Princess Ann didn't request royal titles for her children and they all seem to be ok with it. They're all doing very well, in fact.

If PH wants it, I'm sure the Queen will give the baby an appropriate royal title. Lady or Viscount would be nice.

Titles usually come from the father. In Princess Margaret's case her husband was given the title of Earl Snowdon, and an additional title of Viscount Linley. When their first son, David, was born, he was given the Viscount Linley title. Now the first Earl Snowdon is dead, David is Earl Snowdon and his eldest son is Viscount Linley.

In Prince Edward's case, he's not only a prince but also has an earldom, so his eldest son got that earldom.

In Princess Anne's case, her first husband didn't take a title....so there would have been no title for her son/daughter to inherit.

Prince Harry has an earldom, which is has been suggested is the most likely title to be given to his eldest son. And just like the daughters in the cases of Princess Margaret and Prince Edward, a daughter would be styled as a 'Lady'.

The Queen intervened to make Prince William's younger children prince/princess, and that seems fair as it would have been weird for the children to have the eldest a prince and the other two earl and lady, plus when they're older they'll be the three children of the King and would surely all be elevated to prince and princess at that time?

So I think the question might be whether Harry's children would be elevated to prince/princess when Charles takes the throne, in which case it wouldn't be so much of an intervention to give Baby Sussex that title early, as with Charlotte and Louis. But if they'd never become prince/princess then the Queen might not see any 'raising' of the titles as being appropriate and then the most likely is that a son of Harry would become an earl, and a daughter styled as lady.

The Express claims that Frimley Park (where Sophie had her children) has been put on standby in case of Meghan being taken in there during labour/after the birth

NHS Frimley Park Hospital in Surrey - which is 30 minutes from the Duke and Duchess of Sussex’s Frogmore Cottage - is reportedly on standby. And excited mother-to-be Meghan is said to be planning to “stay at home for as long as possible” once she goes in to labour, but will be transferred to hospital immediately in the event of complications.

...

This is what I've always been lead to believe,
The Monarchs children & the heir* to the thrones children were traditionally given the Prince/ss titles

Ultimately I guess it's whatever the Queens wishes (I think?) She's the Boss lol

ABC TV News reporting this morning that BP will report when
MM goes into labor and will followup after giving birth.
They don't anticipate there being any initial baby pics as announced
earlier since MM wants to maintain their privacy while her family bonds
w/ the new baby.

8 years!! Lots of parks and open spaces in the UK had big screen TVs set up for the wedding. I sat on the grass with my friends and all our kids having a proper English picnic and getting tipsy on Pimms. Loved it!

The Mirror says some fans think that a police escort with cars going through Chiswick earlier might have been Meghan going to hospital. I checked Google maps and that would be the route from Frogmore to the Lindo Wing.

But, as it says in the article, it might have been a politician or other dignitary with the police escort, there's no guarantee that it was Meghan.

Meghan's fans convinced she's in labour after spotting 'police escort'

IIRC, they've had this "baby watch" coverage before, sometimes lasting several days. Pretty sure they did this with Prince George and it lasted a while. I recall similar news coverage when both PW and PH were born, especially PW. Back then the PR was handled by the BRF communications staff. Not sure who is managing PR now, it seems to go back and forth.

The most recent messaging about the pending birth from Harry's PR team has been kind of confusing and vague, especially the message that the birth may not be announced until several days after the baby has been born. That's why I was surprised to see the Today Show beginning their "baby watch". Due to the vague and conflicting info about the due date, they must be taking a chance and starting now to see what happens. Even today, the information they're reporting is a bit odd, vague.

Like the Express, the Evening Standard has started a live updates page for the upcoming birth of baby Sussex

Right now it's just things like the current odds on baby names, saying that Doria is there with Meghan...nothing major yet.

Harry and Meghan prepare for arrival of their baby

By announcing their desire for secrecy. Megan has ensured massive coverage.

It would seem more risky with the paparazzi trying to capture them leaving in an ambulance. She was front and center during the whole pregnancy, even announcing at Princes Eugenie's wedding.

The whole baby shower coverage, and now they go into hiding.

Stated on GMA this a.m. that announcement will be made when in labour and again at the birth. Hope that's the way it goes.

The official announcement that they would keep things private and make an announcement after the family has had some private time together didn't say anything about announcing the labour. So I'm not sure if they will announce the labour or if the first official announcement will be after baby is born.
