Goodness, you and gregjrichards both take care, then.
I hope the fires stop and your weather pattern stabilizes. Sounds a great bit like California's droughts to floods with fires.

Don’t worry about us here, even our rabbits are big’n’tough.

Thank you for this thread as I am learning so much.

Queen and Queen Mother kept British hope alive in World War Two and Hitler hated them

The Queen Mother and the young Princess Elizabeth were shining examples of stoicism and defiance throughout the Second World War.
As the dark shadow of Nazism swept across Europe, two women kept the flame of hope alive in the hearts of the British people.

The Queen Mother and the young Princess Elizabeth were shining examples of stoicism and defiance throughout the Second World War.
And Adolf Hitler despised them.

The German Führer called the Queen Mother “the most dangerous woman in Europe”, fully aware of her steely determination to stay in Buckingham Palace through the Blitz, defying his bombs.

When the palace was bombed in September 1940 she shrugged off the damage and said: “Well, it makes me feel I can look the East End in the face.”
Hitler described the Queen Mother as "the most dangerous woman in Europe"

I know I can’t sleep I feel terrible and I’m trying to get rid of a bad UTI infection I have had a few weeks.

That would be a terrible idea putting the car in a museum. It still angers me the French government have not put crash barriers up in the tunnel where Princess Diana died.

Hope you're feeling better @gregjrichards .

Has anyone seen our very own Queen @Lilibet around this little virtual palace of ours? Not noticed her posting for a couple of weeks.

Northwest of Sydney the foot of the beautiful blue mountains.

We are experiencing droughts, floods and bushfires at the moment.

I’ve been to the Blue Mountains, rocked up in a camper van for a couple of days exploring while we were in Sydney. Stunning part of the world, you lucky thing!!

Prince Philip will face no further legal action over his Land Rover crash near Sandringham last month, prosecutors have confirmed today.

The Duke of Edinburgh, 97, voluntarily gave up his driving licence after his collision on the A149 that left two women in hospital on January 17.

But today the Chief Crown Prosecutor for the area has confirmed he will not be pursued by police as a prosecution is 'not in the public interest'.

In response, a Buckingham Palace statement said the Duke 'respects' the decision.

CPS bosses say the decision was based on his age and choice to surrender his licence.

So, in other words, if he was not who he is, he'd be charged. Disgusting IMO.

Scrutiny, family woes pile pressure on pregnant Meghan

London – When Meghan Markle became engaged to Prince Harry, the American TV star seemed to charm everyone she met. She and Harry toured Britain to adoring crowds, and she pledged to hit the ground running once she officially joined the royal circle.

Britain’s rambunctious, royal-obsessed press praised her as something different, a fresh take on an old “firm” in need of a bit of dazzle.

Nine months after her wedding extravaganza and now formally known as the Duchess of Sussex, the 37-year-old is pregnant – and finding that life in the royal fishbowl carries not just glamour and great charitable opportunities but liabilities as well...

So if she is 7 months pregnant now I am going with a birth date of April 15 and I think it will be a boy.

I'm leaving the window wide open: Sometime between March 15 and April 15 :D No guesses on gender.

I went with April 15 because every year I get a surprise from higher powers on that day....a new cat or kitten has showed up at my house on that day for the past six years. So it's a perfectly magical day for a new royal baby to come into the world!

Well, yes, I understand the appropriate dress for the type of event, but that's not what I was asking, really.

I keep reading these almost slur remarks about " The Queen won't allow that to be worn" or " The Queen will give her or him an earful if they wear ( that garment) to (this event)" or " How did the Queen approve ?"

I read this every single day. And it's people in the UK making the comments.
So, what I'm actually and sincerely asking is: Where did this idea of " Speaking as the Queen" come from? Is it supposed to be a joke or a slur? It seems strange to me, but maybe because my mother did approve all my clothing until I was in college.

I know some of the things she does expect or request that Prince Charles and his sons and wives to do in respect to her, and none of them involve their clothing choices, LOL..
Birth announcement is phoned by the father to her first, then paper version posted on the palace gate or near it, the respect of informing her of the names they've thought of for their new arrival, and maybe an understanding that her children and spouses are or will become members of the Church Of England, since she's the head of it.

Britain has similar rules to the USA's about what gifts can be accepted by a person representing the country, and which have to be returned or declined due to a high valuation. I love to see the archival photos of what had to be sent back, LOL.

Sounds like we both agree that the Queen isn't a wardrobe inspector for her family. :)

On Her Majesty's Secret Service: The Queen unveils plaque with a hidden message to mark GCHQ's centenary (and then exchanges coded tweets with spies - so can you crack them?)

The Queen looks radiant in royal blue as she unveils plaque in London | Daily Mail Online
This color is wonderful. The Queen looks lovely. I like how she included a touch of black in her brooch.

The double breasted look is good on her and the hand tailoring is evident in the nicely fitted princess seams, the bound buttonholes and the placket pockets.

Bravo.
