The 90 minutes Terri spent driving around--Do you believe it?

Do you believe Terri drove around for 90 minutes strictly to calm a fussy baby?

You are mixing apples with oranges. First, you are confusing driving around aimlessly for 90 minutes with having an aimless day. This was by no means an aimless day. Second, you are confusing having an aimless day and getting together with a friend on such a day, with aimlessly driving around at the same time that her friend disappears from work--she was either aimlessly driving around to comfort the baby or she was meeting with her friend. Her story is only that she was aimlessly driving around--not that she was having an aimless day and met up with her friend. Third, She did not aimlessly drive around after dropping her child off at school. She left her child at a science fair to (according to her gym manager) run and get the baby some medicine--she then went to several stores and neglected to go back to the science fair--(and pick up the science project which was the whole reason she had the truck)--and THEN she aimlessly drove around.
I agree that each of Terri's activities was focused on an objective, so not aimless. I also agree with debs, however, in considering whether this was an unusual day for Terri. I'd say probably not so unusual given that she is a SAHM with a toddler unburdened by time restrictions. My big question is how many other days did she spend an hour or longer driving around to soothe K.

How many other days of the school calendar did Terri Horman drive around aimlessly, outside of the disappearance of her stepson? What are the odds that in any one of those other aimless days, Terri met with one of her friends for awhile?

Is it coincidence if it's been something they've done before? Or is it only coincidence that THIS time, something also happened to her stepchild?

Should all mothers then determine not to drive around aimlessly after dropping their child off at school, and by all means never meet up with a friend, just on the off chance that an awful coincidence could occur that THEIR child might disappear from school?

However, neither she nor "friend" have said that they met up! No mention of such a thing at all.

Which friend did she meet up with? I thought AL didn't count herself as a friend.

On the contrary, IMO. I think everybody should be encouraged to meet up with as many friends they can manage because social relationships are good for us and because I'm pretty sure that Terri would be in less trouble right now if she had met up with a friend who could confirm part of her alibi.

BBM - You bring up a good point. From what the witness said in the interview, it did seem that TH gave the impression she was planning to go back to the science fair. That's why she mentioned that it would still be going on for awhile.

However, maybe this happened at the 1st Fred Meyer (which would make sense, since it would be over close to the time she was at the 2nd FM), and since they didn't have the medicine and she had to go to another store, she ran out of time to go back.

In other words, maybe she did intend to go back to the school and pick up the science project at the end of the science fair, but that plan got messed up by the store trips. That would explain why she checked about it later (emailed the teacher).

But there was nothing in TH's email or in what her mother (or anyone else) said to the media that would indicate she had intended to return.

I could almost think that, if she *did* take Kyron, then the trip to the store was part of the plan, to give the time frame when she wasn't there and he could go missing (while she was handing him off to someone else). But then I don't know how the second FM would fit that theory, since it would have thrown the whole thing off. I mean, she could have handed off Kyron, gone to FM and gotten her receipt (as she did), and come back to the school, where she would have discovered him missing. That would have given her a super-tight timeline, since the only time she would have been missing was accounted for by a store receipt.

ETA: Unless she and her accomplice got confused on which FM they were supposed to meet at! THAT would have thrown the whole thing off!

All pure speculation.

<snipped>.

I think it's interesting that 8:01, Terri was playing a game on the computer. Odd time for that, isn't it? And then to be at school in time to be seen at 8:15? I think she's quite speedy or very efficient to get all of that done.

Baby in car, Kyron in car, drive to school, park, into school, take picture all by 8:15. That's 14 minutes from computer to into the school taking pictures.

This is interesting! Do they know this because of her login or from the IP address? TIA

sbm....you must take time zones into account when looking at facebook times. when terri was playing the game, it was 8:01 on your clock in whatever timezone you live in.

if she was actually playing at 7:01 pacific time, it would show up as 10:01 if i looked at her facebook page because I am est. Am i making sense?

websleuths posts do this as well. I am writing this post at 8:30 est -anyone in pacific time zone will show i am posting at 5:30am.

If this is from her facebook posts, a number of people here have said these times don't always post accurately. I wouldn't have any personal experience but I could ask my daughter; she's into all that stuff *rolling eyes*.

Question 1:

Has anyone done a map with a maximum radius for the last known location/time for TH (2nd Fred Meyers Store @ 10:10 am), and the Gym Location at 11:30 is (sorry, don't know exact time)? There is a maximum driving radius here, in order to allow her to get from 2ndFM to the Gym. What is the furthest point at an average driving speed, in all directions, that would allow her to go to that point (and anything in between), and make it to the gym for known time?

Question 2:

Is the Albertson's store the same as the Fred Meyers? There is reference to a "grocery store" (NOT plural) in the KH/DY 25 minute audio interview.

Are there 2 FM visits PLUS an Albertson store visit?

Question 3 (Note: gruesome consideration)

Is < 90 minutes enough time to dig a hole in the ground large enough to sustain a body?

However, neither she nor "friend" have said that they met up! No mention of such a thing at all.

But the speculation is that they did indeed meet up, with no proof to verify it, and in fact, entire theories have been strung together to make it so.

I did not state that Terri met with a friend that day, or any other day. I only placed a 'coincidence' that during a day where Terri MIGHT aimlessly drive around, she might also connect with a friend and meet up.

The speculation is that they met up secretly. That casts a very different light than meeting up either by chance or to socialize. JMO

Secretly is the essence of the speculation. People are assuming they met secretly, basing this assumption only upon speculation. And the circle just goes round and round. DeDe states she never left the farm she was working on and she's declared a liar because it serves her purposes to keep this speculated meeting with Terri a secret.

It was so secretly that not even Dede or Terri know about it.

Based on my experience on Facebook, the time seems to be the time Facebook gets around to posting the item to their server. That sometimes takes a minute or more.

With games, usually you play through the game-maker's site, which connects to Facebook, and the post comes through the other site. That can add another minute.

If you're playing from a portable device like your iPod or smart phone, that can add another minute or so.

Even if she was playing at 8, that seems to be enough time to get to the school. Five minutes to load kids and stuff into the truck, ten minutes drive.

I really don't believe that Terri Horman drove around for 90 minutes trying to calm K. I didn't believe it before her e-mails became public and especially now since it contradicts the "few minutes" she claimed in her e-mail that she drove K around. Also, if her daughter was complaining of her ears bothering her, why would her mother then take her to a public daycare in 24 Hour Fitness? I have 4 children and regardless of which child does or doesn't like to ride around in a car, an hour and a half in a truck with a sick and fussy child doesn't make sense to me. That is not a "few minutes" no matter how you explain it. If I add this story of Terri's to the other circumstances of June 4, 2010--her wanting to use her husband's truck to bring the science project home after the science fair and instead leaving the school before the fair is even over, the confusion over Kyron's doctor's appointment, Terri's not coming to the talent show, and Kyron's subsequent unexplained disappearance--her "90 minute random drive" is not believable to me. I live in the Portland area, and during the late morning (when Terri was supposedly doing all of this driving around), that area of Portland is not busy with traffic at all. Besides, with all of the rain in June, that would've made the driving around not very pleasant. I don't remember if it was raining on that particular day--June 4--maybe somebody on here who lives in Portland remembers? Thanks.
