I'd heard of Meaghan but that's cause I watched Suits! :)

I like the Orange on the Queen - but that's my favorite color.

Suits was one of my favorite shows. I was so upset when I learned she was leaving!

With child coming, it’s off to the country for Prince Harry and Meghan Markle

The royal couple, who married in a chapel on the Windsor Castle grounds in May, are expecting their first child in the spring.

LONDON — Like many a couple before them, Prince Harry and his wife Meghan are moving to the suburbs ahead of the anticipated birth of their first child.

Officials said Saturday that Harry and Meghan, the Duchess of Sussex, will move from Kensington Palace in central London to Frogmore Cottage, a house on the grounds of Windsor Castle, early next year...

Oh, I really love the sound of happy frogs. And the little peepers in springtime. The grounds are so beyond beautiful. Who wouldn't want to live there?

This is a really good move for Meghan and Harry, I think. They'll be able to find their own way as newly weds, enjoy raising their firstborn together, with some semblance of privacy.

The tension is more media hype, IMO. All this endless fashion competition. Kate has so much more experience, of course she's a pro. I suspect Harry just wants to feel like his own man.

And, I'm sure Meghan's witch of a half sister bearing down, book looming, showing up at Buckingham Palace was just mortifying for Meghan. Her mom can come and go. And Meghan will have some space out of the spotlight to figure out her family, her dad in particular. Baby changes things, changes how people feel. Hopefully for the better for this new family.

Frog sounds and running around barefoot in the grass are so good for the soul.

This will be so interesting. I wonder if they'll go the same way as William and Kate, wanting to keep childcare within the family but eventually getting a nanny. I'm also looking at the 45 minute journey at the moment, longer on weekdays no doubt, and thinking that Meghan will soon tire of travelling in most days. I don't envy her; would she be able to go to baby groups and meet other mums, if she wanted? I think it will be incredibly isolating, unless she leaves babycare to her mother or nanny and continues to build up friendships here. Or invites friends over a LOT.

(45 minute journey into central London)

Here is more information about Frogmore Cottage, not to be confused with the larger Frogmore House.

Quoting the link:

But the cottage itself is in need of repair and has recently been used to house members of the royal staff, per The Telegraph. According to the publication, the property is currently "divided into five units," but it will now undergo a serious renovation to adequately turn it "into a family home with modern amenities," which will reportedly include a spa, a yoga studio, and a nursery.

The Telegraph also notes that security concerns will need to be addressed ahead of the move, as the cottage was previously very easy to access by members of the general public.

You make some good points, but I’m not sure that Meghan would need to “go to work” in London except on days she has engagements. Perhaps she can quietly join baby groups nearby. She managed to cook with the Grenfell fire survivors without anyone in the media catching on. I’m sure Meghan and Harry will make it work. What a great place for their family!

Not work - leisure, meeting with people, continuing with the social side of things. Dunno, I just can't see her sticking around out in the countryside. But time will tell! William and Kate seemed to love living in Norfolk but if my memory is right, he was working full time so they probably had a normal-ish lifestyle, albeit with staff. I think it will be interesting as a transition into the next stage of life for them, parenthood, but away from everyone for so many hours per day.

Now I'm wondering how long her maternity leave will be. Off to google!

Does a feud between Kate and Meghan explain why the Sussexes are moving to Windsor? Unease between wives 'is driving Harry and William apart'

“Kate and Meghan are very different people,’ the source said, adding: ‘They don’t really get on.’

Harry and mother-to-be Meghan have been given Frogmore Cottage by the Queen, and it will become their official residence.”

Does a feud between Kate and Meghan explain why the Sussexes are moving to Windsor? | Daily Mail Online

I doubt there is a feud between Kate and Meghan. Notice how quickly the stories switched from feud between the princes to their wives? We all know the princely brothers are tight.
Kate and Meghan are two very different persons with very different cultures and upbringing. If they are not the type to hang out and grow close, that is alright. Kate has her sister as her bestest friend and other female friends that she has been with since high school and college.

Unfortunately I predict that Meghan will be very lonely. She has no one. If the rumours about her mother moving in with them is true, then good, at least Meghan will have someone.

It saddens me to read about an alleged "feud" between the sisters-in-law. I like both young women for different reasons and want them to each be their own person. They don't need to be bosom buddies or kindred spirits to do good in their communities and beyond.

Frogmore Cottage looks like a great place to raise a family! What a lovely gift from the Queen. I'm very happy for Harry and Meghan and hope they will enjoy many happy years there. 45 minutes to London seems about perfect to me, to be honest (especially if it wasn't a daily commute).

As for the sisters-in-law "feud", I call BS. Everyone getting along and getting to know each other, kids and dogs happily playing together, doesn't sell nearly as many copies or get nearly as many clicks. Why would Catherine and Meghan not try to get along (if there are any personality clashes), as their husbands are so close with each other and their grandmother. Honestly, they have a lot in common: working women, moms (or soon to be), charity benefactors, champions for mental health, being in the public eye, wondering what we will say here on this thread about their fashion choices :D etc. Seems like they would have plenty to bond over, and Catherine could surely show Meghan the ropes to adjusting to royal life, without feeling threatened.

The clickbait is just more negative stereotyping about women, royal or otherwise IMO.

Great post! I agree completely. Your last sentence says it all. Maybe we should refrain from posting these negative “clickbait” stories here. It truly is “negative stereotyping” that all women encounter in various ways.

I doubt that Meghan and Kate loathe each other. Things written are often click-bait. Harry and Meghan are a couple, and moving away from the "Compound" is probably a great idea. Too much family, too close, who wouldn't go crazy.

I wonder how much it is a feud and how much is just they don't have all that much in common right now so they didn't take to becoming best friends? One is a mother of three who has been with her now-husband for her entire adult life, another is an independant former Hollywood actress who has been focused on her career and philanthropy. I think once Meghan has children and they are playing with their cousins she will be closer with Kate. It is silly to think two women brought into a situation by chance MUST become immediate best friends despite nothing in common or there is a feud!

The REAL reason why Harry and Meghan are moving away from William and Kate: Emboldened prince and his new wife who 'gets what she wants' plan life in Windsor cottage as they don't want their child growing up in 'goldfish bowl' of Kensington Palace

The REAL reason why Harry and Meghan are moving away from William and Kate | Daily Mail Online

I think the Daily Mail is loving the drama it is creating take the photo for e.g.

I would like to live and have a child growing up in a public visitor centre for tourists no matter how grand it is.
