You know...I've thought about this. I want to feel sorry for the Anthonys because they lost their granddaughter. And also, because GA is kind of an easy mark (and I purposely use the word "mark" for I don't think she views anyone in her life as a human being, just as people she can take advantage of and use for her own benefit) for KC - as apparent from the interview transcripts, he's really not that bright, and has no say in his own home, nor does he have much of a backbone. That being said, these two "parents" had a huge hand in creating this monster. Why? Because in all of the interviews and the numerous, numerous times their own daughter lied to them and STOLE MONEY from them, even hacked into their accounts to do so, never once did I see any consequences whatsoever put on her. I firmly believe that she was raised without them and learned how to run circles around them because she would never be held accountable for her actions. I think if I could ask them anything, it would be, why wasn't she ever punished for this??? If I had hacked into my mother's bank account and stolen hundreds of dollars, you can bet she would have called police on me and I would have faced the consequences. Cindy seems to have no problem and no reaction to it whatsoever. That to me is highly disturbing. Maybe the problem is that these parents really WOULD do anything for her, and I don't know if that's an admirable skill to have as a parent - if you know Dad will always bail you out, what's to stop you from doing whatever you want to do and leave him to deal with it, especially if you already have little to no respect for him? And their only basis for considering KC a good mom to own daughter was that her kid was always "clean and fed". Well, I guess there's nothing in their moral playbook about setting a good example or setting limits/discipline, the value of working hard to become successful and self-sufficient (just when did they expect her to stop stealing money and actually work?), and teaching kids right from wrong. It just blows my mind. And I don't think they will change, even when thrown under the bus. I think GA and CA really WILL lay on their swords for her, as they've always done, and to them this is being a "good parent". Sorry, but I have higher standards than that, and a jaded view of humanity - people just don't change like that overnight, they are mostly set in their ways.
