I thought I typed it above but I seem to have deleted it. Sorry if I'm repeating myself.

I think the Duchess looks around 7 months, and I'd say about 8 or 9 weeks from giving birth....assuming it's not twins! So I'll say about March 20th.

“Meghan was visiting the animal welfare charity Mayhew in London when she was introduced to an elderly lady called Peggy, who gets visits from their Therapaws therapy dogs at the care home where she lives.

Peggy and Meghan shared a lovely moment talking to each other with Peggy saying: "Lovely lady, you are, may the good Lord always bless you."

Smiling and looking at her baby bump, she added: "And you're a fat lady."

Meghan took it as a compliment - laughing and saying: "I'll take it."

Pregnant Meghan called a 'fat lady' during visit to animal charity

It doesn’t help when members of the public are calling you a “fat lady”. I would have been mortified if I had heard the Duchess being called that.

Aw, I have always been of the opinion that what you say about somebody else says more about you than what you are saying about the other person.

If I was pregnant, and somebody said that about me, I would truly laugh out loud and thank her for her comment, and have an opinion about the person that said that about me versus thinking I am fat. But she is not like me, and knew it was from an elderly person and took it in stride.

ETA, oh my gosh I came into the thread when something else had happened and this seems so trivial. Back to Prince Philip

For the Brits here: Regarding the article posted today about " We eat like everyone else"--- Is all dessert called " Pudding"? Because Sticky Toffee Pudding looks like a cake to me.
"Sticky Toffee Pudding" played a major part in an episode of my favorite TV show , " Frasier" and I thought it WAS what we call pudding, which, if you don't have it, is like blended up Jell-o, but thicker with milk.

When it says the Queen likes brown eggs, do they mean raw brown eggs or is it a dish? I mean, I loved " All Creatures Great and Small" and there were some unusual breakfast dishes LOL.

I know William and Kate are trying to be very relaxed and relevant to the average person in the article, but in addition to the food someone picks up for them, i just KNOW they have a personal chef and that Kate likely watches her weight extremely carefully along with her exercise time. She wears fitted dresses she wore 5 years ago or more and has had 3 children. WHO can do that? I had one and could, but 3? I don't think so.

There are rumors that Meghan has some bump padding. IDK what I think about that. If they are using a surrogate, then that's definitely their business. I likely would do things the exact same way if it's not her own expansion..
This could be why we can't pin a date down going by her size- not being rude, just going by what US celebs are doing, which is- the same thing with surrogates or gestational carriers. Meghan's age may definitely be a factor or this may be her growing baby. I just hope they end up with a sweet happy baby, however it gets to them.

I'm busily hammering the gold for the due date crown. :)
It's slow going since I'm having to pull it out of my teeth.

Laughing out loud that they are using a surrogate! Too funny!

As to the padding, many people do that so that the belly button doesn't show sticking out when they are wearing thin clothing. So someone using support padding undergarments are accused of wearing under padding/bump padding. Sure they are!

For the love of Mike, what is " spotted dick"? Are you making this up? Please don't get me in trouble here.
PS- I'm dieting and thoughts of food are paramount.
I think I'm going to learn to make sticky toffee pudding if it's good. Is it?

What's everyone's favorite British traditional dessert?
I keep wondering if your fruitcake is like ours, too.

Daphne Moon was my favorite character on " Frasier".
I loved that British show about Hyacinth Bucket but they took it off all our pay to view services and started up some " purely British" ones which all show the same things. Very expensive, too, IMO.

Jane Leeves, (Daphne character) now has a two-year contract for the television show " the resident" in the United States. Her character recently appeared this year.

Time to taie the keys off the old geezer. Don't care who he is, he's a hazard.

I agree and have known of people that really needed to have just that happen. Reflexes are not there, eyesight, weather etc. It all comes down to giving up their independence which is a hard thing to do and understandable.

But you also need to think of the other people on the road, families with children etc. He is 97 pushing 100. The time has come.
For all we know he might have already had many close calls that did not result in an accident which he has been lucky.

If he wants to drive that bad he can stay on the grounds.

Actually I was very surprised as I thought he had a driver.

If the Prince likes to drive, I bet there are plenty of areas on their private property that he can drive on.

Hopefully he will just stick to carriage driving on the estate now.

Or possibly not.

Phillip has had another accident where people were hurt, about 23 years ago.
There are no doubt, many other 'close calls' or minor bumps that have not been reported. Anything that happens on the estate doesnt have to be reported, I think.

He could be hitting a tree a week, for all we know.....how many other 97 yr olds are still driving?? Seriously

“Spotted dick is a British pudding, traditionally made with suet and dried fruit and often served with custard. However it is now most commonly made without suet, rather other fats and egg, more similar to a sponge cake.Wikipedia

Bread and butter pudding is my favourite dessert. I like sticky toffee pudding too but sometimes it can be too sweet.

When I travel to the Toronto area, there are often shops full of British foods. Where I first learned of Spotted Dick. I'm going to try some the next time I'm up there. I love the idea of a full English Breakfast (when I'm not on a diet :)), would love to try it.

That’s a good idea I’m sure you will enjoy it. A full English is nice too I have that as my weekly treat I go to a nice cafe every Sunday morning. It isn’t too bad health wise when it is grilled instead of fried.

P.s I love Toronto I went there for my 21st Birthday and have fond memories.

Interesting information, thanks. I wasn't aware of that. It would explain some unusual photos lately.

Article and video at link:

Man who helped Prince Philip after car wreck describes ‘astonishing escape’

The 97-year-old husband of Queen Elizabeth escaped without injuries after the car he was driving collided with another vehicle.

The good Samaritan who rushed to help pull the 97-year-old Prince Philip from "a horrendous accident" after the royal's SUV flipped over on a countryside road said he found it incredible everyone survived without major injuries.

"It was an astonishing escape for everyone,” motorist Roy Warne told television crews after he helped the husband of Queen Elizabeth out of the Land Rover he was driving Thursday on a road near Sandringham Estate, the monarch’s countryside estate...

Is anyone else made uneasy by the passerby pulling Prince Philip out through the sunroof when he was complaining about his legs? It always makes me uncomfortable when an accident victim is moved. (Unless CPR is needed or the vehicle is smoking).

I think him driving around their own property is a good solution.

Great customer service! JK. Hope he and the others are feeling ok today.

Meanwhile, the local government is lowering the speed limit on that stretch of the highway, something they were planning to do before the accident. Seems like they've had a lot of crashes along there.

For once, I don't disagree with the DM.

But I don't understand how they can focus on the wrinkled fabrics and in the same photos ignore the poor fit and lack of tailoring of her clothes.

Just one hideous example!

Whatever the issues with her clothes, these are the things a professional stylist would catch before the client wore the outfit in public.
