As far as Meghan's family go, it seems pretty clear to me that most of their problems long pre-date her relationship with Harry. Despite being far from her biggest fan, I can sympathise with her on that one. I come from a family background rife with long-held grudges and other miscellaneous disputes. I believe that if I or any of my children were to enter the public eye, my ex brother in law alone could supply enough vitrol to keep the Daily Mail in outrage articles for years to come.

As far as hoping that the press will modify their behaviour following the death of Caroline Flack, I honesty can't see that happening. As much as people have hit out at the actions of the tabloid press, they have still gone on those websites and read the stories published. As long as the clicks keep coming, and the ad revenue stream continues, they will keep doing what they do. The best way to fight back against it is to vote with your feet and stop visiting their websites.

Meghan Markle and Prince Harry will carry out some public engagements in the UK later this month, but from March 31, the couple will officially step back from royal duties.

After this date the couple will no longer have an office at Buckingham Palace, according to a spokesman for the couple.

Harry will attend engagements on February 28 and March 5, with Meghan joining her husband for another event at the Royal Albert Hall on March 8 to mark International Women's Day.

There will be a review after 12 months.

Meghan Markle and Harry exit date confirmed: Queen tells Meghan & Harry must leave Palace

This must be very sad for Her Majesty I hope the couple do royal engagements again at some point. I take no pleasure from this situation I just don’t think the couple should be able to make money from being royal and tarnish the monarchy in the process.

From the article:

We could fairly ask what might the prince and Meghan Markle have been thinking by trademarking their brand as a "royal" or even a royally accented thing while, simultaneously, hatching their plan to no longer perform, or be, of the rank. But the vast tangle of Megxit, largely created by the prince and Ms. Markle, has spun well beyond that question now. It would now be reasonable to ask whether the process might be going more smoothly and generously had they not chosen to announce their departure as a fait accompli, without consulting Charles or the Queen. That seems to have been the crucial mistake. It robbed the process in which they are now engaged of generosity, flexibility and mercy, in other words, all the qualities in the negotiations that both Prince Harry and Meghan Markle most need at this exact point.

^^ This is the essence of what happened and where things crossed the line. —In Meghan’s Vogue Inst-party-gram vid she said something revealing, she talked about “pushing it” further and asked to guest edit Vogue. (Well what are they going to say?)

Personally, I think they, but especially she missed the opportunity of a lifetime in the BRF. And they did a lot more than ‘push it’. —They assumed they could just quit royal duty and trade in on Harry’s royalty, in name only.

Because all this was planned, trademarked, and what-have-you, behind the scenes, it makes the whole drama of the emotionally wounded royals in the Africa film seem like a story concocted to fit the narrative of leaving.

And this is not lost on the public who after the support they showed H&M, the taxpayer price tag of the fairy tale, would naturally feel duped. DM’s article has 15k comments and counting in support of the Queen’s decision.

The Queen was gracious, and actually left room after the initial announcement for H&M to rebrand themselves on their own. And they didn’t.

All is not lost. Harry and Meghan could market themselves as Harry and Meghan and everyone knows who they are. Good luck to them. I think they are going to need it.

Why does he not go and get a job? Why should his half-sister be financially responsible for him? Would he expect Meghan to pay for his expenses if she was a waitress in a diner? It is unbelievable.

He should take a leaf out of Steven Spielberg daughters book and earn his own cash

The Queens wisdom to not do anything rash in January is admirable. I believe she wanted to give them the benefit of doubt regarding their intentions going forward. Their actions are speaking loudly in black and white. No one can deny that, no matter what the spin is.

The Queen is a class act and continues to serve in the best interest of her country.

And her family.

Yes. I imagine she would love to snatch Harry back in to the family fold. MM hasn’t exhibited any desire in extending the olive branch for the sake of family.

I havent ever been one to keep up with the royals much at all especially H&Ms seemingly constant drama, but then I dont keep with the Hollywood elites either.

Unfortunately H&Ms drama is hard to avoid since I'm a news junkie. Thank goodness it's usually only a minute or two blip then they move onto important news events.

BUT I have always greatly admired Queen Elizabeth even when I was a young girl.

She is a lovely Queen. I do love seeing all of her outfits. They are so elegant, and the way she carries herself only adds to the beauty of her outfits.

I wish her the very best . She makes wise decisions, and stands her ground . She is full of wisdom, and grace. God bless her.

Yes, I read this, and smiled. Checkmate, Queen wins.

Harry and Meghan no longer want to be "Royal", okay, then, they can no longer use the tag, "Royal".

I read how expensive it will be for Harry and Meghan to change their trademark, that it had already been registered...hmm, well, maybe they should have actually waited for the process to be completed. I really think that Meghan has had this plan for months. She never meant to live in Frogmore cottage.

Beautifully spoken! I wish she didn’t have to deal with this at any time but especially so at this point in time of her life. Nonetheless she appropriately keeps calm and carries on.

Maybe they could consider SussexLoyal as a brand.

When your family is close this is how you handle tabloid media inquiries:
"Asked how his sister is coping with the split, Kevin, a former chef who now works for car leasing firm LA Leasing, declined to comment, saying: 'Ooh, that's too much. No, I can't comment on that.' ''

No you can't come inside for a Earl Grey tea and poutine.

No I don't want your money in exchange for some "dirt" on my sister, I've got a job (and integrity), thanks.
