Aw, I have always been of the opinion that what you say about somebody else says more about you than what you are saying about the other person.

If I was pregnant, and somebody said that about me, I would truly laugh out loud and thank her for her comment, and have an opinion about the person that said that about me versus thinking I am fat. But she is not like me, and knew it was from an elderly person and took it in stride....

Delightful article from local news anchor, Sandra Ali, WDIV, Channel 4, Detroit.

Sandra Ali: Things you should never say to a pregnant woman, ever!

Next time you see a mom-to-be, remember to be kind

DETROIT - Last night, I was scrolling through my old belly pictures on my phone. My little one was snuggled up next to me on the couch.

She asked, “Mama, wait a minute, go back, go back, what is that?”

I said, "That is me from two years ago, just before the babies were born." She started laughing. “That is the biggest stomach I have ever seen,” she said.

That did not surprise me one bit, even coming from my own child, who by the way, I carried in that same "big stomach."

Looking back now, I should have kept a diary of all the things people said to me while I was pregnant...

The passenger of a car which crashed into Prince Philip's Land Rover has claims it took her two hours to get to hospital while the duke left the scene 'in minutes'.

Emma Fairweather broke her wrist when a Kia driven by friend Ellie Townsend crashed into the Duke of Edinburgh's Freelander on Thursday.

Prince Philip 'left scene of crash in minutes while I was left on roadside'

Another article about this Lady. People are starting to get irritated by her going by the comments in Daily Mirror and Daily Mail. I just hope we don’t have another Samantha seeking press attention situation. She says the police have asked her to remain quiet about the accident whilst they conduct their investigation ten times so why isn’t she? I do have sympathy for her but I don’t think I would be going to the press and doing a badly received This Morning interview today if I was in her position. Also the driver of the car doesn’t appear to be on speaking terms with her now given the Lady’s husband emailed her insurance details in a curt manner.

Are we sure this Emma isn't Samantha Markle in disguise? Half expecting someone to peel her mask off, Scooby Doo style....

Maybe the royals should take advice from commoners on this issue of a 97 year old still driving - we are expected to end the driving careers of our parents because we are the intimate persons best able to judge their decline in abilities. It is not easy to tell Mom or Dad "that's it, no more driving," but it is a responsibility. I see this as just another failure of Prince Charles, that at his late age he is not mature enough to tell his father to stop driving. And! These people are the extreme in wealth and protection with drivers and cars on call 24/7! Prince Philip has no reason to drive himself at all other than selfishness, stubborness, and senility. Man up, Prince Charles, tell your Daddy, "No, No."

WOW!
Prince Charles, like any other son on the planet, can't tell his father what to do. Some seniors are stubborn and will die before they heed sound advice.
Charles is a man. He likely doesn't care to deal with his father's drama and prefers to lead his life peacefully.

Just more of the same from the D*** of Edinburgh. Sorry to be pithy, but he's a menace to society. I can understand Emma Fairweather's POV. "Royalty" deserves to be treated like anyone else in these situations. Entitlement is not an attractive look. I'd be kicking up a giant fuss myself if treated so poorly.

I am binge watching "The Crown" right now, so I may be a bit testy. ;) Fantastic show, by the way. Highly recommend.

97 years old and still not acting like a grown up, but rather like a spoilt entitled bratty teenager.

It's crap like this that makes me not like the royal family.

Maybe he should be diagnosed with "Affluenza" like that stupid, entitled kid in Texas (Ethan Couch) back a few years.

We had a situation a bit like the Duke in my own family a few years back. We had a very elderly, starting to fade family member who insisted upon driving against everyone's wishes. Took a pretty serious smash to make them see the truth-- that they were not safe on the roads any longer. It's painful, but it happens to many folks. No shame. You'd expect the Duke to sit back and enjoy being ferried about by drivers.

Gods help everyone if he is still insisting of hunting too. That likely won't end well. He'll pull a Cheney and shoot another person. ;)

I'm following a thread on Mumsnet and the tide might be about to turn on Emma. A member there has quite a damning story about her and allegedly has spoken to the press about it. We shall see.

IMO, Prince Phillip for most of his married life has had to learn
and probably begrudgingly accept being second tier to Queen
E. She has always been "the star" and some men have a hard time
accepting this. He reminds me of a young man exhibiting ODD,
Oppositional Defiance Disorder. He stubbornly defies the logical
suggestion that he may not be safe on the roads anymore.
What a selfish thinking man. Ick.

This is turning into a "he said, she said", so it won't surprise me if initial reports turn out to be inaccurate. The Duke claims he was blinded by glaring sunlight, while the "victim" says it was overcast. Someone isn't telling the truth, so we'll have to wait for the official report on the accident. Stay tuned...

Watching world news last night it was showing pictures of Prince Phillip driving after the accident.
He is looking right at the camera and what I see is an angry old man basically saying YOU ARE NOT GOING TO TELL ME WHAT TO DO! Just the fact that he got right back into the saddle so to speak says volumes.

I also think that is why the Queen was seen driving what the next day with no seatbelt? If I am not mistaken does she not usually have a driver which is what I usually see?
Sorry I love independence but there comes a time where it is time to hang it up for both of them.
I also remember reading that the Queen no longer rides her horses alone but always has someone with her, amazing that she still takes a toodle every now and then but it is not like getting on a public road with a vehicle can become a killing machine and take other people out with you.
Reflexes, eyesight, medical conditions all come into play.
I am starting to see this as two spoiled children.

I’ve been in overcast situations when the sun suddenly breaks through and it’s quite blinding because of the reflection off the low clouds. So I think both can be right, depending on which way they are driving.

That being said, he shouldn’t have pulled out if he couldn’t see. Period. And even if he was a perfectly capable driver before this accident (and I know some in their 90’s who are quite capable), this is his signal to stop.

Prince Philip Faces Backlash For No Seatbelt After Crash

The Royal is spotted driving around without his safety belt and is being called "insensitive" for not apologizing to the victim of his accident. "Live From E!" digs in!

I don't know what Royal protocol is when one of them hurts a non- Royal in an accident in which the RF was at fault, legally, but his attorneys may have cautioned him not to apologize.

In the U.S., there have been many situations where someone has tried to apologize, and the courts interpreted the apology as an admission of guilt and it made a likely small situation worse.

For instance, medical professionals are now being taught to NEVER apologize because of the implied guilt, thus liability.

I'd hope to see this family, who are held to such high standards in their country and commonwealth nations , as well as the common man who accidentally hurt or did something wrong act in the way they'd want to be treated.

Regardless of status, our common humanity should rise above the level of fear of a lawsuit, and goodwill and whatever reparations are .appropriate for the situation should be extended genuinely, IMO.

Regarding Prince Phillip's stubbornness: While I think he's always been a stubborn strong stoic type of man, I've never read of him being mean to the public, who apparently liked his appearances for so many years with Queen Elizabeth.
Maybe Prince Phillip has had some mental status changes since his retirement from public life?

I do not judge him harshly for either the accident or for continuing to drive, because with an extremely aged person, their " normal" thought processes and brain function at 97 is not what their " normal" was at age 67 or prior. All is JMO, of course.

"As of this minute I don't know which of our old original cast will be back and which won't because we're so early in the season," he said. "I can tell you that those things in the papers, I have no idea what they're talking about."

Korsh said there was no truth to British tabloid reports he's made a massive donation to lure the duchess back.

"I have not arranged for millions of dollars to be donated to anything on behalf of anyone so that I can tell you,"
