The frontrunners for names (per the bookies)

Arthur - does Harry still get on with royal photographer Arthur Edwards?
Philip - I like this name, due a comeback
Albert - well, he can't be Prince Albert!
James - Prince Edwards's son
Alexander - love this too, but Alex Sussex sounds odd, Xander might be better
Alfred - yuck!

Would not be surprised to see Charles and/or Thomas in there.

Isn't John an American term for toilet?

I think they'll stay mainly traditional, with a nod to other family members and perhaps a random thrown in. But if I had to choose, I'd go with Philip Charles Thomas, and I think three names is enough!

Omg I hadn't considered Prince Albert LOL....giggles like a schoolgirl

How does he have the right to become POTUS when he was born outside the US? I thought the whole point behind the birther stuff was the notion that being born in Kenya would disqualify Obama from the Presidency.
McCain was born in Mexico, though maybe that was on US sovereign land there? But the rule is just a 'natural born citizen' so having citizenship at birth should suffice I believe.

He can't be Richard John Thomas either!

“The implication of being naturally-born citizen of the United States means Baby Sussex could one day run for office as US President.

However the US constitution states that any runner for the job must also have lived in the US for at least 14 years, as well as be over the age of 35.”

I don’t think there is any likelihood of this happening. I wouldn’t be surprised if The Duchess and the new baby give up their U.S citizenship solely because of the tax implications.

So what was all the birther stuff about then? Obama would have had US citizenship from birth too through his mother.

There were a lot of different reasons given but I think that was a claim that Obama would have got either Kenyan or British citizenship if he had been born in Kenya. I don't know how that would deny him the right to the presidency as he would still have had a US citizen mother, but...

I thought the whole premise of it was that you had to be born in US territory to be eligible. That would make sense too when you consider the era and the circumstances in which the USA came into being.

However if this child is eligible for the Presidency then Obama would have been too even if he'd been born on the Moon.

O.k. I confess...
I wasn't sure this was a name suggestion ;)
& had go google so for anyone else curious;

Baby names that it won't be:

1. Thomas Charles
2. Benedict Arnold

I am partial to Edward George Spencer

Spencer would be a good first name.

That whole thing is confusing. If you’re born in Britain to a British and an American they have to report it to America to have a dual citizenship and America isn't well known for dual citizenships. And I’m not sure the royal family would allow that considering Meghan is going to become a UK resident. If they were to split it would make a world full of He!! if the baby is dual citizen I would think.

NEW: Grandad Prince Charles has just spoke about the arrival of #BabySussex while in Berlin. “We couldn’t be more delighted at the news and we’re looking forward to meeting the baby when we return.”

Please not Alfie I will find myself singing “what’s it all about, Alfie?” like Cilla Black.

I did not realise this:

“Meghan and Harry's son is the first person ever with the right to become both the British monarch AND US President (but he might also face a US tax bill)”

Not sure about the president thing if she becomes a British citizen.

Markle announced that she would retire from acting,[59][60] and began the process of becoming a British citizen.

The Duchess in a nautical look for today's launch of the King's Cup, a regatta in August that will raise money and awareness for 8 of Kate and William's charities. (The engagement wasn't announced until this morning.)

The US used to make you pick between being US or another citizenship. That hasn’t been the case since the 80s. Both my children were born in Spain and have dual citizenship as do I and a bunch of people I know.

I’m dual citizen to UK. But, they wouldn’t allow my dad to get dual American so he had to pick. Idk.

I think the Queen will offer this baby a prince hood. If she does not, he becomes a prince as soon as Charles becomes king because Harry is the son of a King. Why not do it now and avoid the aggravation of changing names later?

Did he serve in the military? My brother did and he had to just keep US and forego the Spanish one because of it.
