I'm sorry, what? They're FLYING from Buckingham Palace to Westminster Abbey?

It would literally be quicker to walk - it's 0.7 miles

I didn’t know Buckingham Palace had a helipad I have just looked it up and it has a disguised one. They can’t take any chances with terrorism etc.

I wish the Queen didn't have to meet him.

Aw, she’ll be fine. She’s a tough cookie and always does what’s best for England. Meeting heads of state, presidents etc, is diplomacy, good for relations. She’s met him once before (can’t remember when now) she was at Windsor or Balmoral at the time?

And this is not political people! I promise! Lol
Just what we all know about Trumps personality
I just hope he packed his brain filter, think before you speak today. Just say thank you for having us and go eat some food Trump (JMO haha)

I love the 15 minute meeting with Prince Charles, on the schedule. Lol
Like, to me? “But mommmy! Do I have to?!? Fine! Just 15 minutes was I am walking to my garden then!” :p
Just knowing what I know about those 2 men and especially their views on the environment; opposite sides spectrum lol

Wow FLOTUS looks stunning.

I reckon you've got a bit of a crush on her, G! :p Nice to see her smiling more, she often looks solemn.

Glad the sun is shining, London looks lovely.

It was at Windsor Castle when Her Majesty first met him.

The Queen had to meet Margaret Thatcher who she allegedly hated once a week so she can handle meeting anybody.

She does. I can give her that, she really does have a great fashion sense (to me) Beautiful today!

I loved the dress she wore yesterday too

ETA oh I just zoomed in! Thought the accent color was black, but it’s navy. Even more stunning. I love navy and crisp white together.

Melania's My Fair Lady moment! Elegant Mrs Trump channels Audrey Hepburn in a white and navy ensemble as she arrives at Buckingham Palace

The Daily Mail has lost the plot they are comparing FLOTUS’s outfit with Audrey Hepburn’s in My Fair Lady.

Queen to inspect every detail of Trump's state banquet

Around 170 guests expected at dinner

(CNN) - When America's first couple sit down to the lavish state banquet in Buckingham Palace on Monday evening, they will be treated to an exquisite menu that was six months in the planning and a table that took royal staff three days to set.

Around 170 guests are expected at the dinner personally overseen by Queen Elizabeth II, in what will be a highlight of U.S. President Donald Trump's first state visit to Great Britain...

I wonder why Mel has a tummy. I have seen that in many pics. I would think that would be a surgery she would go for.

Kate has had three children and she is in superb tummy form

Age

Sometimes I think no matter how tight, with age you just get that (to me anyway)

6 months planning? Was this planned that long ago? I thought it was just announced in April??
(Confused)

<modsnip: quoted post was removed>

I didn't know he had trouble walking. Nevertheless, a quick car journey has to be cheaper / greener / safer than flying, but I guess it's not as impressive!

THE GIFTS

The Queen's official gifts to Mr Trump were a first edition of The Second World War by Winston S Churchill from 1959. The crimson book features gold tooled decoration on the cover, spine and inner cover, an EIIR cypher in gold on the front, silk endpapers and hand-sewn headbands in colours of the US flag with all pages edged in gilt.

The monarch also gave Mr Trump a three-piece Duofold pen set - a fountain pen, rollerball pen and ball point pen with EIIR cypher - using the obsidian design, exclusively made for the Queen.

Mrs Trump was presented with a specially commissioned silver box with a handcrafted enamel lid. Its royal blue decoration featured roses, thistles and shamrocks to represent the ceiling of the palace music room.

Yes. But I have seen French women who have multiple children that have a perfect shape.

I wonder why she does not get a tummy tuck. I would if I had a spare few thousand dollars

But if it’s the muscles not much they can do? Or maybe she’s ok with it, which is admirable if you think about it

And French women, they are just lucky ducks lol

Time for afternoon tea with Charles! President Trump and Melania are welcomed to Clarence House after spectacular reception at Buckingham Palace including a 21-gun salute and lunch with the Queen

Trump UK state visit: US President and First Lady Melania receive gun salute | Daily Mail Online

There is a debate on social media regarding whether the President fist bumped Her Majesty.

Hopefully Buckingham Palace will learn from Tokyo and not serve him alcohol at the state banquet tonight.

Will the Mayor of London be at the banquet?
