Aww, that’s an adorable picture.

I notice everyone’s wearing polka dots. Is there a significance to that or is it just a coincidence?
;) She started this current 'trend', when she visited Bletchley Park earlier in the year, wearing this;

Local Downton Abbey events:

New 'Downton Abbey' movie inspires teas, fashion shows

"Downton Abbey" fans who've been in withdrawal since the beloved Masterpiece show went off the air in 2015 can breathe a sign of the relief. Not only does the "Downton" movie premiere this week but the good times don't have to end when the film credits do.

From "Downton Abbey"-inspired teas to fashion shows, Metro Detroiters can get swept up into the post-Edwardian England just a little longer this fall, reveling in the customs, clothes and traditions...

Yikes, that dress looks like something Herman Munster's wife would wear. Thumbs down for today's outfit. The shear top part really makes her broad shoulders look broader. Nice earrings.

You are correct BD eyes, I was thinking Addam's family but got them mixed up with the Munsters. LOL!!

She's getting panned for wearing black, while literally everyone around her is wearing... black.

Wouldn't be my choice for a wedding (and I wouldn't wear something that might have cost more than the bride's dress!) but for all we know the invitation could have stated evening dress.

I've seen other photos of various attendees, i.e. Ivanka Trump and Jared Kushner, and I feel safe in saying that the wedding invitation likely indicated "black tie": tuxes for men, formal attire for women. I wore black velvet to a December black tie wedding some years ago, but I wouldn't wear black during any other season.

I read on DM that the wedding was black tie and floor length gowns. Not my kind of wedding.

The dress will be perfect for her Halloween costume. All it needs is a pointy hat

Ivanka looks smashing. In the frontal photo of her, she also looks a great deal like her mother, which is something I haven’t usually noticed about her

The dress looks like something worn by Morticia (Carolyn Jones) on The Addams Family.
More like Morticia’s granny would wear that.

Not everything that’s really really expensive is great. Valentino usually has very chic and timeless fashions. This one not so much. It’s got a Project Runway ackwardness to it, especially on a woman with normal proportions

Well Karlie Kloss is also wearing a black dress by Zac Posen, and I don’t like that one either. The neckline looks odd and uncomfortable

There’s a photo of Paul McCartney’s wife in a pretty black, floral- printed dress, but we only see the very top of it.

Katy Perry seems to be wearing something deep pink, and she usually wears odd things, so this might be interesting

There seem to have been a lot of women who chose black, so it’s no great fashion crime.

I think it’s a very beautiful dress. —With just enough sparkle.

The wedding is definitely a celebutant affair. And the film set is a wonderfully dramatic backdrop. Total fantasy.

Valentino, I have a hunch lent or gave Meghan the dress. He is one of the most beloved designers of all, and, as they say, when in Rome...

His boutique is at the top, and not far from the Spanish Steps. I remember checking it out when I visited Rome.

I’m glad Harry and Meghan are having a great time with friends in this most romantic city...

Because no matter what, they are going to get raked over the coals... so, I say put the press in a box, tie a bow, and have a great time anyway.

Polka dots are always in fashion... but perhaps Kate brought something back with her 40’s style...

What I noticed in the picture is all the polka dots!!

The Duchess of Sussex will tackle the highly charged issue of ‘gender violence’ head-on when she arrives in South Africa on Monday.

It is understood that Meghan intends to raise the issue within hours of touching down in Cape Town as she and Prince Harry visit an impoverished township in the city on the first morning of their nine-day official visit to Africa.

South Africa has been hit by nationwide protests over the past few weeks after a series of murders of women, and the country’s president has admitted that he is struggling to cope with the crisis.

You know what’s sad is that there’s a numbers game that is tied to social media.

It’s a manufactured competition. And there’s betting behind it too.

When Diana became the most enchanting princess in the 80’s, the press followed with “people magazine”.

Before that, Life Magazine was much more measured.

Back in the youth of my day... the 60’s and 70’s, if you weren’t captured on the street in a journalistic recording, one had to ask permission for an image. And in polite society that was always the case.

To me, 1980, people magazine changed all that.

Prince Harry never knew there was a time when people had to ask permission.

He and Meghan need to find their own way in this crazy world.

I know journalists have to produce a piece that will sell. Sometimes I think they just see what’s happening on Websleuths, write something up and head to the golf course.
