Tes search for caylee is over

I'm very touched and amazed at the number of people who showed up to search for Caylee. And for the time and money spent by TES on this search. I do understand their need to move on, however... I'm not sure exactly what other families he was talking about, but there is a 3-yr-old girl and her mother who went missing Friday. At this point, resources may be better spent looking for a child who has a good chance of still being found alive, versus poor little Caylee. With TM having lost a daughter b/c no one would go search early in the places that made the most sense, I can understand him wanting to take time off from searching for Caylee to help look for others who may still be alive. I'm sure he'll be back again, if Caylee isn't found tomorrow.

The other families he was talking about are listed on the attached link.

This is what David Lohr reported this morning:

"Yes, a cross was found hanging on a tree branch. No, it was not found today, it was found during the first search effort. The information has been carefully guarded because we were not sure of the significance of the find. It was not a store bought necklace, but a craft item that someone had made out of plastic and beads. What made the find interesting was that the beads, according to Leonard Padilla, were "identical" to beads that the female bounty hunter (the one who stayed in the house when Casey was out on bond) had seen on jewlery that Casey had allegedly made. Is it related to the case? Unknown. I saw a photo of the cross today but unfortunately that is the only thing they have. The cross was left on the branch and, according to Rob Dick, disappeared shortly thereafter.

My understanding is that a second cross was found today – I am not sure if it was a jewelry item or marker – but law enforcement has since discovered that it had been placed in the area by the family of a murder victim. It is unrelated to the case."

WTH??? They paid enough attention to it to photograph it, but they didn't take it in??? They "guarded" the info? And the rumors that allegedly Casey bought one necklace to leave with Caylee and one for herself. Were they at least watching the necklace to see who paid attention to it??? Do they know how it came to "disappear?"

Second cross shows up. I wonder if it showed up in the same area? Has someone else been murdered in the park recently?

Somehow these recent disclosures ring pretty true to me. One thing bothers me though. If KC did leave Caylee in the park and went back to leave the beads as a "memorial", since she had Amy's and CA's CC's, wouldn't you think she would have bought some type of more expensive jewelry, like maybe a gold cross or something? Something more valuable, more permanent?

There was a female jogger - my apologies to her for not recalling her name.

Not only that but IF Casey is outside the pool... is the shovel long enough to even reach a submerged body? Can she latch onto it & pull it? Seems like it would take a lot of patience to grab the body AND a whole lot of strength to manipulate the shovel at that angle.

If Casey is IN the pool, why waste time with a shovel... grab the body & stop wasting time. You never know when a neighbor could walk through your backyard.

Nah, the shovel most likely was used to break the lock.... Casey wanted the gas cans. She might have wanted to drive far away to dump Caylee & needed some free gas.

No matter how she "might" have done it in the pool she would have had to drag the body up the ladder or over the top ledge of the pool. That is all metal. If she did that it would have left traces of Caylee like a fingernail under the skin. Did LE take the ladder?

I know gators well too - airboated for years on the St. Johns River with hubby and friends. Gators are pretty lazy. That's why they just kind of float right up on their prey (aka turtle or whatever). They open their mouth and gulp! They really don't "go hunting". They don't have to here! You are picturing the African Crocodiles that you see on TV. THEY hunt! They go after zebras drinking, etc.

Alligators here will grab a dog or sometimes a person at the edge of a lake if they are over-populated in that water and there isn't enough food. Thing is, we humans don't know if they have enough to eat or not so we try to just stay away always. Living here you kind of figure out what areas are likely to have less food like small ponds (a small pond is not really a small pond as you picture in FL. small is probably a 10 acre body of water). Also, they will attack if humans feed them - chicken or garbage or whatever by dumping in the same place a lot. Yes there are stupid people who do this.

The Econ river in the park doesn't have a lot of gators. They tend to go away from populated areas and more towards the nature preserve areas of the park where they can get turtles, snakes, frogs, and the occasional clumsy SQUIRREL that falls from a tree!! There are more fish in these areas too. There are a lot of gators in the notorious Lake Monroe in Sanford - they reach record sizes - 12-14 feet sometimes. Also that other lake that WS was talking about as a possibility. Those lakes are HUGE and DEEP. If ....oh I don't want to think about it!

Also, the gators won't go tearing into a suitcase or bag unless maybe something was sticking out and they were awfully hungry.

What happens to the clothing a human is wearing if they so happen to become a part of the gator's diet? Do they digest that? Do they get it shredded and out of their mouths before swallowing?

thank you for this post Chilly. Folks, I was there for both days of the search - I did not go out and search, but talked to many searchers who did. At times, they were searching through brush so thick, they could not see each other from 2 feet away. If you could just see the area, the sheer size of the sections that were searched - you would be amazed that they did as well as they did. Unless you are here, at ground level, you can't imagine how thick and brushy some areas are. I hope some of the searchers who were out will stop by and just describe what they went through so you have an idea of just what a difficult thing it was just getting through some of the areas.

TES has done all they can at this point. Where else should they look? I think they narrowed down the areas as best they could and put as many people on the ground searching as they could. While we all would like to think LE and TES knew exactly what areas to search, it is entirely possible that Caylee was left in a completely different area. We just don't know.

TES is an incredible organization who poured their heart and a whole heck of a lot of money into this search. It is heart breaking that they are moving on - but what more do you want them to do????? At the end of the day, they searched as hard as they could, but there comes a time when you have to step back and say, we have done all we can, we need to move on.

Please do not disparage Tim Miller or TES. Please understand that a lot of what was said about 'finding her this weekend' was not said by TES. But most important - please keep Caylee in your hearts and say a thank you to Tim Miller and TES for the incredible effort they put into this. I can tell you that every single member of TES is in agony about this decision - it was not made lightly, it was made with a heavy heart. I am so thankful that I had a chance to meet the people involved in this wonderful organization and they have my support now and forever!

May the Gods watch over you, Tim Miller and TES, and always hold you in the palms of their hands.

Hi Macushla!! Remember me? It's pretty hard to convey to the online WSers what we saw, felt and experienced isn't it? I just can't seem to put into words how brambly, overgrown, hard it was! Thank you for all you did. Some of us are disappointed but totally understanding of TES. This task is just SO OVERWHELMING! Just a little more info from LE if they have it or the Anthony's or anything could have narrowed it down for us! TES is wonderful, I still love them, understand, and hope they can move towards finding other lost little ones - oh how I wish there were none!

I think gators most definitely do hunt. What I heard is, they won't dig for their food. Thus meaning, a suitcase or even a shallow grave would keep the gators at bay.

http://www.corkscrew.audubon.org/Wildlife/Alligators.html

Alligators are especially tuned in to splashing in the water, frequently caused by an animal in distress, two animals fighting or playing in shallow water, something walking along the edge of the water, or even a bird or animal bathing. All indicate prey that may not be paying as close attention as it might otherwise be to its surroundings.

Thanks so much, PP. That makes things much clearer, although it makes no sense at all. So, the second cross, found today, is a non-issue. The first cross, which was photographed and then disappeared, was supposedly found during the first search effort - which was how long ago?

Here's the part that makes no sense - IF LE believed the cross was connected to this case, why would they ignore it? The search efforts should have been totally focused on Blanchard Park. I think LP is blowing smoke again, and a lot of people will be wasting a lot of time and effort because of it.

Do you think LP could have more information than LE? Only because his people were with KC most of the time and I wonder how he could make the connection today shortly after TES announced they were done searching. He comes to save the day? Some think I agree with what he said in his synopsis of what happened or his theory of what happened. I don't agree. I was just transcribing for those that couldn't watch Murt's live feed. I cannot help but think it was all done this way for LP's resume. I don't know if you watched the live feed but when Murt arrived at the scene (LP CALLED HIM TO COME RIGHT OVER- LATE DISCOVERY) the only people there were LP and a guy that looked like Jesse Grund sp? and one officer from the sheriffs dept. ...JMO:confused:

CA is ???? I don't even know what to say about this....

ORLANDO, Fla. -- After a long weekend of searching for 3-year-old Caylee Anthony, TM of Texas Equusearch said the decision to leave breaks his heart.

But there are other families of missing people who need their resources.

Meanwhile grandmother CA said they responded to a live sighting of Caylee early Sunday morning.

She makes me ill along with KC..they r two of a kind that's for sure!

These are my theories, she chloroformed Caylee to party, she died. She put her in WATER or the dumpster and she is in the LANDFILL. They are looking in the wrong place. NO WAY Casey buried her, shes TOO LAZY!
Im really upset, I appreicate TES work, but why quit in TWO DAYS? I thought they were here for the long haul this time?
I thought theyd never find her, but I was hoping I was wrong for once with my feelings, and now they wont find her. And now we have to once again hear the Anthonys saying shes alive.
This case is so sad :-(

I don't believe she did anything in the pool. If, big if, she did anything, she took the ladder out and left the gate open. Just to drive her parents nuts.

I still believe she used the shovel to pry up a paver that she used to weigh Caylee down.

And now, to shoot myself in the foot, I think the reason that there is speculation that the shovel was used for something in the pool is that there was a ring (reportedly) on the handle. I can't remember where I read that - maybe on the Brian B interview.

I am sad to report that the acid in a gator's stomach is so powerful that even bones are digested. Unless the gator is killed within a few hours, any limb or anything they have eaten will be too "damaged" to recover. This image is constantly being pushed OUT of my mind for darling Caylee! NO!

WTH!?! I don't understand this? He has volunteers, ppl have been feeding and watering them and he has support from everyone!

What is going on?? Did something they found yesterday trigger this?? I see no other reason.

Another reason? Look at the areas where they were searching. They couldn't go into some areas because of all the alligators that were there. I think what is going on with ending the search is pretty obvious, sad but obvious.

It is easy to be disappointed. We expected thousands, and while it was one of the largest searches in the state it still fell short of estimates. And there is no word that they found her, and we were all hoping so much that they would. So yes, disappointment.

But it was still a huge effort. And many many people showed up, they searched, they exhausted themselves. Many people provided money, supplies and other assistance. And it was one of the largest searches in the state.

Any search is a long shot. A searcher has to be very alert, has to go very close to any evidence, has to able to recognize that it is remains or evidence. So the odds of having the searchers at the exact spot are very narrow. Worthwhile, yes. Because at least they know where she is not.

This doesn't mean that it is definate that she will never be found. Most missing persons are not found by LE or even by searchers. Most remains are found by hikers, or farmers or others who come upon the remains by accident. So she may still yet be found, but it may take longer.
