Harry and Meghan's risk being seen as 'tacky' after taking JP Morgan gig | Daily Mail Online

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex may have pocketed $1 million for their first post-Megxit appearance – but experts say they could be damaging the credibility of their ‘brand’.

The couple broke their self-imposed exile in Canada to attend J P Morgan’s ‘Alternative Investment Summit’ in Miami on Thursday, but experts warned their bid to become financially independent could tarnish their image.

PR guru Mark Borkowski told The Mail on Sunday: ‘This shows how difficult it is going to be. They’ve got to make a lot of money and they are going to slip up on the way.

‘The worry is how many of these type of gigs are there going to be? How often can Harry play the card about his mental health?

‘For J P Morgan, it’s an extraordinary “get”. They clearly have the money to afford them, but Harry and Meghan need to avoid being perceived as tacky.’

Prince Harry was also facing a backlash on social media, including from critics who accused him of cashing in on his mother’s memory.

One Twitter user said: ‘I’m literally disgusted that Harry is now dragging up Diana’s death to earn money. I really didn’t think he would stoop that low. This is disgusting on a whole different level. Shameful. Their titles must be stripped completely.’

The following day they joined 425 guests at the summit in a sprawling tent in the grounds of the five-star 1 Hotel in Miami’s South Beach. A 6ft wall was erected to shield the tent from the view of tourists strolling along the beach’s famous boardwalk.

Guests included former Prime Minister Tony Blair, singer Jennifer Lopez and her boyfriend Alex Rodriguez, basketball legend Magic Johnson and billionaire NFL team owner Robert Kraft. Architect Norman Foster and Russian heiress Dasha Zhukova were also reportedly present alongside ‘dozens’ of CEOs and hedge fund tycoons”

https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/ar...ives-ex-wife-Sarah-Ferguson-Windsor-home.html

Prince Andrew has spent the day in Windsor with his ex-wife Sarah Ferguson following the announcement their daughter Beatrice is to marry in May.

The beleaguered Duke of York was pictured stony-faced behind the wheel of his Range Rover, which swept out of his house in Windsor Great Park this afternoon.

Although the Queen fired her middle son from frontline Royal duties in November, he found himself under the spotlight this week when a US lawyer berated him for refusing to cooperate with the Jeffrey Epstein investigation.

And eager not to fan the flames of public outrage even more, he turned down a promotion to the rank of Admiral awarded to mark his 60th birthday.

But Andrew was at last given reason to smile yesterday as his eldest daughter Princess Beatrice set the date for her wedding to Italian businessman Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi.

Yes! Modern times, indeed! :D She is not only becoming a wife, but a (step) mother!!! But since we now know she has known Edo since childhood, I think she already knows the son quite well. Hopefully it will be an easier transition with that history.
I sincerely hope the boy and his mother are currently safe in Britain rather than Hong Kong.

Just curious, did Harry ever attend the BAFTAS (is that the English equivilant of the Oscars) when he was in England?

I hope the “rumor” is not true because, after all a good portion of their professed reasoning for leaving Harry’s family was to avoid all that nasty publicity behind and the Oscars is NOT going to be a publicity free zone by any means!! But maybe Archie’s been left behind in Canada so Meghan doesn’t care.

Tons of media with their flashing cameras are at these events as well. So their reason to flee the UK for a peaceful time away from the tabloids is contradicting them in their current situation. They just want a positive media interaction.

Don't worry - yet more foundless rumour, no doubt emanating from the Daily Mail again (altho source wasnt quoted by OP, so just a guess).

What rumor are u referring to? They both made it well known in official statements re their hatred towards tabloids and media but yet they attend events like the JP Morgan one after they make everyone sign a disclosure. They will not be attending the Oscars anyways. That's a good thing for everyone so no one can take a video or regard his voice soliciting voice over work for his wife

That was thoughtful, not unusual, IMO, for people with kids to invite others over for playdates.
When my kids were young I would invite friends and acquaintances over to my home so the kids could play.

'Harry and Meghan got on really well with Jennifer and Alex... J-Lo was overheard inviting the couple and their baby Archie to her and Alex's house in Miami to spend time with them and their kids,' one onlooker told The Post.

It's unclear whether the former royals took the pop superstar up on her offer.

So happy for Princess Beatrice hope she has a beautiful wedding and I can't wait to see photos of her special day.
Just curious why the DM would refer to Edo as an "Italian" businessman when he was born in London and is a British born businessman.

This is a dumb story on the surface, but it makes me wonder if PH started doing some hormonal treatments that affected his mood

Prince Harry 'underwent thickening treatment' at prestigious London hair loss clinic | Daily Mail Online

There is no issue if the Duke of Sussex has decided to have hair thickening treatment. He is in the public eye and will want to look his best. I’m the same age as the Duke of Sussex and would do the same if my hair was receding.

No arguments please the thread will get shut down scroll and roll. Use your ignore button if you wish.

I also arranged play dates altho back then we just called it "coming over for tea" :D. I think H and M will be drawn to families who understand the challenges re things such as confidentiality and security. Trust will factor hugely.
