Kate either had a haircut in Ireland or had extensions in yesterday. I love her hair today.

It gives a good baseline for how much the tabloids exaggerate: to the Daily Mail, a 2 inch hair trim is "MUCH shorter" lol
Practically butch! ;) (JK)

I thought the same. It looks nice but it isnt too drastic as changing hairdo goes

If I was MM, there is no way I'd travel right now. I think she should cancel her trip.
That might be easier for everyone involved and better health wise.

Apart from some named cities in Italy and other more-obvious areas, there has been no instruction or advice here in the UK to avoid travel.

I think it's important that public figures endorse the keep calm, take some precautionary measures and carry on philosophy.

They need to lead by example and reassure people there is no need to panic. Otherwise industry will crash and education will suffer. We've already got our hands full with Brexit.

Well said, but I would add: I paid little attention to the couple early on, aside from seeing a few glowing headlines and flattering photos. It seemed that they were the BRF "it" couple -lot's of photos of the laughing and smiling couple; her sitting with the queen; headlines about being invited to Sandringham for the family Christmas, which set a precedent, etc. Lot's of precedents.

What made me sit up and pay attention was the coat at Eugenie's wedding, as well as reports that their "expecting" status became a topic at that wedding. Even in my small and insignificant life, I would recognize that announcing my pregnancy right before a family wedding would result in taking attention away from the "once in a lifetime" event, where people overhear the obligatory "congratulations" that the family would give. I just wouldn't do it. Surely, this is a basic consideration that would be evident to a family who lives in the limelight, wherein events and announcements are carefully planned so as to not do just that.

Then: The coat! Two top buttons closed, but not the ones over her abdomen, obviously a signal that she's pregnant. That was the point when I started paying more attention, and it all went south for me. I find them both unpleasant, but the poor, "surviving-only" duchess really beyond the pale.

The royal family knows how to manipulate the media better than most and some say Princess Diana was the best of them all. I have a strong feeling that their freedom was bought and paid for via lurid headlines and negative PR. Her open coat may have rained a bit on the bride's day but it also fdrew media attention away from the bride's indiscreet parents.

All the while we saw negative headlines about them, another member of the royal family was at risk of seriously unfavourable press, that never got any traction. Each time Prince Andrew made the news, so did these two, for something much less relevant. News of Prince William's infidelity was gaining ground and suddenly we had Megxit.

The trip to BC before Chrismas seemed planned and so did their exit, considering their calendars were relatively open in the days after the balance of their maternity leave.

It's my understanding that there is a review in a year, which gives the royal family a year to get past 2 divorces, one possible affair, somebody to come forward and clear Prince Andrew's name and if they don't like their newfound freedom, they can go back to business as usual.

The royal family still controls the media and I suspect that they'll be moving back to the UK for 'security reasons' soon enough and they'll gradually go back to being royals. That reported lunch with the queen suggests there's more to the story than the public will ever know and the actress will have played her part well.

Kate looks wonderful. Her hairstyle is so flattering especially with a little layering around her face. Very elegant.

It looks like they are having a great time in Ireland.
