So if your logic follows through, and we hear from Shirley, does this mean we will hold Shirley responsible for Cindy's behavior like we are holding Cindy responsible for ICA's behavior.

We have to also remember that Shirley let "slip" that Cindy had been to see her prior to LE showing up at her door that afternoon of the storm.
She made a statement to one of the LE, that she hoped that Cindy wouldn't be mad at her for saying to much ~
She had been "coached", IMO.

I think that her daily e-mails with her sister, are probably the closest to the trueth that we will see.
Cindy has a hold on her mother as well.

We all laughed and joked when we read Shirley's interview, her going off in differant directions, rambling about the cat, etc, but, we don't know if that was a nervous reaction, or, a well planned act, or a little of both. Obviously, at that time, she didn't know everything; and probably still doesn't.
But, on the stand, it would only be opinion ~ Everyone has one of those ~ I don't think for one minute that Cindy has ever told her more than she abosultely has had to "to get by".

She messed up a couple of times, with her wondering out loud if Casey hated her mother more than she loved Caylee.

She's a little old lady, and, no one likes to put down a little old lady, or, even think that she could be a party to what has taken place.
But, we really don't know the dymanics of that family, and, how far back it goes.
Her e-mail conversations with her sister carry more weight, IMO, than what we might hear on the stand.

Now, Rick on the other hand, is a differant story.
He took the tough-love stance with his son, he told Cindy straight up that she was nuts more or less.

There is a reason that the siblings on both sides have had little to nothing to do with the Anthony's.
Brother Rick may shed the light on that subject. Mother Shirley may suger coat it.

I have no trouble putting down a little old lady - cause I'm damned near there myself. Old age does not bring innocence - generally speaking it brings the exact opposite.

And I was pretty impressed with how highly manipulative Shirley - oh geez - I hope Cindy won't be mad at me because I let something "slip"! Ha! How many hurtful gossipers out there do you know who say things like -" Oh I didn't mean to tell you that, don't tell another soul" or who drop little digs here and there they know will be picked and carried away to become bigger hurtful stories - those "it's a secret" souls out there.

I thought Mother Shirley was showing a streak of cruelty when she dropped that little bomb. This was HER daughter she was talking about. Did she rush to Cindy's aid? Did she say how devastated Cindy was and how her heart was breaking for her? Did she say anything in Cindy's defense. I didn't see it. What I saw was a kind of delight that Cindy was finally receiving her comeuppance - all in a little old lady "innocent" "why I wouldn't hurt a fly" kind of way.

Not O/T, but certainly sounds like it right now...didn't CA say that her father babysat Casey when they first moved down, when she was three? We may need their testimony to keep grandpa Alex from being tossed under the bus. MOO

I think Shirley has to be called as a witness because she is one of the only people that really knew what was going on in that home between these two women and is willing to tell the truth, which has been hard to come by in this family. She was also one of the last people to see Caylee alive.

I do place blame on Cindy for Shirley having to testify. If Cindy would step up and tell the truth and take that awful burden off her poor mothers shoulders, this could all have been prevented. Unfortunately, that will not happen. So yes, Cindy is to blame for her mother having to be subjected to this.

Of course Casey is ultimately to blame for what Shirley is going to have to go through, but I gave up any hope of her telling the truth on day 31.

I hate that she is going to have to testify and I think it is awful to have to put her through it... but we're talking about Justice for Caylee. If she is the only one who is willing to tell the truth in this family... Caylee needs her.

At this point I am not holding Shirley responsible for anything. That could change when or if we ever learn more.
Casey is the one on trial and she is also the one to hold all responsibility for the err of her ways.
It does appear there is a very screwed up lineage in Cindy's family and we have no idea how many generations back this may go.
Maybe it will all become clear to us at trial.:crazy:

You bet that has been brought up ~ Diane Fanning wrote about it in her book. I've long held that it will be brought up, but, only if Grandpa has passed on come trial time; ie, another reason for the dragging of the feet on the defense side.

Those hours that have been requested for PI work to Ohio are not to see what Casey's childhood was like.
It's to investigate George from back then, and, IMO, Grandpa Alex.
I've mentioned it before, and will leave it at that.

Oh I totally agree with you, the investigation in Ohio has NOTHING to do with Casey, and EVERYTHING to do with looking into the Anthony family history. Which is also why they don't want to have to show their hand in regards to penalty phase witnesses, it's going to be all about how poor Casey was sexually abused as a child and the effect it had on her.

And for the record, I think she is lying about past sexual abuse, don't believe it for a second.

Yes, George, as well as Cindy have remarked that George has a sister that lives in Florida, not far from them, that they have said has "head problems".

It was this sister that George was so p-o'd at for not coming down to help in the beginning, when apparently, she had told them that she would. Then, she never showed up.

George mentioned a brother, possibly Cindy's, that could have easily written a 6 figure check and never "missed it", but there was never any offer of help from him. He lives down my Miami?
It was very plain that there was a lot of jealousy with that statement, in regards to the money. George was seething and you could almost the see the smoke wafting from his ears as he told that.

I think that Cindy's 2 other brothers wrote her off a long time ago from the sounds of it. Even prior to this happening. I think that the only one she had anything to do with was Rick, and we see how that has gone.
I think that he is the only one that has stood up to her, that we have seen. I guess it's quite possible that the other 2 brothers had their say and day with Cindy long ago and walked out of her life, I guess, IMO.

But, it is odd that there has been nothing at all from George's side of the family.
I don't even know if any of them attended Caylee's Memorial Service. The only family member that I saw was Shirley, sitting in the row behind Cindy and Crew.
That made me angry, as I always thought that she should have been sitting beside them for support.
There was few times that the camera panned to her, and she was visably upset and crying and shaking.

I'm gong to venture a guess and say that the missing family members are not easily duped and had this mystery solved within five minutes.
Yes, I noticed George seems to be continually focused on money. "He could have written a check", "my sisters have never had to work, always had someone to take care of them. "
Even in his under the microscope essay, he took several cheap shots at family while saying "I thought family stood by you no matter what." And he saw nothing wrong with this. Poor widdle victim George.
The sister with "head problems"...going out on another limb here, after hearing this description from brother George is probably when she went back home. It was my understanding that she did come down to help, however IMO she wasn't as efficient as GA and CA would have liked. Or maybe she did not show up with the check they expected.

I think they have given us ample glimpses of the truth. That head issue George spoke of IMO is laziness and it didn't skip over anyone. It will be almost a pleasure to watch these unusual people twist on the stand.

I remember those comments also about George's sister's not having to work ~ Clearly, he figured that it should apply to him as well.

It will be intersting to see if any of the rest of the extended family members have anything to say, or, if they will called to testify later on for anything?
I also think it would be intersting to read a book from their side of view, though, I don't think that they will fall to that level. But, man, can you imagine the flipping out if any of them did ~!

Regarding my bold..... if indeed, Shirley does have to take the stand, Cindy will not feel any responsibility...... she will blame the State and/or the investigators.

I think everyone is going to have to tell the truth on the stand just as Cindy did when she was up the last time trying to keep the 911 call out. She admitted George said it smelled like a dead body. The prosecutor has ALL the original interviews and the most damning are George's and Lee's. The 911 call by Cindy is also damning. It is one thing to lie to the lawyers during the deposition and quite another to lie in a courtroom to prosecutors and the Judge. And what a Judge.

I'll have to go back and watch that hearing again, but I am pretty sure that Cindy was caught in a lie on the stand... I know I caught it because I was like... whoa...whoa... whoa. She had said one thing earlier in her testimony and then said something completely different when she was asked about it by JB. I'm going to go re-watch it and I'll be back...

Oh, and she said that Caylee was alive! If that isn't a bold-faced lie, I don't know what is!

ETA: Anyone know where I can find the video of Cindy testifying at this hearing? I've looked everywhere and I can only seem to find clips of her testifying?

^ yeah if anyone finds the 911 hearing online let me know too, I was looking for it a few weeks ago and couldn't find it either. WISH some news agency would just keep all the hearings in one place for reference like CFNEWS13 did until they went to the dark side and deleted the lot grrr.
