Personally I don’t like that skirt at all. It’s georgette, which means it’s light and delicate-looking. Pairing it with a standard white cotton shirt looks like a color and fabric mismatch. It might be saved with a matching blue or black blouse. But overall, it’s a non- starter for me.

I wouldnt want to wear knife pleats unless I was rail-thin, as they are very unforgiving.

And this outfit looks sloppy to me. Couldnt her dresser look at what other women were wearing? This obviously isn’t an official royal function, but it’s close to it. What’s wrong with one of the lovely ( and forgiving) print dresses?
Or the sleeveless white dress she wore for Archie’s first photo? That looked much smarter than this outfit.

You mention her “dresser.” I don’t think she has one, but is doing her own thing, perhaps with some (poor) advice from her friend Jessica in Canada. I don’t know what Meghan sees when she looks in the mirror in this outfit, but it’s certainly not what we mere fashion amateurs see. The mismatched white and the mixed styles would jump right out at me.

I’m 73, 5’2 and “fluffy” and although it’s getting harder to cover my expanding middle, I make sure that my clothes don’t emphasize my “figure faults” and that the colors I wear are flattering and not all over the color wheel. Meghan has a much easier body to dress than I do and has no reason to stick to black and white or navy. Sigh.

Couldn't resist a quiz :D

This Inkblot Test Will Determine Your Personality

I am Optimistic!
The things that you saw in the test cards show that you have an optimistic personality, are outgoing, happy most of the time and have a healthy and strong mind. You like to play things by ear and have always been a carefree person. You’re all about achieving balance and living life to the fullest. You’re relaxed, take things as they come, and always aspire to live a life full of happiness. When you face a problem in life you tend to focus on the positive side of things, even if sometimes this might seem hard. You’re very courageous and active and easily dive into new challenges, rather than hide, avoid or run from them. Your capacity to adapt to new situations is high above the average which makes you an easy-going person always surrounded by lots of people and good friends. Good for you!

I think you are right. Perhaps she had a wardrobe consultant / dresser for the Sussex’s two big trips, and that’s where I got the idea from.

Didn’t I read that she didn’t have a nanny for Archie, and they seem to have some trouble with getting her an assistant?

If so, she could just be too busy to do the wardrobe/ shopping stuff herself, or she just doesn’t have a woman friend to take a second look at her outfits. That could explain the gaff with the jeans and bit white hat, and the mess of this outfit.

Markle looks sloppy here compared to the Middleton girls

I don't disagree, but I'm willing to cut her some slack due to her being a busy new mom who is reportedly very hands on, nursing in the wee hours, probably not getting a decent night's sleep, etc.

I really hope the Duchess of Sussex arrives at Wimbledon centre court like this just to wind up the Daily Mail online and its comment section.

Omg, I think she looks so pretty!!

Her hips have certainly widen considerably! since she had Archie.

I think it is great and that is fantastic for women to see..... Kate went back to freaking size 2 a month after having her 3rd! Hahaha ( not begrudging her it’s just her body type lol)

She looks like she is getting also, shall I dare say

A bootie! Go Meghan! My butt got more concave after each child

She is probably trying to get comfortable in her new body? (that is so hard for new moms when they are the type that their body just changes a lot)
And I love that skirt she’s wearing. Very very pretty.

My opinion, she hit that Tennis ball out of the park today

Just have to add that I know probably most of the universe disagrees with me hahaha, but I think she looked very pretty today

And I just had a thought about her at Wimbledon the other day. she had 2 personal friends with her and she was probably trying to protect their privacy with the “no picture thing” (if true) and it got misconstrued and twisted to how she’s a diva as the press always seems to do
just my opinion after looking at today’s pictures.

LOL, SideEye, that is the most dreadful outfit I've ever seen on Princess Diana. I'm trying to unsee it
As for Meghan, I wouldn't say "disrespectful", she simply doesn't wear flattering, proper fitting, outfits. I don't think she dresses like that out of disrespect for the family, more like ignorance.

But she looked great!

She certainly did look great! Just stunning.

And ahhhh, I understand what you mean now by that disrespectful comment. Understood ❤️

ETA: but not meaning in the orange catastrophe lol
I hope that got burned swiftly after that night lol

Exactly what I wanted to say !!! What does she see in the mirror ? Surely she has a friend somewhere who can be honest with her. Even the clothing designers should encourage her in the right direction. She's appearing in very expensive, designer clothing that clearly is not her best look. I can't figure it out.

If you notice the outfits MM is wearing in the article, they are well fitting and do look good on her. Something has changed.

Do you mean since the birth of Archie?

She was former skinny girl that had gained weight from pregnancy. And let’s be honest I mean she still not a “big” girl. But you can definitely see the weight she has gained in her middle .

That was me to exactly after my first baby and it was so hard to realize I couldn’t dress the way I used to dress and trying to figure out what I could wear that looked flattering. you don’t know because you’ve never been “there” before. It’s damn hard.
And we have no idea if she wants to hide her “gain” or just let it out to show the world

You know what it’s OK if you don’t go back to size 2 right away

And the plaids for me :D
His summertime is the lightest 100% cotton.

I think the first is not a good choice for a post-partum woman, gonna really draw attention to her midsection.

But I really like the other 3.

The 3rd one, the sleeveless navy/white more abstract print looks very much like something she would choose.

Personally, I really love the plaid shirtdresses. They do look cool and fresh for summer. She can't be that large that she wouldnt be able to wear one of those.

And another thing about the skirt she wore: It's 100% polyester. I thought she and Harry were being promoted as very eco-conscious in their $3million home renovation ( the explanation for that copper tub).

So why isn't she wearing natural fabrics, not those made from petroleum products, huh? There are many many really lovely organic cotton and linen pieces out there. She really never has to ever wear polyester again !
