I'll have to go back and watch that hearing again, but I am pretty sure that Cindy was caught in a lie on the stand... I know I caught it because I was like... whoa...whoa... whoa. She had said one thing earlier in her testimony and then said something completely different when she was asked about it by JB. I'm going to go re-watch it and I'll be back...

Oh, and she said that Caylee was alive! If that isn't a bold-faced lie, I don't know what is!

ETA: Anyone know where I can find the video of Cindy testifying at this hearing? I've looked everywhere and I can only seem to find clips of her testifying?

One of my favorite hearings EVER. Cindy learned that day, thanks to the AWESOME LDB, that she cannot lie on the stand. LDB tore her testimony to pieces because she was so prepared. She became my hero that day. I now know that the Anthony's won't be able to twist their words or lie in court to try and get Casey acquitted. The truth is going to be all they are allowed to say, and it's going to hurt like heck. I can't wait to see that. GO LDB!

I so agree with you Aedrys - it was one of the best.
For me it was LDB saying "Fair Warning, Cindy". You will not be able to lie on the stand, you will not be able to avoid saying anything negative about ICA and you will have to finally admit Caylee is dead. Dead. And while you won't have to admit your daughter killed her, the SA will make it abundantly clear to you. There will be no more pulling the covers over your head to make the bogey man go away.

And finally, I think she was warning Cindy that this was just a little thin slice of how stressful the trial will be because it will be worse, much worse.

I do not think anyone will crack. They are too far in denial. I also think that each one has something to lose if they do crack, and I mean would have to admit involvement in the coverup.

JMO

LaLaw, I think you are 100% spot-on here.

When this thread started, I voted that GA would "crack" first.

But after 2.5 years of their antics, I now think that not one single Anthony would ever admit the truth, even if it walked up and bopped them in the nose.

CA knew the truth from the early moments and we have seen how much she has tried to deny, deflect, dissemble and distance not only herself but the whole clan from it. (And here I insert mad props to TWA for keeping all those early vids in our collective conscience. :blowkiss: You have done more for Caylee than her blood has, TWA.)

LA, who was present at the early moments, knew too. He tried to believe his sister's fabrications, tried to go "undercover" for her--but his absence speaks louder than words.

And GA. Oh GA. :banghead: Of all the ugly layers exposed by this mess that your daughter created, perhaps the hardest for me to accept is your spineless betrayal of your precious granddaughter to save KC's sorry :butthead:. You knew too. You knew as soon as you smelled that car. Your wife was still inside at the counter, arguing over prices, and your mind had already made the inevitable leaps. You knew then what had happened. You tried so hard to fool yourself, to go along with Cindy's what-ifs. But the fact remains that YOU KNEW. Body or no in that trunk, the stench of death could only mean one thing. YOU KNEW. Before Lee knew, before Cindy knew, YOU KNEW.

And you did nothing, save to drive the reeking car home, hanging your head out the window in the rain so you didn't gag on the smell of your granddaughter's decay, and leave it all for Cindy to clean up.

Thank God for the bit of honesty you were able to muster when interviewed by your LE brothers, and for whatever it was you said in the GJ testimony.

^ yeah if anyone finds the 911 hearing online let me know too, I was looking for it a few weeks ago and couldn't find it either. WISH some news agency would just keep all the hearings in one place for reference like CFNEWS13 did until they went to the dark side and deleted the lot grrr.

Here you go, the 911 Call Hearing in 9 parts:

I was reading the transcript from GA's interview with OCSO and I swear, he is trying to manipulate them into giving him information, IMO, presenting himself as the old cop GA. He gave them nothing they did not already have, but was pumping them for stuff. And they were awesome. They never bit!

...unlike cindy's brothers, that didn't show up to help, 2 of george's sisters and his Mom arrived..

--george---OCSO interview---07/24/2008.

GA: " My sister, I got one sister here right now that I can't get motivated to assist us cause she's constantly in this "Oh My God What am I gonna do?" type thing. I called her this morning, she's supposed to be at the call centre 8 o'clock, no, 6:30. I know this is getting personal, I said "listen, you gotta get going, matter of fact you gotta get your 🤬🤬🤬 moving!"

"Oh George, am I late?" "I said, forget it". "you don't want to motivate yourself to help me find Caylee, go on back to Bonita Springs where you and Jon live and just leave me alone....."

"But my sister has had a lot of issues over the years, Im just wondering if something skipped over to Kc..I, I don't want to think that.."
~ ~ ~ ~

"If I'm gonna ask my one brother-in-law, who's a multi-millionaire, do you have money that can help us? Hopefully he'll do it, probably he won't."

"My sister, her name is Ruthie, should be arriving Orlando International anytime, they live in the Carolinas. She's flying down to help, her husband is an engineer and stuff like that, to him 50 grand, 100 grand, it's like you dropping a thousand bucks..."

---cindy---state depo----july 29, 2009.

"So, my focus that evening was dealing with OCSO, picking up the car, and then dealing with George's Mom and sister who came to the house that day they heard Caylee was missing. They drove down from Ft.Myers, which we didn't ask them to---they just showed up."

( note of interest----it was george's sister ruthie that was in the hospital-------tended to by nurse cindy plesea-----when george met cindy ).

( wedded bliss followed...)

God forbid she be a little grateful that she didn't need to call them and ask them to come.. that they cared enough to "just show up". Most people would be grateful, no?

OLG, this was GA talking about his own family.

But it's totally understandable that one would be confused. GA didn't just drink the Kool-Aid. He took a bath in it. Seriously, if we played a game of "guess who said this quote" anyone would think by the tone that the quoted bits above were CA.

(Do we have a "guess who said this quote" game yet? Do we want to start one in the parking lot? Or would it just be too obvious to anyone who's been following this circus for more than 15 minutes?)

I don't think any of the Anthonys will tell the truth come trial time. Save for Shirley (she I wager will tell the truth and it will mean Cindy writes her off totally). But if any of the Anthonys does by chance tell the truth the most likely one would be George, but chances of him doing so are very very very low.

  • #250
I think everyone is going to have to tell the truth on the stand just as Cindy did when she was up the last time trying to keep the 911 call out. She admitted George said it smelled like a dead body. The prosecutor has ALL the original interviews and the most damning are George's and Lee's. The 911 call by Cindy is also damning. It is one thing to lie to the lawyers during the deposition and quite another to lie in a courtroom to prosecutors and the Judge. And what a Judge.

I respectfully disagree. Cindy ended her testimony by saying she still believes Caylee is alive.I don't believe her for a minute. That was a taste of what she 's hoping will create reasonable doubt to the jury.Cindy doesn't act like Caylee is still alive .She's been on a cruise and she's done interviews.Where is the frantic Grandmother begging LE to find Caylee? Why isn't she imploring with the public as often as possible to find her grandaughter? Is she okay with just sitting around while God knows what is happening to her still alive Caylee? I think not. It's just another Anthony "story" ,better known as a lie, perjury.
I will never forget at the end of an LE statement she was asked to swear it was the truth. She said something like "I didn't know I was going to have to take an oath!" Yep,that's Cindy for you.

JSR, I'm right with you. When I think of "the Anthonys" I think GACALAKC. Shirley and Rick are in a different mental category for me.

I wonder how much Lee is like his uncle Rick. And how much Shirley is like her daughter Cindy.

KWIM?

lol I hear ya, they are all a bit "off".. but the portion I quoted, about them just showing up was in Cindy's state depo. She's refering to George's Mom and sister and having to deal with them as well as the other things she was dealing with that day (whatever day that was).

I do KWYM. I often wonder how Cindy ended up the way she is. Because Cindy isn't to blame for Caylee's murder but she definitely contributed to the psychological perfect storm which contributed to Casey's decision to murder Caylee. There's no doubt about that. I mean Casey was never going to allow Caylee to live until adulthood but the timing of when Casey decided to put an end to Caylee was in part due to Cindy and her antics.

JSR thank you soooo much for saying that. I think we are looking at the end result of a multi-generational avalanche combined with an off-the-rails trainwreck when we look at GA/CA/LA/KC, and what happened to Caylee. :cow:

(ETA: I am NOT trying to lay blame at the feet of anyone here. Whatever happened to Caylee, neither her uncle nor her great grandma nor anybody other than her own mother was responsible.)

I completely agree. Much like the family dynamics played a part in how Scott Peterson developed I believe the same can be said for Casey. We just don't know the entire picture of the Anthony clan. And it would be interesting to know and I have a feeling if Casey is found guilty we'll get some insight from the penalty phase witnesses.
But even if Caylee had lived she still wouldn't have a chance in hell of growing up as a normal functioning adult. I'm certain she would have developed issues that seem to plague this family. Why the hell Mallory doesn't run like hell for the hills is beyond me. The Anthony family is definitely bad news bears. Can you IMAGINE having a mother-in-law like Cindy? I'd rather eat shards of glass.

That is one of his con-man tools. Becoming a chameleon to mold himself into the appearance of those he's manipulating (his effort to try to find out what they knew). All JMO.

Yes, George, as well as Cindy have remarked that George has a sister that lives in Florida, not far from them, that they have said has "head problems".

It was this sister that George was so p-o'd at for not coming down to help in the beginning, when apparently, she had told them that she would. Then, she never showed up.

George mentioned a brother, possibly Cindy's, that could have easily written a 6 figure check and never "missed it", but there was never any offer of help from him. He lives down my Miami?
It was very plain that there was a lot of jealousy with that statement, in regards to the money. George was seething and you could almost the see the smoke wafting from his ears as he told that.

I think that Cindy's 2 other brothers wrote her off a long time ago from the sounds of it. Even prior to this happening. I think that the only one she had anything to do with was Rick, and we see how that has gone.
I think that he is the only one that has stood up to her, that we have seen. I guess it's quite possible that the other 2 brothers had their say and day with Cindy long ago and walked out of her life, I guess, IMO.

But, it is odd that there has been nothing at all from George's side of the family.
I don't even know if any of them attended Caylee's Memorial Service. The only family member that I saw was Shirley, sitting in the row behind Cindy and Crew.
That made me angry, as I always thought that she should have been sitting beside them for support.
There was few times that the camera panned to her, and she was visably upset and crying and shaking.

George's mother and sister were there initially. In a very early article Cindy stated that she had to tell the media people to watch where they put all their cables as her mother-in-law tripped on one and almost fell. She also stated how they found out that Casey had been arrested on July 16th. She said that she, George, and his sister were monitoring the television waiting for an Amber Alert on Caylee when a friend called and told them that Casey had been arrested and told them to turn their channel to the station that was covering her arrest.

A few days later there was a picture of George and a woman at a card table passing out "missing" fliers on Caylee. In the caption, the woman was identified as George's sister. That was the one and only time I saw a picture of her. She and her mother disappeared after that first week.

If Eileen Wournos couldn't get any sympathy for her proven horrid childhood then Casey sure won't get any for being raised by two parents, having giving grandparents, friends, a nice home, school, support, etc. Some phony letter written from jail about a sports bra pulling up over saggy 🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬 during the night and saying her Mom doesn't like Mexicans is really sympathetic (sarcasm). There's lots of proof of premeditation so it doesn't matter what Cindy says or does that riles up the public. The jury won't be impressed by a hardworking Mom who supported her kids andhusband or impressed by a brother and Dad suddenly accused of molestation by someone mooching and stealing and lying from them all while looking up ways to kill on the PC. I highly doubt if anything from her childhood or parents personalities are brought up at all during the trial. If they are brought up, hopefully it will be in a long long list of Casey's victims and those she severely abused.

Wow, I had no idea his sister and mom were actually there. And the fact that they disappeared after only a WEEK tells me they figured out fast who was at fault here and that Caylee was NOT missing. You'd think family backing away from you would tell you something, but not the A's, apparently.

These are little details I've remembered, and it's these little details that have helped form a picture of what was likely going on in the Anthony household initially.

I've always felt that Cindy's frantic 911 call was the closest to reality we've heard from her. I think for those first few hours, from the time she learned from Casey that Caylee was missing to the following day when they learned that Casey had been arrested, that she believed and clung to Casey's story that Zanny the nanny kidnapped Caylee. When they learned that Casey had been arrested for lying to LE, obstruction of justice, and child endangerment, I feel that had to have been the moment George and Cindy knew with certainty that Caylee was dead.

I surmise that George's mother and sister also knew that Caylee was dead. We don't know when George's mother went home, but it would appear that George's sister stayed for a few more days, helped George pass out fliers, and then she too left.
