GREENVILLE, S.C. (FOX Carolina) - Multiple law enforcement agencies have worked on an investigation into a couple who has been not been seen for over a week.

The Greenville Police Department said a missing report was filed for Terry Chermak and her fiancé, Todd Cagle, on Sept. 17. Cagle’s sister said no one has seen the couple in over a week.

Chermak was last seen by a friend in downtown Greenville, according to police. They have been investigating the case and developed multiple leads, resulting in the case being turned over to the Laurens County Sheriff’s Office.

Chermak’s car is also missing, according to Cagle’s sister. She drives a gray 2017 Mitsubishi Outlander with a South Carolina license plate that reads: TPQ218.

Anyone with information is asked to contact the Laurens County Sheriff’s Office.

I saw a news article about this. I cannot help but wonder whether the couple has just decided to go on an adventure without telling anyone. Of course, something much darker might have taken place. It is my hope, though, that this case will resolve quickly and without any criminal element.

This is not like her according to friends. He has a rap sheet of DV/Alcohol, etc. dating back to 2005 and divorced in 2006. I don't like the sounds of this. This article said she texted work and said she had covid.

Todd Cagle, Terry's fiance has been arrested for murder. A woman's body has been found, not yet confirmed that it's Terry.

A body was found on the property of a missing couple Tuesday, and the boyfriend of the missing woman was arrested in Colorado, the Laurens County Sheriff’s Office announced.

Deputies were at the home of Terry Ann Chermak and William Loyd Cagle, who goes by Todd, on Neely Ferry Road in Laurens Tuesday morning.

The Sheriff’s Office said the Laurens County Coroner’s Office will confirm the person’s identity when possible.

I guess the phone pinging in Florida was a misdirection.
I'm glad they've found Terry, but am so sorry about the outcome.

Good to see a quick resolution to what was obviously a murder and man on the run, or murder suicide.

Public records show a history of DV, foreclosure, divorce from first wife. DV offenders never change. Always vet new partners.

Remembrance page for Terry. Rest peacefully. She seems like she was such a beautiful soul.

She was in a relationship with Todd since 2008. This wasn't a new relationship. I wonder how long the turmoil was going on with them. So very, very sad.

The abuse usually starts small and escalates over time. Who knows. She was probably afraid to leave because of just this.

William "Todd" Cagle, 48, was arrested on Tuesday in Denver, according to jail records reviewed by Oxygen.com. The U.S. Marshals apprehended him outside his hotel in downtown Denver on felony warrants for murder and possession of a firearm by a previously convicted felon, according to a press release from the Laurens County Sheriff's Office and one from the Marshals.

Cagle and his girlfriend, Terry Chermak, 49, were reported missing in Greenville on Saturday by her sister, according to the Columbia, South Carolina newspaper The State, though they both lived 35 miles southeast in Laurens. Neither had been seen since Sept. 9, though Chermak's boss reportedly had received a text from her phone stating she had Covid. Her vehicle, a gray 2017 Mitsubishi Outlander SUV, was also missing.

Cagle's phone had reportedly last pinged in North Carolina around 8:20 p.m. on Saturday night, while Chermak's phone had last pinged around 10:30 a.m. on Sunday in Fort Walton Beach, Florida — 500 miles from Laurens, on the coast of the western part of the state's panhandle, according to the paper. Chermak's adult son lives just 20 minutes west of Fort Walton, but wrote on Facebook that he hadn't seen her.
