I don't think this is captured well in video? The Red Arrows fly over Portsmouth to commemorate the 75th anniversary of the D-Day landings in Normandy
They're AWESOME!!I love the Red Arrows. I was at a festival a few years ago and they did a transit fly past in formation, it was amazing! A tannoy came out saying "look up to the sky" and we were so confused, and then this almighty roar and they were gone in seconds...You can actually request a flypast for public events and if they're in your region they might just say yes!

Trivia fact - the Queen is the only female member of the royal family to have served in the armed forces.
*I was sitting out on a balcony at a hotel* in Montreal when The Snowbirds were doing flyovers. Total surprise. And wow, what a show!
She is only a serving officer on paper, she has never actually served, although like her mother she would be definitely capable of it if the country was at war. She's a tough cookie Princess Anne.![]()

Colonel of the Regiment

"Princess Anne rides horseback during Trooping the Colour, as opposed to arriving in a carriage like some of the other members of her family, is because she's a royal colonel, and more specifically she is a colonel of the Household Division, the Queen's guards who are on display at Trooping the Colour"
Ceremonial title I know but she is officially a serving member of the regiment.
A Colonel of the Regiment is expected to work closely with a regiment and its regimental association.
The chief purpose of a colonel-in-chief is to maintain a direct link between a given regiment and the British Royal Family.

The One Request Prince Harry Makes at Every Hotel He Stays In
Prince Harry is a rather low-key royal when it comes to travel.
For those unable to watch the video, environmentalist Harry wishes hotels would stop using plastic.

We can wish! So often a product that serves a useful purpose in certain settings becomes unnecessarily ubiquitous. There are so many products that are “protected” in plastic (and practically impossible to open, I might add). At least our town has banned the use of plastic bags at grocery stores and such, as well as styrofoam containers. But it doesn’t make a dent.

...I totally agree about items so encased in plastic you need the jaws of life to open them!!
I’m thinking really, why do simple items need to be packaged this way...
