Just been browsing the Thai visa forum about the young lad who died on KT new years day, among other threads. Another suspicious sounding case - makes me wonder how many more there have been! I think old Sean Mc did everyone a favour in some ways, by uncovering the corruption so blatantly. I wonder how many "suicides" and "accidents" farang have had over there that need looking into.

I've travelled a lot including all over Thailand - and for the record have never felt unsafe there - but some of this eye opening stuff makes me feel really naïve...

For those who haven't seen photos of the mobile phone the Thai police say they found in the jungle next to where the two Burmese suspects live.
It is the mobile in a transperant plastic bag.

If you ask me that mobile look like Sean Mcanna's mobile (see picture of him in the same link holding his mobile, and thinking of that he didn't have his own phone when chased by the two guys who threatened to kill him I go hmmmmm???):

Oh my! I just saw the pictures from Hannah's funeral! Devastatingly heartbreaking! I love the ''party'' theme. It was like a celebration of her short lived life, sad and beautiful at the same time. Rest in peace and may her family find the courage and strength to go on in the next few weeks, days, months, years. Rest in peace angel.

"In a sign of the distress the suspects are suffering, the chief of the prison where the two men are being held says they are being monitored to prevent any possible suicide attempts.

Chanin Liangsuwan, chief of Koh Samui District Prison, said: 'I have instructed other inmates to monitor the two Burmese men. I am afraid they may commit suicide, because they show signs of stress.

'They may be feeling guilty for the crime they have done.'

Thaivisa.com quoted Mr Chanin as saying the pair are being held in a general holding cell with other inmates, but that wardens were still doing their best to keep an eye on them."

If I were the families of Hannah, David or these Burmese chaps I'd be demanding help from Interpol (or whoever, someone, anyone other than the Thais) be allowed to deal with this.

I believe Sean Mc (who I reckon is nuts for what it's worth, and may even have witnessed the attack - didn't he have similar shaped wounds to those found on David?) was telling the truth on this case - that the real perps are bar owners related to these influential islanders who pay off the police.

Means there are still killers loose on the island.... why can't the Thais understand if it's not resolved "properly" their Koh Tao tourism is going to be badly affected? I'd cross it off my list if I was planning to travel round there again, plenty of other islands!

"The case has been fixed, my son is a scapegoat," Mr Zaw's mother, Phyu Shwe Nu, said.

"He doesn't drink alcohol and has never done anything violent before."

Mr Win's mother, Myint Thein, said she had raised her son in "great hardship" and his life had now been "ruined".

She said her son should tell the police "the truth" - that he was not guilty."

RBBM If you go onto the CSI LA FB page you will see screenshots of SMcA talking to CSI LA administrator via Soundcloud. (quite recent, maybe in last 3 days)
SMcA tells him that the blood on his guitar was swabbed by police and was found to be his own blood. The blood got there from a motorbike accident.

Of course, this is only hearsay from SMcA. Still interesting. SMCA has since disabled his Soundcloud page.

Maybe a hit to the back of a tourist's head, is standard in a Thai beach robbery ?
Hope this guy makes a full recovery..

"Channon, a humanitarian aid worker, was hit in the back of the neck, likely with a steel pipe, as he was wandering along a beachfront trail in Koh Lipe on the evening of Aug. 14.

He regained consciousness as he was being dragged to a dark, isolated part of the beach by his attacker.

His feeble cries for help went unanswered by nearby beach revelers. Channon spent an entire night lying on the sand, unable to move, while mosquitoes and fire ants gnawed his flesh and stray dogs licked his face.

The attack left the father of three an “incomplete” quadriplegic, which means it’s possible that, through intense rehabilitation, he could regain movement."

How terrible for this man, I hope he makes a good recovery and can gain some independence again in the future. It must have been terrifying to be attacked and then left there, listening to life going on nearby and no one coming to help you.

This is an article about Hannah's funeral. It is so horrible to see so much sadness and pain in the faces of those who loved Hannah. The funeral looked absolutely beautiful, they did her proud.

Hannah's family and friends really did do her proud, the funeral looked beautiful.. the flowers were absolutely stunning. Very classy.
