"Andy Hall, the activist for the rights of migrant workers in Thailand, tweeted yesterday that he was sending a team of lawyers to see the two Myanmar workers charged.

"We are sending the legal team [and] seek to gain access to the accused, to advise them on their rights under Thai law, and provide reliable translation," he said"

Well, this WILL be interesting.....

"10,000 sign petition for independent investigation into koh tao murders"
and
"Sean Mcanna releases full statement to british police"
and
"Koh tao headman submits to DNA tests"

These are the headlines I would like to wake up to tomorrow in british newspapers.

So bizarre, who sits singing and playing guitar under the stars, by the lovely water and upon seeing a young couple, drops everything, grabs a garden hoe and then, brutally, savagely rapes and kills ???

Yah, my BS meter is off the charts with this one....

Koh Tao murders: Suspicions surround arrest of Myanmar men
Media Eleven/ANNSunday, Oct 05, 2014

"Win confessed that he attacked the British tourists with the plan to rape the woman after he saw them having sex. However, his confession contradicts the Thai police's earlier announcement on not finding evidence that the tourists were walking on the beach together and had stopped near the guesthouse to have sex. Moreover, the Thai police have announced earlier that no evidence of Miller's DNA was found on Witheridge's body. The police said they believed Miller was killed when he came to rescue Witheridge, who he had met recently.

A Myanmar lawyer representing the two Myanmar workers told BBC that the Thai police claimed to have found the mobile phone of the dead woman in the men's living quarters even though there are evidences of the mobile phone being submitted to the police station by her friend a day after the murder took place".

http://news.asiaone.com/news/asia/koh-tao-murders-myanmar-provide-help-arrested-suspects

"An official from Labour Rights Network for Myanmar workers in Thailand said: "Our team went there to the island at the time when the Myanmar workers were arrested. Three of them were tortured, such as [having hot water poured on them and beaten] and another three were released, according to workers there.

"I also worked there on the island in 1998. It is the kind of place where employers and police do what they want. If a foreign tourist has a thing stolen, the first to be accused are Myanmar nationals," he said".

:happydance::great::great::rockon::peace:

Will they corroborate and retest dna?
Will the truth out and the inconsistencies of this charade be exposed?

I sincerely hope so guys.

Or will the suspects decline legal assistance? Perhaps through fear.

The internet and social media is being listened to. Time will tell.

From newbie called "two words" on http://www.thaivisa.com/forum/topic/765800-rights-group-arranges-lawyers-for-myanmar-men/page-2

"My first post after viewing this forum for many months.. Here goes! My wife and I are attending her uncles funeral for last couple of days. Last night we were chatting ( well she was translating ) to one of her cousins, whom is a policeman in Bangkok, about the murders and I was expressing my frustration and doubt about the way this investigation has progressed. He straight up said the murderers were not these Burmese but were relatives of local mafia ( his words ). He also said way too much money has been paid to the head police, government whatever. I like many on this forum wish for independent DNA tests to be carried out on theses accused. If it doesn't match then get samples from local mafia family etc etc. Maybe theses men did it? I don't think the truth will prevail but I hope so! No I am not a troll to all you wan.ers who jump on newbies here.... Anyways thought I'd share what police cousin said! "

I was shocked to see all the pics, reenactments on the media yesterday.

The whole thing reeks to me.
What a horrible thing for all the victims and their families.

May the truth prevail.

The eyes say it all.

http://www.nationmultimedia.com/opinion/More-investigative-work-needed-in-Koh-Tao-30244773.html

"The Royal Thai Police seem to be getting nowhere in solving the murders of two British tourists on Koh Tao that happened two weeks ago - to the point that more and more chances are likely that the true culprits might escape scot-free."

"for police to rely on the DNA tests only is irrelevant and shows lack of efficiency.More investigative legwork is needed."

Glad some media are picking up on this. Wish the British media would.

So police are now denying they said it was hannah's phone they planted(sorry- found!) and that it was Davids.I can only imagine they are responding to this inconsistency becaue it has recently been the most posted one in various forums.
But let us not stop talking about all the other inconsistencies and hope they come up with or can not come up with explanations for them all and will be forced to be transparent or else the house of cards tumbles down spectacularly.

Can anyone add to what I'm thinking about the son of the headman who was a suspect until supposedly timestamped cctv footage was reported showing him to be in Bangkok at university at 0916am on the morning of the 15th?
From what I have gleaned, an emotional protestation of innocence and then the milion baht "find any of my family guilty then!" dare was issued following suspicion pointing towards the headman and his family. With a supposed cast iron alibi provided by this cctv his dna was not tested.
I read that the cctv evidence was provided as a print out of a still. Is this true?Anyone know anything else about this or can anyone provide a link to something more authenticated?

If the cctv and timestamp are genuine then he still could have got to koh samui on a 3 engine speed boat in time to catch the 1st or 2nd flight of the day to bangkok. He could have landed at 7am and been at university at 0916.

As far as I know no member of the headman's family have been tested for DNA at any time.
Are there other sons/nephews who were in koh tao that night?
