Why Meghan Markle can't keep her hands off her little baby bump - according to a midwife

Lesley Gilchrist co-founder of My Expert Midwife explained to MailOnline that it's a "perfectly natural impulse" no matter the size of the bump, to instinctively protect her unborn baby.

A couple of my friends did it with their first kids. Much at the food-baby size Meghan is now. Neither did it second time round.

I was a bit worried seeing her in those black skinny jeans a day or so ago, throwing " Wellies". She didn't seem to have a bump at all and I was remembering how friends have said how tight jeans got very early on. I've had good friends say their jeans and bras were too tight before the stick turned. I believe them because I saw them during the changes.

They say the jeans worn in NZ are the jeans she wore when dating Harry at the Canada Invictus Games, so if true, they must have been SO tight.

As for why she's touching her tummy, it's likely not so much protective at this time as it is that she's feeling first fetal movements, as I believe she's at least 16 weeks pregnant. Most first time moms definitely feel the fluttering which, as most of you moms know, can often be mistaken for intestinal gas until there's no doubt, LOL.

I hope she'll try out a really helpful supportive underband type adjustable undergarment that helps support the broad ligament as it stretches and the ligaments and joints are looser also. The fetal movement will very soon be strong enough, and also correlated with a sonogram showing movement and kicks that she'll not worry or wonder if it's gas or baby moving. :)

No haka for them?

Is this Royal tour just about over? Seems it's been weeks and must be exhausting, especially for Meghan in the early stages of pregnancy. I hope the couple will enjoy a period of rest and relaxation once they return home.

She's probably not doing it as much as it seems, it just happens that she is constantly being photographed and the newspapers jump to post any picutre with her hands near her bump.

Meghan Markle suffers another wardrobe malfunction, wears see-through skirt in New Zealand

Meghan Markle suffers another wardrobe malfunction, wears see-through skirt in New Zealand
.....

I saw this earlier on DM. Was waiting for it to come to light. It reminded me of some photos I have seen of celebs out and about wearing black shirts/blouses w/o bra/brassiere and you can see nipples yet in person you can’t see them. First time was years ago on Oprah, the show was about to start and camera man stopped. He told O that he could see her nipples through the camera yet not looking at her directly. When the show started she went on to say what had happened and that she changed shirt/blouse, thanking the camera men.

Other wise I have been looking daily at her wardrobe and I like most, I dont care for the black jeans.

The black & white Oscar de la Renta gown w/ birds is gorgous and she looked fabulous, of course I’m a grace kelly, audrey hepburn fan.

I'm not sure if it is sheer or not but to me that outfit is so ugly. I don't understand her wardrobe choices at all.

Not true. The jeans she wore at Invictus games were faded blue and had rips in them (which frankly surprised me she would wear something so "unroyal-like" since she was mere months away from the engagement).

The jeans she was wearing in NZ were much darker (black jeans I think) and had no rips or tears in them. Jeans can be altered in some clever ways to give more room in the waist before needing to fully transition to maternity jeans. She lost weight before her wedding and she's pretty skinny.

I remember Kate wearing maternity jeans. I had a pair and wore them frequently. Mine weren't "skinny" jeans; bell-bottoms were popular in the early '70s.
