The Duke of Sussex has travelled to the Netherlands just three days after the birth of his son Archie.

Bets are on for second baby for Meghan and Prince Harry
Archie Mountbatten-Windsor may only be three days old, but bookmakers are already predicting the Duke and Duchess of Sussex will add to their family within a year.

Broadcaster Danny Baker has been fired by BBC Radio 5 after he was accused of posting a racially insensitive tweet following the birth of the royal baby.

The 61-year-old sparked outrage by posting a black and white picture of a chimpanzee wearing a suit, which he captioned: "Royal baby leaves hospital."

Baker tweeted on Thursday morning: "Just got fired from @bbc5live. For the record it was red sauce. Always."

He had deleted the offending tweet on Wednesday and offered his "sincere apologies". He said did not consider the "possible connotations" of the post.

who is Dinah? Do you mean Diana?

Diana was descended from the 9th Earl of Argyll, Archibald Campbell and the babys name could well be a tribute to Harrys' mother.

My terrible mistake on misspelling Diana's name. I am so sorry! It was a horrible typing mistake on my part! Very sorry!

This royal thread has been so much fun!

The name Archie probably sounds way more elegant with British accent. I almost hear “our” in the first syllable. Arch is a nice image, as in the arc of light.

I have a friend whose name is Harrison and I’ve always thought it’s a great name. Could baby Archie use that name as he gets older?

On the other hand, another friend William has always been known as Billy. It’s very endearing on a grown man, imo.

I love the photo of the Queen and family meeting baby Archie. I think she knows how happy her grandson is, and to Meghan’s credit she was willing to go through the press gauntlet for him which to me would be completely overwhelming.

Meghan seems calm and steady and she’s a nice counterpart to Harry’s exuberance and charm.

Good on BBC5 for firing him. There is no way to deny that was a horribly disrespectful racist post.

Utterly racist.

I see Meghan as mature and able to handle Harry's inner issues that make him less mature and less accountable. Thank goodness for William and Catherine.

In regards to Mountbatten Windsor, I defer to Wikipedia:

The whole article is interesting reading!

Mountbatten-Windsor is the personal surname used by some of the male-line descendants of Queen Elizabeth II and Prince Philip, Duke of Edinburgh. Under a declaration made in Privy Council in 1960, the name Mountbatten-Windsor applies to male-line descendants of the Queen without royal styles and titles.[1] Individuals with royal styles do not usually use a surname, but some descendants of the Queen with royal styles have used Mountbatten-Windsor when a surname was required.
The British monarchy asserts that the name Mountbatten-Windsor is used by members of the Royal Family who do not have a surname, when a surname is required.[1] For example, Prince Andrew, Duke of York, and Anne, Princess Royal, children of the Queen, used the surname Mountbatten-Windsor in official marriage registry entries in 1986 and 1973 respectively.[2] Likewise, Prince William, Duke of Cambridge, used the name when filing a French lawsuit related to the pictures of his topless wife published by the French magazine Closer.[3]

Mountbatten-Windsor - Wikipedia

Thanks for the information Pi. At this stage I really never know what to believe unless it's on video and coming from the mouths of William and Harry. It was written that their last names were Windsor, so I didn't think it was tradition that they had the hyphenated name of Mountbatten-Windsor. It was also stated that first two children of Prince William had Windsor as a last name. Sigh.
Question, why would the children of the Queen who have titles such as Prince/Princess even need surnames in England. I would simply fill in the section as Prince Andrew, Duke of York; Anne, Princess Royal. There really should only be one of you in the nation. j/s

Thanks again Pi.

What a sweet tribute, and illustration! Winnie-The-Pooh is beloved from my childhood, for sure.

Poor sweet Archie. Just an innocent baby. Why are people so cruel?

I would expect her to be more mature for a multiple reasons. 1. She is older than Harry - those few years can make a big difference in your 30's. 2. She had it appears a sheltered childhood, but she went away to college and to me seemed more independent. She got to spread her wings and try things that Harry may not have been able to do (even though we have seen the Vegas pics). She supported herself by working. Harry grew up in the lap of luxury and really never had to really work like us average folks for a living. Meghan set goals and worked towards them (whether we like her goals or not). She was determined. I would expect her to be way more mature than him.
