I tend to encourage people to elope :D if they insist on getting married

Why would anyone expect her to elope or have a Vegas wedding? I'm confused. Do some people feel that, as a royal, she is less worthy of a nice wedding, similar to that of her cousin Harry? Perhaps I'm interpreting this incorrectly, but it sounds like some people are insulting or demeaning her. I hope I'm wrong, apologies in advance.

Oh no I love a royal wedding. And have no strong feelings for her either way :)
I’m just at the point in my life I guess where I’d personally choose the easiest option mainly because it’s easier lol.
Also think marriage -and the whole wedding thing-is overrated ;)

Really want Bea to be happy but theres something I don't trust about her fella. I'm going to err on the side of being cautiously happy for them.

The timing of the engagement is a bit odd, usually they try to stagger these things and not have competing events/announcements but both William and Kate had an event today and Harry is in Botswana. I wonder is she pregnant or is something about Andrew coming out in the next few days?
glad to see it's not just me that thinks there is something off about him. I hope I'm wrong, she deserves happiness and I truly hope she's found it.

I think it has more to do with her father's current situation than with her.

Well, if it was ok for Prince Harry to have a big wedding, etc. There's controversy everywhere in the royal family.

I'm not sure I understand why Beatrice (who is innocent of any scandal) should be punished or shamed for anything her father has done. I mean, wow. Maybe it's just the kind of ethics and morality I grew up with. Everyone is different, I suppose.

No one said that she did not deserve a wedding. I would say to anyone - skip the wedding, go to Vegas , have fun and leave the stress of a wedding behind. This is nothing personal towards Beatrice. I think you did interpret incorrectly as far as what I posted. I don't think anyone was insulting or demeaning her. I don't know how you got that interpretation but I meant my comment all in fun.

The thing that concerns me about the wedding is people shouting abuse at Prince Andrew when he is on the way in to the church. However he will probably carry on business as usual as father of the bride wanting it televised on the BBC and have millions of taxpayers money spent on security for the non existent crowds like at Eugenie’s wedding. They should be paying for the wedding and the security.

I wish Princess Beatrice well I just hope she has made the right decision choosing someone who left the mother of his child a few months after he was born.

I also don't like the looks of this fellow but what do I know, I'm a random person. :D It only matters that Beatrice is happy. We will find out what the future holds soon enough.

I for one love the side baguettes on her engagement ring. Baguettes are in.

Let's strap up for another royal wedding!

Prince Harry prepares to follow in his mother Princes Diana's footsteps as he visits a new de-mining site in Angola

The Duke of Sussex today retraced the footsteps of his late mother as he donned body armour and a protective visor to walk through a partially cleared minefield.

Harry was highlighting the ongoing threat of the munitions in Angola, the same nation Diana, Princess of Wales visited in 1997 to urge the world to ban the weapons.

Some 22 years after his mother Princess Diana walked through the minefield and called for a global ban on mines, Harry was then asked to set off an anti-personnel mine which had been discovered earlier with a controlled explosion to safely destroy the decades-old weapon.

Princess Diana would be proud.

New pics of Master Archie! He does look like his father. Meghan looks happy and relaxed. Good to see the three of them out and about together.

Congrats to Beatrice . She looks so happy. Her fiance looks like a mouse with cheese.

I hope Beatrice gets to thoroughly enjoy making wedding plans and not be too stressed about her father's poor choices being in the news.

I'm looking forward to another royal wedding. But, I've got my eye on that groom-to-be.

Meghan haters are just vicious . I don't understand it at all.

Princess Diana would be proud.

Tears!

An inspiration. What a difference comparing this to the mindless pursuits of so many wealthy young people.

DH and I saw Downton Abbey on Wednesday. Loved the clothes, shoes, hats, and mostly the women's short hairstyles. Perhaps the film will encourage women to doff the hair extensions and opt for shorter hair. I'm due for a haircut and plan to have my stylist take off more than the usual 1/2" for a jaw-length bob :) Sets, scenery, music in the movie are enchanting. Enjoyed the subtle sarcasm and humor. Maggie Smith is a gem!

When the TV series was featured on PBS' Masterpiece Theatre, we only watched a handful of episodes over the years and never really got into it. I noticed in the PBS fall schedule that Downton Abbey will be featured on Sundays, but local library has entire DVD series for free rental. We will binge watch the series in its entirety over the next few weeks. Hoping that the new film will be featured on our January cruise. I definitely want to see it again. Don't miss it!

Botswana, where Harry got Meghan’s diamond, maybe he’ll get another.

I hate to be THE one but...

Cops have already *CLEARED* Andrew: Scotland Yard say they investigated allegations Duke of York 'had sex with Virginia Roberts aged 17 in Ghislaine Maxwell's bathroom' and confirm 'no further action is being taken'

MailOnline approached the Met Police following Mrs Giuffre's revelations in a teaser for her TV interview. A spokesperson said: 'As we have previously said, the Metropolitan Police Service (MPS) did receive an allegation of non-recent trafficking for sexual exploitation.

Having closely examined the available evidence, the decision was made that this would not progress to a full investigation.

'As such, the matter was closed. We acknowledge the considerable interest and concern around this case and have revisited that decision making and believe it remains entirely appropriate.

'Therefore no further action is being taken. The Met will always take seriously any allegation concerning sexual exploitation.'

Exclusive: Met Police decided not to conduct full investigation into court claims of sex trafficking of girl in Prince Andrew photo

Channel 4 News can reveal that the Metropolitan Police began a review of “available evidence” in 2015 after receiving a complaint over claims in court papers that a girl was “forced to have sex with Prince Andrew”.

Channel 4 News also understands that lawyers for Virginia Roberts independently contacted the Metropolitan Police in 2016.

The Metropolitan Police said it “reviewed the available evidence” and decided that the matter “would not progress to a full investigation”.

There is no suggestions that Prince Andrew was *aware of any of Jeffrey Epstein’s activities.*

A complaint to the police regarding the alleged sexual trafficking to the UK of Ms Roberts was received in 2015 from an unconnected third party.

have CLEARED him.

Metropolitan Police
say the Case is Closed.

'Sex-Slaves' - There's no evidence the Prince knew anything about that. - V.G. stated this herself.
'Prostitution' - Does anyone really actually think 'payment' exchanged hands at the time in question?

Note: I am not defending him/his 'questionable' actions, just stating the facts - No Comment

I personally think jealousy has a lot to with it I’m not saying that about about anybody posting here I mean in the Daily Mail online comment section under articles for example.

It is a lovely film it was a nice escape from reality for a couple of hours. Maggie Smith is wonderful in it. Hopefully the movie will be out on dvd before Christmas so I can buy it for my Dad.

He is getting a lot of horrendous comments on social media even on the Duchess of York’s own accounts which makes me concerned about it spoiling Beatrice’s wedding day. She should not have her big day spoiled because of her father’s actions. I really think his reputation has been irreparably damaged by this scandal which is understandable. However his reputation wasn’t that positive before it.
