The Animal Hair/Fur

Well, I can't say I would dismiss that idea. The animal fur had to get all in the trunk and in the trash bag some how!
Unless the gas tanks came in contact with hair somewhere and were placed back in the trunk with transfer occurring...this is so strange. I started thinking about the vacuum cleaners as well. Did the tests of the contents come out in the recent dump?

ETA: just curious if anyone read what CBS is titling their story?

i think someone had a furcoat

certainly not because of florida weather.. but didnt they move from the northern area of the USA
Not sure how long they had the car...but they were out of Ohio most of Casey's life.

I have 2 thoughts on this:
#1 The AH in the trunk and wheel well most likely got there by transference from the spare tire. She did recently have flat tires, and we all have dead animal "stuff" on our tires from driving over roadkill.

#2 She borrowed that shovel for something, and although I have no proof, I do not think she came home "on a whim" to dig up bamboo roots. Perhaps she went and scraped up some roadkill to leave in the trunk to have an excuse for the odor the car was emitting.

moo.

We have all sorts of furry creatures in the woods where i come from, fox, badger, skunk, coon, to name a few, but does anyone know what ones might inhabit the woods in that area??

When we lived in Tampa we had lots of raccoons, squirrels, possums, cats... but if the fur was on her doll, too, I guess it must have been from a pet.

Didn't the Anthony's have a cat? I think I remember seeing one with Cindy in an early video of Cindy showing the house.

I have heard it mentioned here before that they have or had a cat, I missed that bit of video myself, wish I'd seen it.

Oh, I see where you guys were talking about the animal hairs, on the remains, page 10. http://www.cfnews13.com/uploadedFiles/Stories/Local/GASTANK-DUCTTAPEEVIDENCE.pdf

the ones that were not dog or cat hairs, banded black and brown. (Sounds exactly like one of my cat's hairs, his hairs all have brown and black bands on them, but I guess these particular ones they are writing about there were not dog or cat. Maybe a raccoon? I guess many wild animals, even squirrels, might have band markings on their individual hairs....)

Where they list her clothing taken for analysis it also says AH on a few shirts...hm this has be baffled.

You can see the cat on the table in the kitchen on the Greta house tour video.

The anthony's had an orange Tabby cat.I just saw it on what I think was Cindy's bed yesterday, and I'll try to go & hunt for the photo.

Didn't Amy or Annie have a dog? I can't remember now whose car died, but Casey knew about it. wonder if she could have had Caylee there temporarily . . . just knoodling

Well, they have two Yorkies, but they do not shed.....They have hair like us that keeps growing, that's why I got one.

I just wanted to point out that the Yorkies can not be ruled out as sources for hair/fur from the crime scene, just because they are relatively shed-free dog breeds.

All animals/people with hair will shed old strands of hair. Some just do so more than others. Some breeds of cats and dogs have thicker, longer coats and shed much more than others.

Kind of a nit pick, but I just wanted to say that it would not be impossible to find hairs from the Anthony's dogs.

Wonder if those are the shirts/clothes Casey bought at Target with Amy's (stolen) money?

Could this hair come from maybe the wild animals that got to Caylee and scattered her. Also Florida has wild hogs everywhere.

But the AH references are listed on the report of the vacuum sweepings from INSIDE the car and inside the tire well. There was mention IIRC there were AH/fur found on the pizza box.

You're right! Hmmm...and I was pretty sure the animal fur would be from some random critter at the remains site.

But INSIDE the car?

I should have been more clear. They took several clothing items from KC's closet. AH is listed underneath a few of KC's shirts.

Well, in the forensic reports when they identify something as dog or cat they state "dog hair", "cat hair"...this is "animal hair (AH), fur".

Yep, you're right, it is a very semanticky thing....

Was this hair/fur completely under the tape? Is it possible an animal was messing with the remains and a little hair got stuck to the adhesive, but not really underneath it (while it was still sticky)? There was a brief period of time that Caylee would have been on dryer land, particularly before Faye swept through...I think the water then ruined the adhesive (I am a genius with this last statement....duh!)

There was mention IIRC there were AH/fur found on the pizza box which came out of the trash bag in KC's trunk. It may turn out to be hair from one of her pets, but it was not categorized as such. I just had the thought that the crazy biotch probably put some road kill in her trunk and car to explain away the smell of decomp. Hence her text to Amy that a squirrel had climbed up underneath her car.

Casey wasn't a neat and tidy person, and I doubt she took the time to clean her car out. She may have periodically taken trash out of the car, but I think that car may have gone years without being vacuumed out.

The animal hair could have gotten into the trunk of the car transferred from a beach blanket or picnic blanket that was in her car long before Caylee's demise.

Once you spread a blanket out on the beach or on the grass at a park for a picnic, that blanket is going to pick up all sorts of stuff including hair from animals.

I think LisaNY's theory of it originating from a changed/spare tire is very logical as well as Leila's idea of the picnic/beach blanket. Either one of these events could be the cause of several different types of animal hairs to accumulate in the trunk and in turn contaminate anything else that was ever transported in the trunk. (Casey did take some of her clothes over to Tony's ~ perhaps those blouses were in the trunk at one time.) The only thing that bothers me is that I don't like to think that Caylee's "Momma Doll" was in there!!! Surely we would have heard if Tony or any of his roommates had a pet ferret or something, wouldn't we?
