You are a strong woman Blaise and it apparently rubbed off on your children.
God, I always feel so guilty when someone says that. I did what *most* women would do -- took one step at a time and kept going forward.
It helped me to remember that many, many people had faced what we were facing. I was not alone, and we were not 'special'. And the few times I said, 'why us? why **my** daughters??', I had relatives who said, 'so someone else's daughters?'
The sad fact is that not a week goes by when you do not read of some mother killing their baby. Each of these killers had parents, of various degrees of quality.
Casey Anthony is not special.
George and Cindy Anthony are not special.
They are the ones who drove the little car from whence the clowns came piling out. *They* are the single biggest factor that made this case 'special'.
