I don't even think it will be so much "trapping" them into telling the truth. Because if GA and CA and LA simply stick to the facts, the pure facts, that will show the truth. The facts point to nothing less than the truth.

I guess what I meant by "trapping" them was the State will get George and Cindy to admit to certain things... and not because they want to. I believe they will be forced on either direct or cross examination by the State to admit to certain truthful things that C & G never intended to say while on the stand.

I didn't mean to imply the State would be less than forthcoming in their questioning of C & G.

I don't think the State is going to have any trouble keeping the Anthony's on the straight and narrow when it comes to their testimony at trial... they are not going to allow any of them to go on one of their wild tangents. They may try... but they will be shot down.

My problem is with what the defense is going to allow them to do
... and I believe the defense will have no problem trapping them into their earlier lies by bringing up prior statements that contradict what they are testifying to. I think that Cindy will play the sweet, innocent and grieving grandmother for the state... but when it comes to the defense, I believe Cindy's true colors will shine through... and that is exactly what the defense wants and they are going to bait her... and something good.

BBM-I am not sure if they will go on tangents or not. Their behavior outside the courtroom and in the civil case dictates that they would-But in the criminal case and (for the most part) the LE interviews and depos with the state, the A's smugness actually causes them to be brief with LDB, and for some odd reason, they actually have tended to stick to the facts...
Now ITA about the defense-The defense will encourage the tangents and will get them because of the A's notion that JB is the good guy they can talk to, LDB is the evil lady they have to be short with.

Let's see how they act in front of a jury, though-that may be a squirrel of a different color...

When George was deposed by John Morgan, Morgan brings up his responses to Yuri and the FBI on several things - and Morgan reads George's testimony, e.g. odor in the trunk and George admits he said it and agrees with the answer STILL.

So, there is much that they can bring up e.g. her not working at all, the fact that she was stealing and trying to pass off made up deposit slips. I know the prosecution said they realize that there are certain things that cannot be brought up; however, they want some latitude with things that show KC's demeanor, etc.

Cindy is extremely smug at times, but this is all going to go away when she realizes the questions the State will throw at her family. She may say, it is going to be crazy, but I do not think she realizes the extent to how crazy it will be in that the truth is going to be glaring.

Although, she may have her denial so wrapped around her brain that she refuses and does the sociopathic thing and says - no one saw her kill and so she didn't.

Agree...she also stated, there was no evidence tying ICA to Caylee's demise. No fingerprints, no hairs, no DNA, nothing....I can't wait for her to be discredited on the stand. She must remember, perjury is jail time. So, if she doesn't want a cell beside her MOTY child, she best be truthful...JMHO

I can imagine how many objections will be given as she testifies, how many side bars, how much frustration but the prosecution will get Caylee her justice...even as her family wants to deny this justice, Caylee's justice is front and center...JMHO

Justice for Caylee

Maybe one day during an afternoon thunderstorm one of them will get struck by lightning and the resultant shock will at long last acquaint their ~unusual~ brain with the truth, which they then will reveal. It's a long shot but it's our best hope.

There could be issues related to their testimony if they go at 90 degrees to their depositions. I think there will be alot of "I don't remember" or "If I said that in my deposition it must be true".

Given that almost 3 years have passed since Caylee disappeared, it will be hard to disallow "I don't remember". It will be interesting to see how the State approach the questions to the family.

I doubt anyone will "suddenly see the light" unless it is Casey - which seems somewhat unlikely but not impossible if she understands that she is in DP territory.

After the Jury was released today, DT asked for a copy of GA's Grand Jury transcript. CM requested the copy saying he thinks GA testimony is already impeachable.
DT wants to compare what GA is now saying to his gj transcript.

State says they have a copy and will give one to JP tomorrow morning.

JA suggested an in camera review by the court to determine conflicts.
Is this transcript exempt from the Sunshine Law?

It's kind of OT, but I did find it funny that more people thought ICA would crack before CA did....snicker...

So, on a serious note, if GA has impeached himself, what does that mean? Will the jury have to disregard his testimony?

Interesting question. To ask me what I think is going to happen in this case is almost cruel. What do I really think is going to happen? 05-22-2010, 03:08 PM

Casey may actually throw one of her parents under the bus, or even her brother. I think if she did throw a family member under, then there's a slight chance they would spill the real truth. GA is already having a hard time being accused of the molestation of Casey as a young girl. Cindy was so involved it wouldn't take much to stick her in the crime. Who can say what will occur in a year?

IMO, if things continue as they have been going, then none of them will tell the truth about how this precious little girl, Caylee, ended up dead in the woods.

Maybe CA will finally tell about the big fight on the 15th?

  • #430
I dont know but if I was LA after the testimony today from TL when the judge questioned him. I would let ICA have it with full barrels with the truth and nothing but the truth :twocents:

Young guy with a lot to loose, being accused of incest and molesting his sister! He is going to crack IMO! No way, he is going along with this. But we will see, I may be wrong!

I would love to hear about that fight from the horse's mouth! If she spills it, I may just believe her.

It would be nice for any one of them to tell the truth. I have trouble imagining what a truthful "Anthony" would look like.

I would hope Lee will tell the truth. I am sure he doesnot want to be know as the perv the rest of his life, especially since it did not happen. So, he may as well get the truth out there.

I think GA is telling the truth on the stand.

CA I am not putting any bets on, but I hope she will tell the truth and help to heal and to protect what she has left of a family that can she can interact with and maybe take care of her when she is going to need later due to age or insanity that may come from all of this.

If anyone cracks I am betting on LA. He is young with a future wife, future kids. He has to much to loose if he does not tell the truth.

  • #436
mmmmmm...none of them will crack NOW.maybe, just maybe, if she's found guilty, something will happen, some things will be said when it will be about LWP/death penalty?

Yep .... HHJP will review what the DT thinks is impeachable, compare it to the GJ testimoney and if he agrees, he will give the DT ONLY that portion of the GJ testimony.

ICA must really be chomping at the bit in court ..she is so used to TALKING , TALKING , TALKING so to have to sit back and be quiet must be killing her .
Plus her temper tantrums that she pulls every time she gets confronted even a little bit .

She still talks and talks and talks at every opportunity that she's allowed to do so. She never shuts up. And even without hearing her, it's obvious that she she's arrogant and self-righteous when she talks. Bleh.

At first, when CNN stopped filiming her, it bugged me. Know I'm relieved. I'm tired of watching her behave like she's watching a movie and commenting to friends...Let the jury have her!
