Personally I don’t like that skirt at all. It’s georgette, which means it’s light and delicate-looking. Pairing it with a standard white cotton shirt looks like a color and fabric mismatch. It might be saved with a matching blue or black blouse. But overall, it’s a non- starter for me.
I wouldnt want to wear knife pleats unless I was rail-thin, as they are very unforgiving.
And this outfit looks sloppy to me. Couldnt her dresser look at what other women were wearing? This obviously isn’t an official royal function, but it’s close to it. What’s wrong with one of the lovely ( and forgiving) print dresses?
Or the sleeveless white dress she wore for Archie’s first photo? That looked much smarter than this outfit.
You mention her “dresser.” I don’t think she has one, but is doing her own thing, perhaps with some (poor) advice from her friend Jessica in Canada. I don’t know what Meghan sees when she looks in the mirror in this outfit, but it’s certainly not what we mere fashion amateurs see. The mismatched white and the mixed styles would jump right out at me.
I’m 73, 5’2 and “fluffy” and although it’s getting harder to cover my expanding middle, I make sure that my clothes don’t emphasize my “figure faults” and that the colors I wear are flattering and not all over the color wheel. Meghan has a much easier body to dress than I do and has no reason to stick to black and white or navy. Sigh.
