The Anthony Backyard *REVISITED*

On the NG thread, someone pointed out that the hole is recorded in the cadaver dog documents we got last week...I still haven't seen those...don't know how I missed them.

Who?who? I'll PM them! Who said the cadaver dog docs are somewhere??? arghhhh gotta go look now...

Nope, my question was legit and not sarcastic. I want to know if the "Huge Gigantic Pit" is the 5 inch by 12 inch hole. I haven't been able to follow things as closely as other lately ...

Patty G, "everything old is new again".

Depression by the pool. :woohoo:

I don't think 12 inches wide by 5 inches deep is a large hole at all. Assuming she used the neighbors shovel it would appear to be one scoop worth. Which sounds about right if you assume she lost interest in physical labor and decided to go another route.

ITA. 12" would be about the width of a normal shovel, 5" would be approx. 1 pass into the dirt IMO. I believe in a panic KC may have tried to bury Caylee in the backyard, then decided that was not going to work, or it was just too much work in her twisted mind.

I ment I was being sarcastic not you?

I think it is a bit daft to have a "Large Hole in Backyard - George saw it" thread at all.
It is not true and the information about disturbed soil is 5 to 6 months old.

Docs p3177

"...I was informed by ASL Vincent that the owner of the residence of 4937 Hopespring Drive, Mr. George Anthony, observed an area in his backyard where the soil appeared to be disturbed."
It is described somewhere else as well as GA was not aware of it, but I can not find the second reference at the moment.

Thank you for that! I will find that in the docs and review it. Do we have a statement from Vincent?

Have not seen Greta yet, but here is what I remember happening in the news about the back yard.

A hibiscus plant between the pool and the house was moved to another area of the yard, so that the pool box could be shoved against the house, rather than the pool, as KC could get into the pool by climbing on the box. CA explained it to Greta on a home tour. LE already knew about it. When LE saw it, they asked CA and GA about it and this is the answer they gave.

There was a seperate reporting about a depression in the back yard, location unknown. LE asked GA about it and GA said he had just recently noticed it himself. One might conclude that the depression was recent from this information and is not the previously mentioned dug -up plant spot.

There are aerial photos of the detectives and techs working the back yard. In particular there is an area in the playground corner where the evidence flags form an oval shape, looks to be about 3'x 2' and depressed.

5" deep x 12" inches long is not a large hole. My dog can do that in 10 seconds or less. In fact, we may have a reason for the hole. Dogs digging around the playhouse. I think the shovel was used as a lever to life the playhouse to retrieve the body on the 18th. I think she tried to use a piece of leftover board first, it broke causing her to ask to borrow BB's shovel and responsible for the white board sightings at the final dump site. (JMHO)

So, I have 3 total holes/depressions/plant removals.

Don't forget !! In the Greta interview the ladder was CLEARLY on the pool - not back against the house or whatever they said about keeping it off of the pool for Caylee's sake!

bolded by me.

I agree HP very misleading. Doesn't hurt to go over evidence again because things that we know now help you see the old stuff in a differnet light but....a more appriate title would have been lets look at the A's back yard again.

This bomshell ended up being a dud.

Yeesh! Everybody stop being mean!

Every thread I've read today is full of "snarky" (so glad that isn't a cuss word!)!!!

I'm going to bed

Oh and for the record - I caught your sarcasm Hercule....lol

All I remember is "soil disturbed" but 5" X12" is not a mere disturbance in the soil OR a huge, gigantic, tremendous, enormous, fantastical HOLE....I would have expected whomever reported it to be just a bit more descriptive than "disturbed soil" - my DOG disturbs the soil with one paw and it's not 5X12...

LOL :)

I remember the report concerning the hole dug near the pool. In my opinion Casey started digging but considering how lazy she was, she decided it was way too much trouble and nixed the idea and decided to just dump Caylee in the trunk until something easier came to mind. LP also said that she would not dig a hole and would not carry her very far...and it turns out he was right.

It was discussed on NG tonight...no one is forcing anyone to participate in this thread...there are lots of others if you think this is nothing but old news.

Tonight on NG it was reported that LE found a hole dug in the backyard and that George had told people he noticed it before. How was this kept quiet for so long? Why didn't George tell LE about this and why did they say they just did regular gardening and that is why the soil was disturbed? Were they covering for Casey or did they really think the hole in the ground wasn't relevant and not worth telling LE about? Or did they just think that telling "mistruths" was ok?

Could this be part of the OJ they are talking about re the gp's?

I hope we can get the exact words used on NG soon....I didn't get it verbatim, but think this is the gist of it.

We DID hear about this before. GA and CA told LE that they had done their own investigation into the backyard because the soil had been "disturbed". When LE asked to search back there the reply was (paraphrased), "Go ahead, we've already looked back there."

That's why I've been saying that Casey DID do some digging back there (and likely changed her mind). Further, then CA went in the media and jabbered about Casey maybe digging up "bamboo". Yeah, RIGHT!

In addition, in the flyover pictures of the A family home you can clearly see the criminalists have marked off a certain spot next to the playhouse with little flags in the shape of an oval.

Sorry. My sense of humour.

No reason why the info shouldn't be discussed agin since it came up on NG, but "Large hole" is simply wrong.

Thank you.

And I agree that it is not a "mere disturbance". If LE had thought that was all it was, they wouldn't have called in cadaver dogs.

Thanks.

Unfortunately I cringe most days when I read the NG thread. Often just plain wrong.

One would think KC would not want to bother with the work of digging for a place to bury Caylee in the yard. But also, maybe it dawned on her that their own dogs would certainly create interest to that area. I still believe she attempted it, but aborted and put her back in the trunk. JMHO

And it may not be old news to everyone. There are new Websleuthers as well as sleuthers who may have previously focused on other aspects of the case. There are a lot of avenues to explore.
