The Amy Winehouse Thread

She needs to stop wearing those crusty stained grose ballerina slippers. I love her voice I think her songs are just so awesome and her voice..man that voice, I just LOVE it. I don't think this girl even realizes her talent. She is far from the whole Britney,Avril,Jessica type made up crap. She is unique and real. It's a shame what she is doing to herself though. Drugs got a grip on her so tight I don't know if she will ever get clean to be honest this will probably be the death of her.

LOL @"crusty stained grose ballerina slippers"....no kidding, ick!

I saw Janis Joplin tonight on tv and instantly thought about Amy Winehouse.

It's really too bad all of us can see what's happening, but these people just can't. :(

STP:)
velvet revolver too...& you're right; he's an "overdose waiting to happen", more than likely...

what about Shannon Hoon?:(
Blind Melon...

I loved Shannon Hoon....another talent we will miss out on because the drugs did him in

'All I can say is that my life is pretty plain. I like watching the puddles gather rain... "

I loved that Bee girl in the video

Yes Scott Weiland is another incredible talent that is just an overdose waiting to happen.

I am a huge rock, classic rock etc fan. So many talented people we have lost due to drugs

I think it wasn't too long ago Scott Weiland's brother died of an overdose. Like here his brother dies, and he's still hanging on. It always makes me wonder. Like Hillel Slovak. Why him and not AK? Or Kristen Pffaf. I mean everyone always thought it would be Courtney.

Sad. Off the top of my head all the names just keep coming of some extremely gifted people who died of an overdose. Jason Rae just passed. Then going way back Sid Vicious.Bill Murcia. Charlie Parker. Then the "maybe's" like Chet Baker. Yeah he fell X amount of stories, but drugs racked that poor man. Never had a horn lesson in his life.

Then there's always GG Allin I think about. I didn't think he'd die from an overdose rather he'd be murdered by someone at one of his concert's.

Sorry for the hijack, and how beautiful was Shann Hoon. I better leave off on a good note. Iggy Pop, Yo.:) Prayers always for Amy. Hoping she'll make it.

Iggy Pop!! Chet Baker!!:)Your hitting all my favorites!!
Hilel Slovak was another huge loss along with Shannon Hoon.
I love Scott Weiland too.
One of the most impresive moments for me wasnt an STP performance or Velvet Revolver.
It was a VH1 Doors special where all these current frontmen from different bands came out and fronted the surviving Doors for a couple of songs.
Most all of them were trying way too hard to channel the Morrison vibe.
Scott just came out as himself not trying to do a 'thing' and Burned through 'Break On Through'.
Totaly intense.
Ironicaly by making it his own he actually reminded me more of Morrison and made the song vital. It was awesome.
Yes Mojo to him too. Weve got plenty to go around and to all the rest of Keuorac's Mad Ones out there who need a light in the dark.

Man, she is young to have that type of lung disease.
She better stop her wicked ways now because she'll pay dearly when she's older.
I doubt she will make it to "be older"...if you know what I mean. :(

:)You're kindness is wonderful, Kline.

Huge, huge SRV fan here. Huge. God rest his soul. Talented, talented man. Time seems to have gone so fast since his accident. His music has kept him alive. In fact passed to a brand spanking new generation. I took that as my responsibility.:)

Mojo it is. Maybe we can wish enough good will for Amy it will come through. We need to send some to Scott Weiland as well.
P.S. Kudos on the passing the SRV torch:)!
Ive been a Stratocaster player since the 70's
My sons Chris and Davey are metal musicians but I made sure they know Stevie Rave On as well (..and Buddy Holly and Eddie Cochran and Link Wray..) They need to know and pay respect to where it came from.
Stevie hasnt yet gained the respect that im sure he will in the future.
My one and only trip back east I moved my future ex-mother in law from Detroit back to Montana. With a trailer full of horses.
I stopped and payed my respects at the Alpine Valley (Meadow? it was 16 years ago) ski lodge in Wisconsin and the Surf Ballroom in Clear Lake Iowa.

It does seem that a lot of extremely talented people died at an early age of overdoses and/or other risky behaviors. Someone famous once said " There is a thin line between genius and insanity"....

Performing in front of 80,000 fans at the Glastonbury Music Festival (wish I was there) Amy Winehouse punched a fan who allegedly grabbed her as she sang. Sucker punched the dude.

That was looking pretty dangerous to me her going into that crowd like she did.

CONCERT TIX: 300 Euros

REFREASHMENTS: 100 Euros

GETTING SUCKER PUNCHED BY AMY WINEHOUSE: PRICELESS

I'm sick of the sight of her now to be honest. We are forever being bombarded with her face and her antics over here. Her performance at Glastonbury was shameful. She doesnt want the help offered. I saw a report the other day where her father was trying to keep her in the house and she tricked him into saying she wanted fresh air and then ran out to get to the pub. There was pics of him trying to stop her.
She has a great voice but thats about it.(shrugs)

Amy Winehouse smacks down her own bodyguard last night!!

Cementing her reputation as a star not to be messed with, the 24-year-old got into her third brawl in two weeks - with her own minder.

Returning home from the Good Mixer, one of her regular Camden haunts, Amy hit her waiting bodyguard directly in the face last night.

Somebody get this girl a manicure, STAT! :puke:

Rehab - no, no, no
Personal Hygiene - no, no, no

Throw her into a decontamination chamber and quarantine that hair.

Yep and thats how she sounded at Glastonbury too when she was singing and running round drunk like an idiot. Slurring her words and everything. There is other footage online of her singing in Lisbon I think and she just sounds truly awful.

One of our papers exposed letters that her hubby has been writing another woman from prison where he talks about allsorts of nasty stuff I cant type here, that he wants to do with this woman when he gets released so expect more headlines when that happens:rolleyes:

No kidding!! She is a methface.. or meth head, or whatever they are called. She is heroin skinny..starving skinny, and I am surprised that she is still alive.

Did someone say that she is TWENTY FOUR years old??? She looks like she could be 40 years old.

Remember that commercial, "this is your brain on drugs"? It was a frying egg.
I think they could remake that commercial with Whinehouses picture.
