing them the photos of where the body was found and how the area looked, certainly would.

ETA: He also might have been showing them the photos that have been released by LE, which showed the area and where things were found after the remains were moved. LE could have been trying to figure out if Mort was showing photos that were already released to the public or ones that had not been released because they showed the remains.
