Except it is a Kia Optima, not a Porsche...

Isn't the Kia behind the Porsche?

Anyone else thinking about how I don't think we saw a single pap photo of them walking their dogs during the 2 years they were living in the UK but we've seen one of Meghan in Vancouver and now one in LA, the two places they went to supposedly escape press intrusion.

I think there will be much more intrusion to come, there is no entente cordial between the US press and the RF unlike in the UK. I think little Archie's childhood will be much more intruded on than Harry's ever was

Definitely more intrusion to come. Which is why everyone laughed at them when they said they were trying to get away from the media in the UK.

A high profile member of the royal family couldnt just go and walk their dog here. Every outing would have to be meticulously planned with maximum security. They dont have "normal" freedom. That's the point I think, they probably felt suffocated. Cant just pop out for this or that, in your jeans.

This lockdown gives us a taste of how that feels.

I think that was the whole point of them living on a royal property, that they were able to go out and walk their dog without it being a meticulously planned outing without max security. Do you remember the letter that was circulated to Windsor residents that may or may not have been approved by H&M saying not to say hello or ask to pet their dog when they were out walking him? Also there are sometimes photos of KM out in the park with her children on instagram but never pap photos because of the agreement that they have Kate Middleton Blog on Instagram: “Kate had a little Valentine date with Louis! The Duchess was pictured enjoying a stroll with her youngest in the park today by a couple who…”

Imagine how claustrophobic that must feel permanently.

The game changed IMO for royal security in the UK when Mountbatten was killed many years ago. I was v young at the time but remember the shock waves.

When I lived in Spain I always admired their royals' approach which back then, despite ETA being active, was pretty much try and crack on.

V tricky for royals, the whole security issue.

The Queen cancels annual birthday traditions for the first time in 68 years amid COVID-19

The Queen has cancelled her annual birthday celebrations for the first time since she began her reign 68 years ago in wake of COVID-19. Her Majesty will turn 94 on Tuesday, and instead of the usual gun salutes and "special measures" to honour the monarch, she will instead celebrate privately. "We will not be marking Her Majesty's birthday in any special way," a palace source said. "Any calls, video calls etc with family will be private and kept so. There will be no social media posts as per normal."

The palace source added: "There will be no gun salutes – Her Majesty was keen that no special measures were put in place to allow gun salutes as she did not feel it appropriate in the current circumstances. We believe that this may be the first time in Her reign."

According to palace insiders, DCMS (Department for Digital, Culture Media & Sport) has also written to government buildings giving the standard advice on flag flying protocol but included the following in their instructions: "In the current circumstances we are not expecting everyone to be able to follow this advice and you should continue to adhere to social distancing guidelines as set out by the government." There are designated days for flying the British flag on government buildings – the Queen's birthday is one of them.

The Queen also enjoys a second, more public, birthday with the rest of the royal family at Trooping the Colour in June. However, as previously announced, this has been cancelled due to the ongoing pandemic. Official celebrations to mark the sovereign's birthday have often been held on another day, particularly when the royal's birth date is not in the summer. As it stands now though, "there are no plans currently for any alternative marking of her official birthday".

Let’s just hope the Queen gets to celebrate her birthdays as usual in 2021.

Joe Wicks asks Kate Middleton and Prince William to join his live P.E. class next week

Joe Wicks has a royal dream and is asking his fans and friends to help him achieve it - to get the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge to join his live YouTube fitness class next week.

Taking to Instagram on Friday, Joe, who has been helping the nation stay fit during the coronavirus lockdown with his fitness classes every morning at 9am, wrote: "Prince William and Kate, now that would be an absolute honor if they joined us with #pewithjoe on Monday. Do you think they would do #fancydressfriday too? Comment below and tag @kensingtonroyal if you think they should get involved on Monday."

The caption was posted next to a video of the couple speaking to BBC News on Friday morning. In it, Prince William and Kate tell the presenter what their excercise regime has been like whilst self-isolating in the Norfolk home, with the dad-of-three explaining: "We've been for the odd walk, the odd bike ride as well. So we keep the children busy and active and healthy."

He then added: "We haven't quite done the Joe Wicks workout that everyone else seems to be doing although we are not far off. That might happen at some point."

Yes, but MM knew what she signed on for. She's a (very) grown woman, who knew much about royal life -she was evidently interested in it for quite some time. Even if she weren't, she would have been told (and has admitted that she was) and could easily access the information that royal life is very different and incredibly structured. I've read many instances where Harry told her that things would change and she couldn't casually talk to the press, etc., etc., etc.

This is what gripes so many people. Now, however, as she also knows full well, their every move will be tracked and photographed to the world, but the difference is that she will have a significantly greater ability to "manage" and counter press. MM, IMO, LOVES the press. She just loves positive press.

People keep saying Meghan “signed on” for something but I never saw the lifetime employment agreement she actually signed. Could someone please post that for me? When I got married all I agreed to was to love my husband for life. When I watched Prince Harry’s wedding that’s all they seemed to agree to also.

But I missed this slavery contract everyone else seems to have seen where they agreed to stay in the UK and shake hands for life. So please post a link, thanks!
