I really love things people say...before they have children! I don't think Meghan has been around many small children, or babies. She has plenty to learn.

What blows my mind is that some people who post comments in the DM actually think the Queen cares about their posts!!

As if plebs on a rag will be taken into account by the Queen of England!

One person wrote that 'the Queen cares about public opinion and we're public opinion.'. Wot???

The RF has been avoiding the rags for decades. Write a letter to the Editor to something she reads if you hope for her to see it, not the DM!

I think that's so funny. LOL

^^^ Does anyone recall Kate being exactly the same way as a 'newbie'??
Remember when she was not getting on with the York sisters? Kate thought they should curtsy to HER as she was married to William.

She thought she was running the show til the Queen was forced to release a 'code of order' or whatever it was called, putting the blood princesses ahead of her. The only time they have to show reverence is if William is present, if not, Kate must show reverence to them.

We must remember 'waity Kate', the dolittles, etc because she's had seven + years to adjust and Meghan has been there 5 minutes.

Also, Meghan was the captain of her own ship for years, hard to step back into antiquity and a rule book from the 1400s.

She will either adjust or leave. I still cross my fingers that it will work out over time.

Perhaps that's another reason to go to Windsor, most brothers do not live next door to one another after marriage....why them??

And, like it or not, her children will be 'spoiled'. They are royal children, it defines being spoiled I think. lol

Good point about reasons to live in Windsor - fewer people to show deference/curtsy to every day. JMO, as an older woman set in her ways, the deference/curtsy customs are probably difficult for MM to adapt to. JMO, she adapted in a similar way to being expected to walk and stand behind Harry in public - she just grabs his arm or holds his hand so she's at his side instead of behind.

I wonder if they will both become bored with living in the country after they've been out there a while? Both have spent a lot of time living in the city, going out a lot. It may be an adjustment. Is Windsor a more quiet place or is there an active social life?

Thanks for your reply! :p I'm old, so I remember Koo Stark gracing the cover of The Sun. I am sensing a tabloid redux here - Diana was perfect, everything she did was perfect; that "chunky" "commoner" Fergie could do no thing right. Now it's perfect Kate and brash foreigner Meghan, with the same older brother & younger brother story. The DM cannot decide which juicy rumors to publish, even though their stories cancel each other out.

BTW, about chunky commoner Fergie. I have met Sarah and she is lovely in person. Peeps can be sooo mean. She has the most amazing eyes, they're just like emeralds and against her red hair, beautiful. It didn't surprise me that Eugenie chose the emerald tiara. We were all younger when I met her so her hair really was red and beautiful.

Buckingham Palace has made the extraordinary move to issue a statement saying the reports in the press today about the Duchess of Cambridge fighting with the Duchess of Sussex “never happened”. Usually they ignore them.

They need to find out who is selling these stories to the Daily Mail.

I don’t know what is going on but someone has it in for the Duchess of Sussex. I would not like to be working in the Royal press office just now.

I’m really glad to hear that Buckingham Palace has issued this statement. I have a real feeling that the DM just makes things up out of thin air. But if anyone in the Royal press office is planting false stories...heads will roll!!

Careful of what you say there Lilibet!!

In yesteryear, heads really DID roll!

They'll lose their job but with head intact. LOL

Where did you read this gregrrichards? You sent me dashing to the DM but they're just posting more silly stuff about the couples splitting Christmas at different homes.

Pretty normal to alternate years with family, IMO

Right?! Don’t we all say we won’t spoil our kids?

Wow, you want gossip?

National Enquirer says that Meghan had to pass fertility tests ordered by the Queen before consenting to the marriage, she wants two kids out of the deal.

They harvested Meghans eggs, (probably went to the Clooneys doc (my words)
and I bet its twins.) due to her advanced age.

Also that the palace is concerned about Charles ascending the throne and that Queenie and William are 'working something out' to skip him.

That's a lot to take in but its probably true. oh dear!

This all seems possible if not likely.

And I have some great swamp land in Florida to sell you. :D

Yea, but I'd bet its true.

At least with American rags, there's usually a grain of truth to them whereas the British rags just plain out lie.

Has something to do with the laws in America and law suits.

The Cambridges have prevented things being published in GB that have been printed elsewhere. Like her nudie pics. They're online though if you go to the German papers. lol

Just my opinion, but I have felt MM would have twins from day one. Since MM and PH went to a fertility clinic, my thought has been they did IVF and implanted two fertilized eggs.

In England, and being that Harry is the Queen’s great grandson, is the procedure of preselecting the sex of your child available? If so, Harry and Meghan will have one son and one daughter.

ETA: Another reason for my thinking is that Meghan is always trying to one up Kate. What better way than to give birth to twins? Twins are such an attention getter. A sure way to be the number one Duchess in the media.

Wait has the fertility clinic been confirmed?

Fertility clinic? Reputable link please!

Nitpicking :) but Harry is the Queen’s grandson, not great grandson, although he really is great!

I haven’t noticed Meghan always trying to one up Kate at all. Guess I’m blind! I seriously doubt Meghan and/or Harry are the kind of parents who would look upon their potential twins as a way to get attention or “one up” Kate. They aren’t the trashy people we read about here on WS who don’t love their children for who they are, but use them for their own selfish wishes. My goodness!

Some fun facts I found about royal births.
William is the first direct heir born in a hospital.
All of the Queens children were born in the medical area of Buckingham Palace IIRC.
Queen Victoria was the first to use drugs during labor and delivery, a path that many thereafter followed.
It was released that Diana went drug free but I couldn't find any reference to Anne's labors beyond the hospital she used, St. Mary's Hospital, for Peter at least.

Hmmm, I won't believe the fertility clinic rumour unless it is confirmed - it seems unlikely that they'd try fertility treatments until after they'd tried naturally for at least a year. The line of succession is rock solid - if the Queen was worried about fertility, she would have told Harry to choose one of his former girlfriends and marry long ago. Harry is very unlikely to ever rule, being 6th in line. Also I don't believe you have to take a fertility test to get into the RF. Royals have had problems conceiving too. The line of succession exists for a reason.

I was wondering about this with Meghan potentially wanting a home birth - it wouldn't actually be groundbreaking in the RF if it occurred at the palace with private doctors. Although can you imagine giving birth in your grandmother-in-law's house...when she's also the Queen. No thanks!!
